Abstract

Bangsring Underwater is a marine tourism area that adopts the concept of ecotourism in Banyuwangi Regency. It has several challenges that must be faced. During the rainy season, the sea water in Bangsring Underwater becomes cloudy, the sea waves are high, and usually there is a lot of garbage in the snorkeling and diving areas. Besides that, the coral reefs are also getting more and more damaged due to accidental visitors while doing snorkeling. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sustainability status of Bangsring Underwater in terms of ecological dimensions, economic dimensions, socio-cultural dimensions, legal and institutional dimensions as well as infrastructure and technology dimensions. This type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The analytical method used in this study is Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) with rapid appraisal analysis tools. The results of this study indicate that the sustainability status of Bangsring Underwater in Banyuwangi Regency is stated to be quite sustainable with a sustainability status index value of 74.03 in terms of ecological dimensions, economic dimensions, socio-cultural dimensions, legal and institutional dimensions as well as infrastructure and technology dimensions. Abstract

The Osing culture remains one of the enduring local identities in Banyuwangi Regency amidst the forces of globalization. The uniqueness of the Osing people's traditions, arts, language, and indigenous knowledge presents a significant potential for the development of cultural tourism products. This study aims to explore the cultural values of the Osing that can be represented in intangible cultural tourism products in Banyuwangi Regency. The design of this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The findings reveal that Osing cultural values are reflected in various forms of cultural tourism products, such as traditional ceremonies, agricultural customs, performing arts, language, traditional food, and local medicine. These values serve as the core of the cultural tourism appeal in Banyuwangi. Cultural festivals like B-Fest play a vital role in the preservation and promotion of Osing culture through active participation from the local community. Thus, Osing culture not only strengthens local identity but also serves as a strategy for sustainable tourism development.

Abstract

The supply chain of the tourism industry and the creative economy is very closely related through efforts to develop industrial ecosystems including business partnerships from upstream to downstream. One of the culinary sub-sectors that is growing rapidly, and has even become a new lifestyle for the people, is Indonesian coffee. The increase in the amount of national coffee consumption is of course followed by the level of archipelago coffee production. Banyuwangi Regency has strategic coffee-producing locations, one of which is located in Gombengsari Village. This study aims to analyze the coffee supply chain in the Gombengsari Coffee and Tourism Village, so that the authors can determine the priority of development recommendations in order to improve the performance of coffee supply chain management in the Gombengsari Coffee and Tourism Village. The research method used is descriptive analysis using case study research techniques with data testing, namely using marketing analysis, marketing margins, farmer's share, and marketing efficiency. The results of this study indicate that there are three patterns of coffee flow. Farmers can apply partnerships and creative economy concepts to increase tourism development in the Gombengsari Coffee and Tourism Village, Banyuwangi Regency.

Abstract

Pendampingan dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan diversifikasi produk telah menjadi strategi penting dalam pengembangan ekonomi masyarakat. Artikel ini membahas peran penting kegiatab Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat berupa pendampingan dalam membantu Bolu Aulia Bakery untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk mereka serta memperluas ragam produk yang ditawarkan. Melalui pendekatan berbasis pengetahuan dan praktik terbaik, pendampingan menyediakan bimbingan teknis dan manajerial kepada karyaman Bolu Aulia Bakery, membantu mereka dalam mengadopsi inovasi teknologi, memperbaiki proses produksi, dan meningkatkan standar kualitas. Selain itu, pendampingan juga mendorong Bolu Aulia Bakery untuk melakukan diversifikasi produk, memperluas portofolio mereka untuk memenuhi berbagai kebutuhan pasar. Dengan menggabungkan pendekatan partisipatif dan peningkatan kapasitas, pendampingan memberikan dorongan yang signifikan bagi pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal dan peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Melalui studi kasus dan analisis best practice, artikel ini menguraikan strategi dan pendekatan yang efektif dalam pendampingan peningkatan kualitas dan diversifikasi produk, serta menyoroti manfaatnya dalam konteks pembangunan ekonomi berkelanjutan

Abstract

Banyuwangi is well known as a region rich in cultural heritage, one of which is batik with its distinctive Gajah Oling motif that holds aesthetic, philosophical, and spiritual values. One of the small enterprises that contributes to preserving this cultural heritage is Batik Virdes, located in Tampo Village—a batik village that serves as a cultural tourism destination for both domestic and international visitors. This study aims to assess the feasibility of Batik Virdes from a marketing aspect, considering the vital role marketing plays in the sustainability and growth of UMKM. Based on the feasibility analysis, Batik Virdes holds strong competitive advantages in its unique and diverse batik motifs, along with high customer loyalty as shown by the 40–50% repeat purchase rate. Although 25% of customers reported dissatisfaction, this issue can still be resolved through product improvement. The analysis suggests that Batik Virdes should adopt a more progressive and bold marketing approach by leveraging its strengths and maximizing market opportunities. Recommended strategies include expanding promotional efforts through digital and traditional media, developing products aligned with current consumer trends, strengthening brand identity through the creation of an official slogan, and expanding distribution networks through strategic partnerships. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for Batik Virdes in developing effective marketing strategies, thereby increasing competitiveness and reinforcing its position in both local and national batik markets.

Abstract

Batik Virdes is a small and medium enterprise locate in Tampo Village, Cluring District, Banyuwangi Regency. Batik Virdes has been established since 1998, offering a variety of batik products range from fabric in meter sizes to finished goods such as clothing and batik headbands with distinctive motifs unique to Batik Virdes. Batik Virdes also produces various types of batik including stamped batik, batik prints, and handwritten batik. In addition to producing beneficial products, Batik Virdes also provide empowerment in maintaining business stability. However, empowerment often faces challenges related to operations because they also use a community empowerment system in recruiting labour. This research focuses on identifying the root causes of operational risks associated with labour in Batik Virdes. The technique used is a descriptive approach conducted through interviews and direct observation at the business location by compiling a risk classification table and visualizing it using a fishbone diagram. The research findings show that the application of community empowerment in the selection of employees at Batik Virdes is a strategic way because it can reduce costs and provide an overview of basic skills, as well as show the identification of the root causes of operational risks. With the identification of the root causes of existing risks, it is hoped that the owner can carry out mitigation to address the risks to support business continuity.
