Abstract

The research examines impacts of sales growth and company size to financial structure. Research conducted at firms in mining industries which go public in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results of the research show that the sales growth and company size positively affect the firms’ financial structure in the mining sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Sales growth variable has significant effect while company size has no significant effect to financial structure. Furthermore, during the last three years between 2013-2015, sales growth and the company size of mining sector companies continue to decline. This is due to the decline in world coal prices followed by slowing demand for coal and crude oil. Consequently, policy makers and managers of mining industries should consider sales growth and company size in arranging the company financial structure. They can use based on these findings, especially more attention on sales growth to manage that financial structure

This study used a quantitative approach with the survey as a data collection method. The population in this study was 370 students, the faculty of teacher training and education at state universities in Jakarta, and private universities in Banten and Lampung. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling, obtained by 105 respondents. Data was collected through questionnaires, and structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the relationship between constructs. The results of this study state that Digital literacy and academic self-efficacy play an important role in creating student engagement in hybrid learning. The ability of students to use digital learning resources will support active participation in the learning process. A high academic level of self-efficacy also helps them to be able to have confidence and perseverance during the learning process. Digital literacy and academic self-efficacy will bring students to be actively involved in the digital learning environment and play an essential role in shaping or maintaining student motivation and persistence in learning. Students' engagement levels can be increased by increasing their ability to use digital technology effectively and increasing their confidence that they can achieve their desired academic goals.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to measure whether organizational performance in the education sector could be improved through a learning and growth perspective, which involves constructs of human capital, information capital, and organizational capital. This research uses a quantitative approach with the survey as a data collection method and the structural equation model as the analysis method via Smart PLS software to measure the relationship between human, information, and organizational capital with organizational performance, from the perspective of learning and growth. This study concluded that human capital (HC) and Informational Capital (IC) simultaneously have a strong relationship to organizational performance (OP) with Organizational Capital (OC) as a mediating variable. Directly, HC and OC have a significant relationship with OP. While IC has a weak relationship with OP. These results conclude that without HC and OC, IC is a variable that functions to encourage and utilize HR work to form OC and OP. These findings strengthen the theory about the importance of human resource management in the education sector through aspects of meeting the needs of knowledge development, and skill competencies that keep up with developments. This finding also strengthens the theory that claim that learning and growth factors influence organizational performance along the internal process, financial, and customer per- spectives.

Abstract

Lobbying and negotiation skills are some of the required skills to succeed in business and social life. Conventional universities may develop their students’ skills through real-life scenarios while this could be challenging for open and distance universities which students are scattered around the world. Virtual Reality is an alternative technology that allows students to experience real-life scenarios in a simulated environment. This research aims to develop website-based Virtual Reality training to enhance learning in the business communication subject, with a specific focus on lobbying and negotiation techniques in distance education. This research adopts the Borg & Gall Research & Development (R&D) Method for educational research. This paper focuses on the preliminary stage which gathered the data required to construct a high-quality mood board and flowchart aligned with stakeholder needs to produce high-quality virtual reality training to enhance negotiation skills. Primary data is gathered through Focus Group Discussions involving students, tutors, and business communication practitioners. Additionally, secondary data is derived from extensive literature and document reviews, including relevant studies and documents. The result shows that informants are passionate about the idea of using virtual reality to enhance negotiation skills. Options of background, gender, and situation settings as well as interchangeable roleplay are preferred in boosting the motivation and enhancing the practical knowledge of negotiation skills.
