Karya sastra lahir dari latar belakang dan dorongan dasar manusia untuk mengungkapkan eksisitensi dirinya. Karya sastra lahir bukan dari ruang kosong melompong, tetapi dari sebuah interaksi dengan realitas kehidupan manusia. Salah satu realitas dalam kehidupan dunia kontemporer sekarang ini adalah adanya krisis identitas dan subjektivitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menemukan dan mendeskripsikan habitus dan arena dalam novel Taman Api karya Yonathan Rahrdjo. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik pustaka. Dengan menggunakan teori medan sastra Pierre Bourdieu, ditemukan bahwa (1) novel Taman Api menggambarkan bentuk habitus atau cara pandang seseorang dalam menentukan tindakan. Habitus agen terus bergerak dari waktu ke waktu. Pergerakan itu diakibatkan oleh pengalaman, didikan, atau bahkan pergaulan; (2) arena dalam novel Taman Api berupa arena kedokteran yang dianggap arena orang berkelas. Namun demikian, dalam arena ini agen-agenya tidak mencerminkan akhlak yang baik. Arena berikutnya adalah arena bisnis di mana setiap agen berupaya menjalankan fungsi dengan sebaik-baiknya agar jaringan yang dibangun tetap bertahan untuk kepentingan bersama yaitu saling menguntungkan. Arena yang terakhir adalah arena waria. Setiap agen dalam arena ini dianggap perusak tatanan moralitas, dan sering menjadi sasaran kekerasan penguasa.

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 17 Ambon. Data penelitian ini berupa hasil tes menulis puisi yang diambil dari setiap siklus. Sampel berjumlah 25 siswa. Data tes dianalisis menggunakan rumus, yakni nilai siswa diperoleh dari hasil bagi jumlah skor yang diperoleh siswa dengan skor ideal. Hasil tes siswa kemudian dikualifikasi sesuai kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar menulis puisi siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 17 Ambon dengan menggunakan media gambar berseri. Hal itu terlihat dari jumlah siswa yang mencapai KKM pada siklus pertama yakni 3 orang dengan nilai rata-rata semua siswa 51,70 menjadi 19 orang pada siklus kedua dengan nilai rata-rata semua siswa 75.Kata kunci: Media Gambar Berseri, Peningkatan Hasil Belajar, Menulis Puisi, Penelitian Tindakan KelasABSTRACTThe aims of this research is to improve the ability to write poetry for VIII-1 grade students at SMP Negeri 17 Ambon. The data of this research are in the form of poetry writing test results taken from each cycle. The sample consisted of 25 students. Test data were analyzed using a formula that is the student scores obtained from the results for the total score obtained by students with an ideal score. Student test results are then qualified according to predetermined criteria. The results showed that there was an increase in the learning outcomes of writing poetry for VIII-1 grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Ambon by using serial media. This can be seen from the number of students who reached the KKM in the first cycle namely 3 people with an average value of all students 51.70. It becomes 19 people in the second cycle with an average value of all students 75.Keyword: Serial Image Media, Learning Outcomes Improvement, Writing Poetry, Classroom Action Research

The PBL Model Implementation to Improve Explanation Text Writing Ability Students of Class XI MIA-1 SMA Negeri 14 Maluku Tengah ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI MIA-1 SMA Negeri 14 Maluku Tengah. Data penelitian berupa hasil tes menulis teks eksplanasi setiap siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI MIA-1 SMA Negeri 14 Maluku Tengah tahun pelajaran 2020/2021 semester genap yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Nilai akhir setiap siswa diperoleh dari jumlah jawaban benar dibagi jumlah soal kemudian dikalikan dengan skor ideal (100). Nilai akhir tersebut kemudian dikonversikan sesuai kriteria yang ditentukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI MIA-1 SMA Negeri 14 Maluku Tengah dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning. Hal itu terlihat dari jumlah siswa yang mencapai KKM pada siklus I yakni 16 siswa menjadi 28 siswa pada siklus II. Kata kunci: kemampuan menulis, model pembelajaran problem based learning, PTK, teks eksplanasi. ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to improve the ability to write explanatory texts for students of class XI MIA-1 SMA Negeri 14 Maluku Tengah. The research data were in the form of test results in writing explanatory text each cycle. The research subjects were students of class XI MIA-1 SMA Negeri 14 Maluku Tengah in the academic year 2020/2021 even semester, totaling 36 students. The final score for each student is obtained from the number of correct answers divided by the number of questions then multiplied by the ideal score (100). The final score is then converted according to the specified criteria. The results showed that there was an increase in the writing explanatory text ability for class XI MIA-1 SMA Negeri 14 Maluku Tengah using the problem based learning model. This can be seen from the number of students who reached the KKM (minimum standard of completeness in achieving learning result) in cycle I, namely 16 students to 28 students in cycle II.Keyword: writing skills, problem based learning model, PTK (Action research), explanatory text.

