Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative research, which aims to describe the application of the fun learning method as an alternative to increase students' interest in learning mathematics. The subjects of this research were class II students of MI Nurul Huda, Sawo Village, Gresik Regency, for the 2021/2022 academic year. Determination of the subject is based on the results of the survey or observations of the researcher team. The instruments used in this research are test questions, fun learning implementation guidelines, and student learning interest questionnaires. The research was carried out in a blended manner, namely combining online and offline. The data used are the results of tests, tests and questionnaires of interest in learning mathematics given before and after the application of the fun learning method. Based on the recapitulation and data reduction that has been done, the results of this study indicate that: (1) Grade 2 students of MI Nurul Huda are more active in participating in learning activities in class using the fun learning method, so this method is very appropriate to be an alternative learning method in class, especially in the classroom. math. (2) The results of the questionnaire on students' interest in learning mathematics showed an increase, which means that learning by playing can restore and increase students' interest in learning mathematics. (3) The final test results show an increase in students' understanding and knowledge after the implementation of the fun learning program, which means that students are more enthusiastic about learning. So it can be concluded that by implementing a fun learning program can create a learning atmosphere that is fun and popular with students.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how students' critical thinking skills in solving Open Ended problems based on Van Hiele's thinking stage. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The subjects of this study were 6 students of VII-E grade at SMP Negeri 5 Lamongan in the 2019/2020 academic year. The determination of the subject was based on the results of the VHGT (Van Hiele Geometry Test) test. The instrument that was given to the research subjects consisted of a description test consisting of 2 questions. The data used are test results and the results of interview interviews. Based on the analysis of the data that has been done, the results of this study indicate that: (1) the ability of students to think critically with visualization thinking (stage 0) has TKBK 2 or sufficiently critical, which means students are able to meet 2 indicators of critical thinking skills, namely clarification and assessment. (2) the ability of students to think critically with the stage of analytical thinking (stage 1) has a TKBK of 3 or critical, which means students are able to meet 3 indicators of critical thinking skills, namely clarification, assessment and inference. (3) the ability of students to think critically with the stage of informal deduction thinking (stage 2) has TKBK 4 or very critical, which means students are able to meet all the indicators of critical thinking skills namely clarification, assessment, inference and strategy.

Abstract

This research purpose to develop a student book characterized by Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness test results. The development of this student book uses the Plomp model, which is carried out in three phases, namely: (1) Preliminary research, (2) Prototyping phase, (3) Assessment phase. In the Preliminary research phase, it was found that numeracy literacy skills at SDN 2 Padenganploso were still low, and the teaching materials used did not include problems in daily life that were relevant to the environmental conditions around the students. In the Prototyping phase, student books are developed using steps that are in accordance with the principles and characteristics of RME. In the Assessment phase, based on the results of expert validation, an average score for all aspects was obtained of 3.86, which means that the RME student book can be said to be valid. From the results of observing the implementation of the student book, a score of 3.87 was obtained, which means that the practicality test by the observer met the Practical criteria. From working on numeracy literacy questions, 90% of students obtained a score above 65, and the overall N-Gain calculation results obtained an average score of 0.71 with a high interpretation. The results of observing student activities obtained an average of 3.8 in the active category, and the results of student responses were found to be 90% giving positive responses, which means that student books characterized by RME meet the Effective criteria

Abstract

This research purpose to describe students' mathematical representation abilities in solving mathematics problems in terms of Florence Littauer's personality type. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with the research subjects being class VIII students at SMPN 2 Sukodadi, totaling 8 students. This research uses technical triangulation, a Florence Littauer questionnaire to determine students' personality types and tests used to determine students' mathematical representation abilities. The results of this research show that students with a sanguine personality with high ability can complete visual and symbolic representations, students with moderate ability are less able to complete verbal representations, and students with moderate ability are less able to complete all indicators of mathematical representation ability. Choleric personality students with medium ability are less able to complete visual and symbolic representation indicators, low ability students are not able to complete verbal representations, and students with low ability are not able to complete all indicators of mathematical representation ability. Melancholic personality students with high abilities can complete all mathematical representation abilities. Phlegmatic personality students with low abilities have not been able to complete all mathematical representation skills

