Abstract

The objectives of this research are 1) testing and analyzing the level of sigma convergence in South Kalimantan; 2) testing and analyzing the convergent beta, including the absolute beta convergence and conditional beta convergence. This study uses static panel data covering 13 regencies/cities in South Kalimantan observed between 2010 and 2019. The data analysis uses the ordinary least square (OLS) regression model. The results showed a sigma convergence marked by a declining variation coefficient in each regency/city. The absolute beta and conditional beta also converged. Poor areas' economic growth is faster than the prosperous regions so they catch up. There has to be close coordination between the central and local governments in formulating policies in handling government and private investment and improving workers' productivity in the agricultural and mining sectors in South Kalimantan.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of Green Mining Technology and Land Reclamation Policy on Ecosystem Stability and Mine Productivity in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Using structural equation modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS), data from a sample of mining operations were analyzed to test hypotheses regarding these relationships. Results indicate significant positive relationships between both Green Mining Technology and Land Reclamation Policy with Ecosystem Stability and Mine Productivity. The findings underscore the dual benefits of sustainable practices and policy interventions in enhancing environmental sustainability and economic productivity in mining operations.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between gender inequality and GDP development in several fields, such as health, education, economics, and employment. A panel random effect regression model is used to analyze the data in order to achieve this. This study found that economic growth in South Kalimantan is negatively and significantly affected by gender inequality in education, as indicated by the average ratio of school time. According to the life expectancy ratio, the gender disparity in health has a small but favorable impact on economic growth in South Kalimantan. When the per capita expenditure ratio is used to examine economic disparities in South Kalimantan, a negative and significant effect becomes apparent. Gender imbalance in the workplace considerably retards South Kalimantan's economic growth, as seen by the ratio of women to males in the working force.

Abstract

This study utilizes VOSviewer to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the agricultural economics literature, identifying thematic clusters, research trends, research opportunities, and collaboration networks among authors. Thematic cluster analysis reveals distinct research domains such as macroeconomic impacts, technology in agriculture, productivity, and efficiency. Research trend analysis over time shows a shift from foundational studies towards more integrated approaches focusing on the impact of technological advancements and policy changes on agricultural productivity and efficiency, especially from the mid-1990s to the 2010s. Further, the exploration of less illuminated areas within the network maps highlights underexplored topics such as agricultural markets, labor, and exports, presenting new opportunities for future research. Author collaboration networks reveal both dense clusters of frequent collaborators and key individuals linking various research areas, reflecting the collaborative nature of the field. These findings underscore the evolving dynamics of agricultural economics research and provide a roadmap for addressing both micro and macro-level challenges within the sector.

Abstract

Untuk itu, diperlukan strategi kebijakan pembangunan energi terbarukan ramah lingkungan.ABSTRACTHigh economic growth that is not accompanied by a balance between environmental conservation will create a development dilemma. GDP can drive improvements in people's living standards, but if GDP contributed by the energy sector is not managed properly, it will cause environmental damage due to the increased volume of carbon emissions. This contradicts the goals of sustainable development, one of the main focuses of which is addressing environmental issues and natural resource conservation by utilizing renewable energy sources. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of shocks and the contribution of energy and carbon emissions to economic growth in Indonesia from 1970 to 2024 using the Structural Vector Autoregression (SVAR) method with control variables of gross fixed capital formation and foreign debt as sources of state financing. The findings show that energy and carbon emissions respond positively to GDP shocks, slowing towards equilibrium. The largest contribution to GDP is carbon emissions, while energy and carbon emissions contribute with fluctuating downward movements. Therefore, an environmentally friendly renewable energy development policy strategy is needed

Abstract

Research Background: Sustainable agriculture is increasingly becoming a global priority, including in Brazil, which is one of the major producers of agricultural commodities. Biotechnology in plant breeding has provided an important solution to increase plant productivity and resistance to pests, diseases, and extreme environmental conditions. Research Objectives: This study aims to explore the role of biotechnology in crop breeding in Brazil and its impact on sustainable agriculture. Research Method: This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with case study analysis on major crops such as soybeans, corn, cotton, and sugarcane. Data were collected through interviews with farmers and biotechnology experts as well as literature analysis. Research Results: The results show that the application of biotechnology increases plant productivity by up to 30%, as well as strengthens plant resistance to pests and climate change. However, the adoption of this technology is still limited to large commodities, with uneven access among smallholders. Research Conclusion: Biotechnology plays an important role in supporting sustainable agriculture in Brazil, but efforts are needed to expand access to these technologies so that more farmers, including small-scale ones, can take advantage of them. Supportive policies and adequate infrastructure are needed to accelerate the adoption of biotechnology across Brazil's agriculture

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of coal price productivity, coal production and mining land area on economic growth in South Kalimantan Province in 1990-2020. The type of research used is quantitative research, using multiple linear regression analysis. The data was obtained from the South Kalimantan Province Central Statistics Agency and the South Kalimantan Province Energy and Mineral Resources Service. The research results show that coal prices, coal production and mining land area simultaneously have a significant effect on economic growth in South Kalimantan Province. Then, partially coal prices and mining land area have a positive and significant effect and coal production has a negative and significant effect on the economic growth of South Kalimantan Province in 1990-2020.
