Abstract

Low financial literacy in Sarigadung Village is caused by unstructured and simplistic household bookkeeping. This community service program conducted financial management socialization and mentoring in collaboration with PKH facilitators for 30 farmer households over four weeks. The activities included counseling, mentoring, and distributing financial record booklets. Evaluation was carried out through interviews and income–expenditure evaluation sheets. Results showed that 80% of participants were able to record finances independently, and 75% expressed satisfaction with the activities. This program successfully improved community financial literacy and supported the economic stability of farming households in Sarigadung Village

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the quality of life in Sungai Bangkal Village by integrating appropriate technologies for clean water, household food security, and digital capacity building. The program was implemented from 9 October to 18 December 2025 using a participatory approach with two main partners: a Farmer Group and a Community Health Post (Posyandu). Interventions included constructing a filtration house and installing an ultrafiltration unit, introducing vertical hydroponics for limited land, and training participants to use spreadsheets for administrative and financial recording. Field-based simple tests indicated a reduction in water turbidity of approximately 90%, while hydroponic cultivation achieved about 80% plant survival to the early harvest stage. Pre–post evaluation among 20 Farmer Group respondents showed marked improvements in record-keeping (0–75), management understanding (25–85), clean-water SOP development (0–90), business planning (0–80), technical team formation (0–95), and management capability (25–85). Among 20 Posyandu respondents, average knowledge increased by 61.6%, particularly regarding the clean water–nutrition–stunting nexus and healthy-living practices. The program strengthened cross-group collaboration and data-driven sustainability

Abstract

BEM Impact Community Empowerment Activities in Sungai Bangkal Village, Sungai Tabuk District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan were carried out on 9 October–18 December 2025 with a participatory approach from two main partners, namely the Farmers Group and the Posyandu Group, through the integration of clean water ultrafiltration technology, household food security and digital literacy training. Digital literacy training activities were carried out as an effort to empower salted fish processed MSMEs in facing the challenges of low added value, weak financial records and limited market access. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the activity show that selling salted fish can increase the income of the residents of Sungai Bangkal Village. Educate an important understanding regarding the calculation of production costs as a whole so that MSMEs can set rational and profitability-oriented selling prices. Meanwhile, the integration of clean and neat packaging, e-commerce and Google Maps has been proven to increase product competitiveness and expand market reach. These findings confirm that empowering MSMEs based on preparing financial reports and digital marketing makes a real contribution to the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the Sungai Bangkal Village community.
