Abstract

This research is to produce inquiry-based mechanics teaching materials to train critical thinking skills of Physics FKIP students, Pattimura University, Ambon. The research design used the Kemp model (1994) and the learning process was packaged in an inquiry setting with a total sample size of 26 students in the 2020/2021 school year. The data collected were in the form of teaching material validation data, critical thinking skills test instrument validation data, critical thinking skills data, and student response data. The data analysis techniques used include: qualitative descriptive analysis including: the results of validation of teaching materials, the results of instrument validation tests of critical thinking skills, the results of critical thinking skills, and the results of student responses. The results showed that: 1) the validity of the student teaching materials developed was categorized as valid; 2) the validity of the developed critical thinking skills test instrument was categorized as valid; 3) in the percentage of critical thinking skills there is an increase in value from pretest to posttest by more than 40%; 4) Student responses to teaching materials and the implementation of learning are very positive and the lowest percentage is obtained, namely 85% satisfaction with a very good assessment. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the development of inquiry-based mechanics teaching materials can train critical thinking skills of Physics FKIP students, Pattimura University, Ambon.

Abstract

Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dinyatakan mutu pendidikan di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengethui peran instrumental kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam upaya meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi literature dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dari reduksi data, data display, dan conclusion drawing/verification kemudian ditriangulasi. Hasil analisis kemudian dideskripsikan secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan, bahwa peran kepala sekolah sebagai educator adalah merencanakan, melaksanakan, menilai hasil pembelajaran, membimbing dan melatih, serta meneliti. Peran manajerial kepala sekolah adalah merencanakan, mengorganisasikan, memimpin dan mengendalikan usaha yang dilakukan anggota organisasi serta memberdayakan sumber daya pendidikan. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai administrator adalah mengatur penataaksanaan sistem administrasi pada bidang-bidang: kesiswaan, kurikulum dan pembelajaran, personil, keuangan, tata usaha, sarana prasarana, dan hubungan masyarakat. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai supervisor adalah memantau membina dan memperbaiki proses belajar-mengajar di kelas atau disekolah yang dipimpinnya. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai leader adalah manajemen peningkatan mutu pendidikan, dimana kepala sekolah mampu untuk meningkatkan mutu setiap tahunnya. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai leader menyediakan layanan-layanan untuk menunjang peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai inovator pendidikan terletak strategis untuk menjalin hubungan harmonis, menemukan sesuatu baru, mengintegrasikan kegiatan, mengembangkan model pembelajaran inovatif dan memberikan contoh keteladanan. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai motivator untuk tenaga pendidik agar kinerjanya dapat ditingkatkan dan dipertanggungjawabkan, sehingga menjadi berkualitas dan siswa dapat meningkatkan prestasinya.

Abstract

To create a good quality of generation, education must be carried out from an early age, in this case through Early Childhood Education (PAUD), namely education aimed at children from birth to the age of six. Quality education is not only seen from the quality of its graduates, but also includes how schools are able to meet customer needs in accordance with applicable quality standards. Principals are required to have the right leadership and strategy to increase the professionalism of teaching staff in their schools, so they are able to create a conducive school climate, provide advice to school members, provide encouragement to all teaching staff and implement an interesting learning model. In addition to carrying out its functions, the principal has the task of developing a strategy and mission so that he knows which way to go and knows how to get there in order to achieve the operational goals of an educational institution. In improving the quality of education the principal must improve the quality of a teacher in order to achieve a better quality of education. Make a program in one academic year, in the form of an annual program and a semester program. Adding infrastructure so that the teaching and learning process can run well.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop flashcard media for introducing the culture of Central Java. This study also used development research (R&D), which was carried out in two trials, namely the one-to-one trial and the small group trial. The subjects in this study were to get to know the culture of the Central Java region, while the objects in this study were 10 students. The data were collected using guidelines in the form of observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The analysis used is qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the Flashcard media developed through a series of trials and validations is declared feasible. The results of the one-to-one trial get a percentage of 87.50%, and the results of the small group trial get a percentage of 83.60%; both categories are very good or very decent. Therefore, based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Flashcard media is appropriate for use in learning to introduce Central Java regional culture to students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya penguasaan peserta didik pada materi fluida dinamis. Penggunaan media pembelajaran yang kurang bervariasi membuat peserta didik kesulitan memahami konsep-konsep abstrak, sehingga penggunaan media flipbook heyzine dalam model pembelajaran discovery learning diharapkan dapat membantu peserta didik memahami materi. Tipe penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan desain one group pretest posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 18 peserta didik kelas XI MIA di SMA Negeri Maluku Tengah. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes, kemudian dilakukan uji N-Gain untuk mengetahui peningkatan penguasaan peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan materi peserta didik sebelum pembelajaran masih rendah, dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 14,74. Setelah pembelajaran nilai yang diperoleh mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dengan nilai rata-rata tes akhir yang mencapai 82,16. Sedangkan, rata-rata hasil nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,79. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa pembelajaran yang diterapkan dengan media flipbook heyzine dalam model discovery learning berhasil meningkatkan penguasaan peserta didik terhadap materi fluida dinamis.