Abstract

Banyak ibu rumah tangga yang mempunyai waktu luang namun tidak bekerja karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Oleh karena itu adanya pelatihan yang diikuti peserta ibu-ibu PKK di Desa Sungelebak, Kecamatan Karanggeneng, Kabupaten Lamongan, Jawa Timur dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan untuk mengisi waktu luang sehingga mampu membuka usaha pembuatan donat labu kuning sebagai usaha sampingan. Metode kegiatan pelatihan ini menerapkan 4 tahapan yang meliputi: tahap pertama survey dengan metode studi literatur, wawancara dan observasi langsung; tahap kedua pemaparan materi dengan metode pembelajaran langsung atau ceramah dan tanya jawab; tahap ketiga pelatihan dengan metode praktek secara langsung; dan tahap keempat pendampingan dengan metode pengamatan langsung. Hasil dari pengabdian yang pertama meningkatkan kesadaran di kalangan ibu-ibu PKK akan pentingnya perbaikan struktur usaha bagi perekonomian pedesaan. Kedua memanfaatkan pelatihan kewirausahaan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membuat donat labu kuning. Berdasarkan nilai akhir yang diperoleh yaitu 92% untuk aspek antusias, 88% untuk aspek pengetahuan, dan 90% untuk aspek keterampilan. Dari aspek kompetensi, secara umum kegiatan ini dapat dikatakan tergolong berhasil, peserta antusias mengikuti pelatihan, memahami materi yang disampaikan, dan mampu terampil menerapkan materi pelatihan. Pelatihan ini mendapat tanggapan positif sehingga harus terus dikembangkan dan perlu ada kegiatan lanjutan yang terorganisir. Training In Making Pumpkin Donuts To Empower PKK Women Abstract Many housewives have free time but do not work due to lack of knowledge and skills. Therefore, the training attended by PKK women participants in Sungelebak Village, Karanggeneng District, Lamongan Regency, East Java can increase their knowledge and skills to fill their free time so they can open a business making pumpkin donuts as a side business. This training activity method applies 4 stages which include: the first stage is a survey using literature study methods, interviews and direct observation; the second stage is presentation of the material using direct learning methods or lectures and questions and answers; the third stage of training uses direct practical methods; and the fourth stage is mentoring using direct observation methods. The results of the first service increased awareness among PKK women of the importance of improving business structures for the rural economy. Second, take advantage of entrepreneurship training to improve your ability to make pumpkin donuts. Based on the final score obtained, namely 92% for the enthusiasm aspect, 88% for the knowledge aspect, and 90% for the skills aspect. From the competency aspect, in general this activity can be said to be classified as successful, participants were enthusiastic about taking part in the training, understood the material presented, and were able to skillfully apply the training material. This training received a positive response so it must continue to be developed and there needs to be organized follow-up activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the critical thinking ability of students who have self-concept, moderate and low in solving HOTS-type social arithmetic problems in class VII MTs Darul Ulum Al-Cholily in the 2021/2022 school year. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using 6 selected subjects. The data collection technique used is to provide self-concept questionnaires, tests on critical thinking skills and interviews, questions used to measure critical thinking skills in the form of essays consisting of 2 pieces. The interview aims to determine the students' critical thinking skills which are the driving force for the tests that have been carried out by the subject. Results Based on Key research that subjects who have self-concept are qualified to know critically well but there are still things that need to be improved. Subjects who have moderate self-concepts have met the indicators of critical thinking skills, but in determining the subject's strategy it is still not appropriate in performing arithmetic operations, at the stage of making further explanations the subject is still less precise in providing the desired conclusion. Subjects who have a low self-concept still do not meet all the indicators of critical thinking skills such as at the stage of determining the strategy the subject is still lacking in explaining the steps used and is still not precise in performing arithmetic operations, at the stage of making further explanations the subject is still less precise in giving desired conclusion about.

Abstract

From working on the numeracy literacy questions, it was found that 90% of students scored above 65, and the results of the N-Gain calculation as a whole obtained an average score of 0.71 with a high interpretation. The results of observations of student activity obtained an average of 3.8 with the active category, and the results of student responses obtained 90% gave a positive response, which means that the student book with RME characteristics meets the criteria of Effectiveness.