This paper aimed to describe learning to write as part of 21st century life skills. Writing as basic literacy is the main material in the 2013 curriculum. One type of writing is writing instructions which require the abilities and skills acquired from educational institutions to be applied in everyday life. Writing instructions is one of the four language skills should be mastered by students. Therefore, Indonesian language teachers are required to master the material for writing instructions both theoretically and practically. Theoretically, it explained about the meaning of writing, types of writing, writing instructions. Practically, they were implemented in learning according to Regulations of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 22 of 2016 and Number 103 of 2014 concerning on standard process. In those regulations, it is explained about graduate competency standards, syllabus, and lesson plan. The first step that needs to be done before preparing the lesson plan is to analyze the graduate competence standard (GCS). After analyzing the GCS, it is then translated into a syllabus. Furthermore, the writing of lesson plans developed from the syllabus to be a direction of learning in achieving basic competencies. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a correlational design. The purpose of this study was to describe the differences in the ability to listen to the news of students in class XI-IPS SMA Negeri 14 Maluku Tengah. Data was collected by using observation, questionnaire, and test techniques. The samples of this research were students of class XI IPS-1 (23 people) and students of class XI IPS-2 (20 people). Data analysis was carried out using SPSS version 20. The results of this study were (1) the average posttest score for the experiment class was higher than the average posttest score for the control class; (2) there was an increase in the average score in the experiment class from 81.98 to 88.10; (3) the normality test and homogeneity test showed that the data were normally distributed because the significance value was more than 0.05; (4) there is a strong and significant correlation between the results of the pretest and posttest in the experiment class.

The purpose of this research is to find and describe the relationship between Hemingway’s life story in A Farewell to Arms and his real life. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with a historical-biographical approach, that is, an approach that sees literature as the life and era of its author. The research data is in the form of novel texts that describe the characters and the setting of the place. The data were obtained by using the reading-note technique, namely reading the data carefully and recording the parts of the data related to the setting, characters, and characterizations. The data were analyzed by describing the setting and characters in A Farewell to Arms then compared with the data on The German Wars 1914–194, World War I and http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_Hemingway. The results of the analysis show that there is a relationship between the character and place in A Farewell to Arms and the author’s life.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menemukan dan mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi ungkapan tradisional masyarakat Pulau Buru dalam wenek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa pernyataan informan dan penggunaan ungkapan di masyarakat. Data diperoleh dari empat informan, yakni penduduk asli Pulau Buru. Kegiatan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik pengamatan, wawancara mendalam, dan perekaman. Prosedur analisis data menggunakan model spiral, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan lingkaran hermeneutik. Hasil penelitian, yakni bentuk ungkapan tradisional masyarakat Pulau Buru dalam nyanyian rakyat terdiri atas: (1) ungkapan dengan benda; (2) bagian tubuh; (3) nama binatang; (4) nama tumbuhan; dan (5) warna dan rasa. Fungsi ungkapan tradisional, yaitu sebagai (1) pengendali, penggerak, dan tolok ukur ucapan dan perbuatan; (2) pembentuk akhlak dan moral; (3) ekspresi prinsip hidup; (4) proyeksi harapan dan cita-cita masyarakat; dan (5) sarana menyampaikan kritik.

Writing is one of four language skills. Of the four language skills, writing ranks last. That is, the ability to write can be achieved if the other three skills (listening, speaking, and reading) have been acquired first. The ability to write poetry is one of the competencies that must be mastered by junior high school students. The fact proves that not all junior high school students are able to write well, especially writing poetry. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to identify and overcome these problems. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to write poetry through natural media of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Ambon. The method used is descriptive quantitative method using statistical formulas and calculations. The main data of this study were collected by test technique. The test was conducted on 30 students. The results showed that the ability of eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Ambon in write poetry using natural media was good.

This research aims to determine the instrumental role of social media as a functional means of developing character education. The method used in this research was qualitative. Data collection techniques used in this research were literature studies and documentation. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of this research indicated that the instrumental role of social media is a functional means of developing character education, which plays a role in shaping the character of students who are skilled in understanding information. In the context of character education, the ability to understand information is to shape the character of students who think critically. Another role of social media in the development of character education is to form honest, open, transparent and courageous characters. Character education learning that is built is to teach students to dare to convey the truth of an event through social media. Another role of social media is to shape the character of tolerance. To teach a tolerant character to students, the teacher can do this by inviting them to look for and watch social media that contains tolerance. The development of character education with social media can be done by asking students to spread tolerance through words through their respective accounts.

Linguistic landscape is one area of sociolinguistics that examines specifically the phenomenon of language use in public spaces, be it monolingual, bilingual or multilingual. Islamic boarding schools as geographically exclusive Islamic educational institutions have a linguistic landscape phenomenon that is characterized and based on Arabic. This is in line with the Islamic orientation built in pesantren education. This study aims to explore the use of Arabic in the public space of Islamic boarding schools and its contribution to the development of Arabic language skills and Islamic knowledge of students. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis. In this study, data collection used the observing method and the documentation method. The listening method is used to collect data in the form of writing while the documentation method is used to collect data in the form of pictures taken by cell phone. All data is processed and given a code and then selected based on who produced the text. The results of this study are: (1) The linguistic landscape of Arabic in the pesantren environment is categorized into 3 categories: verses of the Qur'an, Matan Hadith Nabawi, and Maqolah of Ulama. (2) The linguistic landscape of Arabic is part of the pesantren learning process indirectly, especially in supporting classroom learning so that it is internalized in life. (3) The linguistic landscape of Arabic has significance in developing the Arabic language skills and Islamic knowledge of the students in the pesantren environment.
