Abstract

Penulis menggunakan kata kunci pencarian yaitu “meaning in life” AND “posttraumatic growth” AND “natural disasters”.

Abstract

Background: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) occurs as triggered or exposure to traumatic events. Psychotherapies have been proven to be effective and superior for people with PTSD. Several psychotherapies have been developed with different approaches. Yet the application of psychotherapy is rarely found and provided by professionals to those who need it in Indonesia. Purpose: This study aimed to figure out the application of PTSD psychotherapies for people with PTSD based on studies conducted in Indonesia. Methods: The review was reported following the PRISMA statement for scoping reviews. A systematic screening was performed in CINAHL, Cochrane library, Embase, Portal Garuda, PubMed, Scopus, as well as manual searches without language and date restrictions. The quality of the study was determined based on the risk of bias. Cochrane risk of bias 2.0 (RoB 2.0) and MINORS were used to evaluate the risk of bias of RCT and quasi-experimental studies, respectively. Results: Five RCTs and four quasi-experimental studies published from 2008 to 2022 (n=465) were employed in this review. Three types of therapies were conducted for people with PTSD; five CBT studies, two EMDR studies, and two SHAT studies, performed in one day up to six weeks, one to 15 sessions, and 30 to 60 minutes for each session. All studies evaluated PTSD as the primary outcome, while the most measured secondary outcomes were depression and anxiety symptoms. Conclusions: CBT was the most frequent therapy for Indonesian people with PTSD, followed by EMDR and SHAT. The application of therapies varied in frequency, duration, length of therapy, and component. Further research on the implementation of various types of psychotherapy for people with PTSD will be required.

Abstract

Introduction: Suicide remains a significant global health and social problem, with Indonesia showing a lower suicide rate compared to other Asian countries. However, the underreporting of cases in Indonesia suggests that the incidence rate of suicide is higher than documented. This study aimed to identify the risk of suicide among Indonesian college students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 557 students from three universities across Java Island, recruited using the purposive sampling method. The Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSSI) was used to assess suicide risk.  The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the prevalence of suicide-related outcomes. Additionally, linear regression analysis was conducted to examine the associations between suicide risk, suicidal ideation, suicide planning, and self-control in relation to age, sex, and year of study. Results: The average suicide risk among college students was 4.04 (SD= 6.60; 95%CI = 3.49 – 4.59) out of 38, indicating a generally low risk. However, 34.6% of students experienced the desire to die at least once, and 12.7% had a strong desire to make active suicide attempts. Furthermore, 15.8% of students found suicide an acceptable solution to their problems. Gender was found to be significant predictor of overall suicide risk, ideation and self-control. Conclusions: These findings highlight the need for targeted interventions and support for college students to prevent suicide and promote mental well-being.

Abstract

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is one of the leading causes of global morbidity and mortality. Patients undergoing hemodialysis often experience fatigue, which significantly affects their quality of life, productivity, and psychological well-being. One of the non-pharmacological interventions that can be applied is intradialytic flexibility exercise in the form of range of motion (ROM). Purpose: To determine the effect of intradialytic flexibility exercise range of motion on fatigue levels among CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. Method: A quasi-experimental study using a one-group pre-post test design was conducted from May to July 2025 at Al Ihsan Regional General Hospital, West Bandung. Purposive sampling was used to select 18 participants. The independent variable in this study was the Intradialytic Flexibility Exercise Range of Motion Program, while the dependent variable was the level of fatigue. Data analysis was performed using univariate analysis in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using the Cochran test. Translated with DeepL.com (free version) Results: Before the intervention, 77.8% of participants experienced severe fatigue. After 8 weeks of intervention, all participants (100%) showed a decrease in fatigue to a mild category. Statistical analysis indicated a significant difference in fatigue levels before and after the intervention (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Intradialytic flexibility exercise range of motion is effective in reducing fatigue levels among CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. This intervention can be considered a non-pharmacological nursing strategy to improve patients’ quality of life.   Keywords: Chronic Kidney Disease; Fatigue; Hemodialysis; Intradialytic Exercise; Range of Motion. Setelah 8 minggu intervensi, seluruh partisipan (100%) mengalami penurunan tingkat fatigue menjadi kategori ringan. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan tingkat fatigue sebelum dan sesudah intervensi (p < 0.05). Simpulan: Penerapan intradialytic flexibility exercise range of motion efektif menurunkan tingkat kelelahan pada pasien CKD yang menjalani hemodialisa.   Kata Kunci: Chronic Kidney Disease; Fatigue; Hemodialisa; Intradialytic Exercise; Range of Motion.
