Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of government expenditure on the number of people who graduate from elementary school, graduate from junior high school, literacy rate 15-24 years, literacy rate 15-55 years, school participation rate 7-12 years, school participation rate 13-15 years, family planning users, immunization, users of water and sanitation in districts/cities in Indonesia. The instrument of this study used panel data regression, which uses panel data of 2016-2019 in districts/cities in Indonesia. The panel data estimation technique used is the standard effect, fixed-effect, and random effect models. Government expenditure is measured using expenditure on education, expenditure on health, and expenditure on infrastructure. The results obtained are that government expenditure on education has a significant effect with 5% on the number of people who graduate from elementary school, the literacy rate of 15-55 years, and the school participation rate of 13-15 years in districts/cities in Indonesia. In the health sector, government expenditure significantly affects family planning users in regencies/cities in Indonesia. In contrast, government expenditure in infrastructure significantly affects users of safe water and the availability of sanitation in regencies/cities in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of Green Mining Technology and Land Reclamation Policy on Ecosystem Stability and Mine Productivity in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Using structural equation modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS), data from a sample of mining operations were analyzed to test hypotheses regarding these relationships. Results indicate significant positive relationships between both Green Mining Technology and Land Reclamation Policy with Ecosystem Stability and Mine Productivity. The findings underscore the dual benefits of sustainable practices and policy interventions in enhancing environmental sustainability and economic productivity in mining operations.

Abstract

This qualitative case study investigates the intricate interplay of digital media initiatives undertaken by government and non-governmental entities in Indonesia to promote religious tolerance. Indonesia's diverse religious landscape provides a captivating backdrop for this research. Government bodies have harnessed digital media to bolster transparency, accountability, and interfaith dialogue, while non-governmental organizations (NGOs) assume roles as advocates, watchdogs, and proponents of religious diversity awareness. The study critically assesses the effectiveness of these initiatives and their influence on spiritual perceptions and interfaith interactions. It underscores the pivotal role of the Indonesian context in shaping these endeavors, offering insights that extend not only to Indonesia but also to the broader global context, emphasizing the importance of fostering religious tolerance in our interconnected world.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of GDP Capita, Population Density and Foreign Direct Investment on the Environmental Quality Index. This type of quantitative research with multiple linear regression model analysis. Using panel data in four provinces of Kalimantan Island in the 2010-2021 period. The results showed that population density has a significant effect on environmental quality. Meanwhile, GDP Per Capita and Foreign Direct Investment partially do not significantly affect environmental quality. The three independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on the environmental quality index.

Abstract

The food estate program located in Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, focuses on the development of the agricultural sector. However, research using a qualitative approach has found that the increase in rice production in Pulang Pisau Regency, as an outlying area, is inversely proportional to the high price of rice in Palangkaraya City, the core or central area of activities in Central Kalimantan Province. This occurs because the rice production in Pulang Pisau Regency is directly bought by traders, who generally come from South Kalimantan. The rice is then processed in South Kalimantan and resold in the form of premium quality rice to Palangkaraya City. The Dayak culture of the indigenous population of Central Kalimantan, which lacks trading culture, provides an opportunity for the Banjar people, who have long been known as traders. As a result, although rice production in Pulang Pisau Regency increases, the price of rice remains high in Palangkaraya City due to the long production and distribution costs.

Abstract

Local economic growth through innovation is often faced with a number of challenges that can hinder its adoption and development. These include infrastructure, access to technology, human resources, financial and policy support, and cultural barriers to change. The research method used in this study is the literature research method. The results show that limited access to resources, technology and specialized skills are the main factors limiting the adoption of innovations at the local level. Inadequate infrastructure such as weak internet connectivity, inefficient transportation networks, and unstable electricity supply were found to be major barriers. In addition, inadequate financial support and government policies that are less supportive of the innovation climate create additional constraints for local businesses. On the human resources aspect, there is a gap in the skills required for innovation, signaling a clear need for capacity building through education and training. While from a cultural aspect, resistance to change was identified as a significant barrier, requiring a more encompassing approach to engage local communities in the innovation process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how taxes, interest rates, inflation, and economic growth affect investment in Indonesia. The variables analyzed included economic growth, interest rates, inflation, and taxes in relation to investment in Indonesia. The study used time series data from 2003 to 2022 and applied quantitative analysis, focusing on measurable data presented through equations, tables, and other formats. The empirical findings indicate that interest rates and economic growth both have a positive and significant impact on investment. While taxes also show a positive impact, their effect is not statistically significant. In contrast, inflation has a negative impact on investment. These findings may provide valuable insights for policymakers in formulating strategies to promote investment in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between economic growth and environmental quality in four provinces on the island of Kalimantan: West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan, during the period from 2013 to 2020. The focus of this research is to analyze the impact of government spending, domestic investment, and labor productivity on the Environmental Quality Index (EQI) and economic growth in each province. The background of this research relates to the issue of sustainable economic development in Kalimantan, which faces significant challenges such as deforestation, pollution, and climate change. While economic growth, reflected by Regional Gross Domestic Product (RGDP), has benefited societal welfare, it has also negatively affected environmental quality. This quantitative study employs panel data regression analysis and path analysis methods to evaluate data on government spending, domestic investment, labor productivity, EQI, and economic growth from 2013 to 2020. The regression results indicate that government spending negatively impacts both EQI and economic growth, while domestic investment and labor productivity positively affect both. Additionally, EQI negatively influences economic growth. Path analysis reveals no indirect effect of government spending, domestic investment, and labor productivity on economic growth through EQI. The findings suggest a negative relationship between economic growth and environmental quality, where increased economic growth tends to decrease environmental quality. This research aims to contribute to policymaking related to sustainable economic development, particularly in balancing economic growth with environmental preservation in Kalimantan. Furthermore, it may serve as a reference for future studies focusing on similar topics.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out whether Income in the Mining Sector, Average Years of Schooling, Budget Surplus, and Democracy Index influence Economic Growth in 8 Districts in South Kalimantan Province. This research is quantitative in nature using secondary data, namely 2009-2020 panel data which was calculated using Panel Data Analysis through the Eviews 10 program. The research results show that Income in the Mining Sector, Average Years of Schooling, Budget Surplus, and Democracy Index simultaneously have a significant effect on Economic Growth. Meanwhile, partially there is a significant effect on the Average Years of Schooling variable. The magnitude of the influence of the variable is 53% while the remaining 47% is influenced by other variables outside the model.
