Abstract

This study aims to affirm digital preaching as a theological mandate of the church in the digital era, rooted in the Great Commission and the Missio Dei. The research is motivated by a gap in previous studies that primarily focused on the technical and communicative aspects of digital ministry, without adequately framing them within the church’s theological responsibility. Employing a descriptive qualitative method through a literature-based approach in practical theology and digital media, this study finds that digital preaching plays a strategic role in strengthening the faith of believers, preserving doctrinal purity, and expanding the church’s mission in a contextual manner within online spaces. The findings reveal that social media is not merely a technological adaptation tool, but a new missional arena where the church can embody God’s truth and love in relevant ways for the digital generation. Practically, the study recommends that churches develop sustainable digital ministry strategies that balance theological depth with communicative effectiveness. Hence, digital preaching is understood not only as a medium of spiritual communication but also as a missional and contextual practice of practical theology for the church today and in the future.

Abstract

Abstract: In contemporary Christian theology, the divine identity of YHWH is often reduced to God the Father, resulting in a fragmented understanding of the relationship between Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the God of Israel. This article investigates YHWH as the single divine identity that grounds the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit within the canonical witness of Scripture. Employing a biblical-theological approach, the study conducts a layered textual analysis of key Old and New Testament passages, including Exodus 3:14–15, Deuteronomy 6:4, Joel 2:28–32, Romans 10:9–13, Philippians 2:9–11, 1 Corinthians 8:6, John 1:1–3, and Hebrews 1:10–12. The findings demonstrate that the oneness of YHWH in the Old Testament functions as a covenantal identity claim rooted in creation and redemptive action. The New Testament consistently applies texts, attributes, and prerogatives of YHWH to Jesus Christ without abandoning Jewish monotheism. The term “single” in the title, therefore, denotes the indivisible unity of divine identity rather than a denial of personal distinction. This study argues that the doctrine of the Trinity represents a canonical articulation of YHWH’s unified and relational identity, firmly grounded in biblical monotheism.

Abstract

Jesus' death on the cross presents a paradox between God's eternal nature and the reality of a dying God, sparking intense debate in pluralistic societies. This study analyzes the relationship between Jesus' divinity and death from a soteriological perspective using systematic theology and historical-biblical analysis. The research demonstrates that the doctrines of communicatio idiomatum and Chalcedonian Christology resolve this paradox by maintaining the integrity of both natures in one Divine Person of Jesus. The findings reveal that Jesus' death in human nature constitutes the ultimate expression of God's saving love. Precisely because Jesus is God, His sacrifice is able to redeem all humanity, while His humanity enables this redemptive event to occur. These findings not only strengthen the theological foundation of redemption doctrine but also provide a relevant resolutive framework for contemporary dialectics about Christ's identity. The theological implications require the church to embody cruciform spirituality through practices of kenosis and solidarity with the suffering.