Abstract

This study investigates the mediating role of technology-based learning in the relationship between students’ perception of cultural diversity and their inclusive attitudes in Jakarta’s multi-campus higher-education environment. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 280 students across five universities—Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, BINUS University, Universitas Katolik Atma Jaya, and Universitas Tarumanagara—through a Likert-scale survey. The variables measured included perception of cultural diversity (X), technology-based learning (Z), and inclusive attitude (Y). Data were analyzed using multiple regression with mediation testing via the Baron and Kenny (1986) approach and Sobel test using SPSS 26. The results reveal that perception of cultural diversity significantly predicts both technology-based learning (β = 0.55, p < 0.001) and inclusive attitude (β = 0.42, p < 0.001). When the mediator is included, the direct effect decreases to β = 0.19, while the indirect effect remains significant (Sobel z = 5.98, p < 0.001), confirming partial mediation. The inclusion of the mediator also increases the model’s explanatory power (ΔR² = 0.16). These findings indicate that digital learning environments act as catalysts that convert intercultural awareness into inclusive behavior through collaborative and reflective online experiences. The study concludes that fostering inclusive attitudes requires both positive cultural perception and deliberate integration of inclusive digital pedagogy. It contributes to theoretical understanding of digital mediation and provides practical insights for curriculum design and institutional policy in promoting inclusive education

Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ poor mastery of the concepts of momentum and impulse. The findings indicate that some students still struggle to solve physics problems and tend to memorize concepts without gaining a deep understanding of the material. This study aims to improve students’ mastery of momentum and impulse through the application of the Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) learning model. The research design used was a quantitative descriptive study. The research population is all students of class X of Science SMA Negeri 6 Seram Bagian Timur, which totals 56 people. The research sample was 16 students of class X IPA2 SMA Negeri 6 Seram Bagian Timur. Research data were collected through a pretest, Student Worksheets (LKPD), and a posttest, and were then analyzed descriptively based on the minimum passing score (KKM) and N-Gain values. The analysis results show that students’ prior knowledge of momentum and impulse was still relatively low, with a pretest average score of 52.91. The analysis of the worksheets revealed that students had met the minimum passing score, with an average score of 83. In addition, the posttest results showed an improvement in mastery of the material, with an average score of 84.56 and an average N-Gain of 0.67, which falls into the moderate category. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the application of the TAPPS learning model can increase the mastery of momentum and impulse materials in class X IPA2 students of SMA Negeri 6 Seram Bagian Timur.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of student engagement in physics classes at SMP Negeri 4 Kairatu, which has resulted in low cognitive abilities among students. Therefore, it is necessary to implement a learning model that encourages students to actively discover concepts through activities such as observing, formulating problems, gathering information, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. One such learning model is Discovery Learning. This study aims to improve students’ cognitive abilities regarding the topic of vibrations through the application of the Discovery Learning model. The research design used is a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted with 26 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Kairatu. Data collection was conducted using both test and non-test methods. The test instrument consisted of 10 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions administered during the pretest and posttest, while the non-test instrument consisted of Student Worksheets (LKPD) used to evaluate cognitive abilities during the learning process. The research results show that on the pre-test, all students (100%) were classified as failing, with an average achievement score of 13.60. After implementing the Discovery Learning model, the students’ average achievement score on the post-test increased to 87.47, classified as good. Analysis of cognitive abilities during the learning process revealed an average score of 82.5, classified as good. Additionally, the N-Gain test results showed an average score of 0.85, which falls into the high category. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model is effective in improving students’ cognitive abilities regarding the topic of vibrations in the 8th-grade class at SMP Negeri 4 Kairatu.