Abstract

This research is a development research that aims to develop Problem Based Learning Independent Curriculum Worksheets (LKPD) on Trigonometry material that are valid, practical, and effective to improve students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The LKPD developed is part of the teaching module of the Independent Curriculum. This study uses the 4D development model, which consists of the Defining, Designing, Developing, and Deployment stages. However, the Deployment stage is not carried out. The trial was carried out on Class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Sekaran, Lamongan City. The analysis techniques used in this study were grouped into three, namely analysis of LKPD validity data, analysis of LKPD practicality data, and analysis of LKPD effectiveness data. The results showed that the LKPD Independent Curriculum based on Problem Based Learning on Trigonometry material that was developed met the valid, practical, and effective categories to improve students' HOTS. Validity is shown by the average percentage of LKPD validation results is 91%. Practicality is indicated by (1) the average percentage of LKPD implementation is 92%, (2) the percentage of teacher responses is 94%, and (3) the percentage of student responses is 88%. Effectiveness is shown by (1) the average percentage of student activity is 87% and (2) the HOTS increase of students from written assessments is 96%.

Abstract

Heat is a material that is close to everyday life. However, most students still have misconceptions about this material. Thus, teachers need to develop teaching materials that can reduce the misconception of heat material. One alternative is to use teaching materials with cognitive conflict strategies. The research aims to develop teaching materials that are able to reduce students' misconceptions about heat material. The development model used is the 4D model which consists of four stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and distributing. The teaching materials developed include lesson plans, textbooks, student worksheets, and tests. The subjects of the study were seventh-grade students in Lamongan regency which consisted of 10 state junior high schools and private junior high schools. The research instrument was a feasibility test sheet for teaching materials and a questionnaire to see students’ responses. Data collection techniques used the feasibility sheet of teaching materials and questionnaires. Therefore, the result shows that cognitive conflict-based teaching materials are appropriate to be used classroom with a score between 3.0 and 3.9 and a reliability coefficient value of more than 90%.  and can reduce misconceptions with a percentage reduction in misunderstandings from 10 junior high schools in the Lamongan regency ranging from 30.3 to 47.8 percent.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of the game-based learning model assisted by the QuizWhizzer application on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities in the topic of linear equations, viewed from different levels of self-efficacy. This research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent control group type. The population consisted of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Baureno in the 2024/2025 academic year, with class VIII J as the experimental group and class VIII F as the control group. The research instruments included a self-efficacy questionnaire, tests (pretest and posttest), student worksheets (LKPD), teaching modules, and learning materials. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 27 through prerequisite tests (normality, homogeneity, and linearity) and hypothesis testing (Independent Samples t-Test). The results showed a significant effect of the game-based learning model assisted by QuizWhizzer compared to conventional learning on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, viewed from high (sig. 0.023), moderate (0.048), and low (0.049) self-efficacy levels, all of which were < 0.05. The average posttest scores of students in the experimental class, based on self-efficacy levels, were higher than those in the control class. Therefore, this model is effective as an alternative interactive learning approach to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. Keywords: Game based learning model, Quizwhizzer, Mathematical problem solving, Self efficacy Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan guna mengetahui pengaruh model game based learning berbantuan aplikasi quizwhizzer terhadap pemecahan masalah matematis siswa materi persamaan garis lurus ditinjau dari tingkat self efficacy. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif desain quasi experiment bertipe the non-equivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian meliputi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Baureno tahun pelajaran 2024/2025, dengan sampel terdiri dari kelas VIII J (eksperimen) dan kelas VIII F (kontrol). Penelitian menggunakan instrumen yang meliputi angket self efficacy, tes (pretest dan posttest), LKPD, modul ajar, dan bahan ajar. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SPSS 27 melalui uji prasyarat (normalitas, homogenitas, linearitas) dan uji hipotesis (Independent Samples t-Test). Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan terdapat pengaruh signifikan model game based learning berbantuan quizwhizzer dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap pemecahan masalah matematis siswa ditinjau dari self efficacy tinggi (sig. 0,023), sedang (0,048), dan rendah (0,049), yang semuanya < 0,05. Rata-rata posttest siswa berdasarkan self efficacy kelas eksperimen lebih unggul daripada kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, model ini efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran interaktif dalam meningkatkan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.
