Abstract

This study aims to discuss the relationship between religion and personality from the perspective of Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The results of this study indicate that Freud viewed religion as an illusion because it was born from human desires. According to him, religion is just an outlet for disappointment and human escape in the face of conflict, depression, stress, anxiety, and so on. Freud believed that a person's religious behavior is in the subconscious. Religious behavior is solely driven by the desire to avoid a dangerous situation that will befall him and give him a sense of security. For that purpose, humans create a concept that can protect themselves from all these dangers. The concept is summed up in the word "God". The God he himself created in his mind and that is what he worships. Meanwhile, the ritual of worshiping God is very dependent on examples shown by previous people who did it.

Abstract

Technology has had a significant influence on the way humans think philosophically. On the one hand, technology can help in increasing a person's awareness of himself and his environment by providing tools that can help a person find out his health condition or provide information about the environment. However, on the other hand, technology can also affect concepts related to consciousness such as freedom, identity, and rationality, and has the potential to cause addiction which can reduce a person's ability to think critically and independently. This article uses a qualitative research method by focusing on studying related literature texts so as to find a conclusion on the problems above that, it is important for humans to understand and use technology wisely so they don't depend too much on technology and can use it in a balanced way.

Abstract

Tolerance in religion and secularization are contradictory. However, it cannot be denied that both can run alone, because secularization in the absence of tolerance in religion will give rise to immoral attitudes, while tolerance in religion without secularization will only create a constant civilization. The purpose of this study is to find answers to the notion of tolerance and secularization so that a relationship can be found between the two using qualitative research methods based on a literature review approach and this research fully uses library research. The results showed that in the West secularization is placed in an effort to place the potential that exists in humans which is accompanied by the advancement of science without having to be hindered by religious doctrines, so that secularization runs safely. Whereas in the East secularization has always been identified with the contradictory that exists in religion, thus placing its civilization only on the route of stagnation and backwardness due to long-entrenched traditions. In fact, secularization itself is a form of human liberation from religions that are worldly rather than sacred in nature, while tolerance is a view that does not damage the life of modern society which has a lot of secular attitudes, because the teachings of tolerance itself are collective norms that are born into solutions to the history of religious conflicts and beliefs of secular societies. Meanwhile, secularization also needs to embody tolerance in it in order to create a process of mutual understanding and learning between religion and the secular mindset in the modern era. Therefore, tolerance and secularization can bridge harmony and peace in modern society.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss how Thomas Aquinas' philosophy of justice views justice in polygamy. The research method used is a qualitative type through literature study. The results of the discussion of this study are based on Thomas Aquinas' theory, the position of husband and wife is equal and balanced. Thomas Aquinas stated that justice must be based on equality (equality of status, equal rights and obligations, etc.). However, the injustices found in the Marriage Law, firstly, the Marriage Law only provides opportunities for polygamy for husbands, and secondly, the prerequisites for polygamy only focus on women's physical disabilities. There must be a revision of the marriage law to provide equal rights between husband and wife.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the ontological and political consequences of the subject in Max Stirner's philosophy of egoism. This research is included in qualitative research, therefore the researcher only conducts a literature study. The results and discussion of this study are that egoism in Max Stirner's thinking is not egoism in the sense of acting for one's own benefit. Stirner's egoism is closer to the notions of self-mastery and self-regulation. Stirner's egoism also needs to be discussed in relation to the concept of the self. The I is this nothingness, so the ā€˜I’ is not bound by anything, it is unbound and subject to its own morality, rationality, thoughts, even desires. The I must control and master himself so as not to be subdued by those things. Through this concept of the I comes the egotistical subject. The conclusion of this study is that the understanding of Stirner's egoistic subject produces two consequences: ontological and political. Ontological consequences related to the rejection of universality and affirmation of singularity. The political consequence is that politics must be understood as an attempt to reject essentialist identities and generalities.

Abstract

The world political situation is sometimes difficult to predict. Tensions between major countries often raise global concerns which are feared to trigger collective chaos which seriously endangers human existence on this earth. However, what do you mean by these concerns "granted" by Putin's decision to invade Ukraine? Various kinds of motives and reasons indeed surround the event. However, in particular, the economic justification becomes one thing that stands out compared to other motives. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the working principle of the economic system, namely capitalism during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The method used is qualitative with the type of literature study. The results achieved in this study are that this war brought fresh air to Russia which managed to gain financially during this trade. This advantage stems from Putin's response which stopped sending energy resources to countries that dared to oppose it, especially the European Union. So sales were diverted to Asian countries with a larger sales scale and a payment system adapted to the Russian currency.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to answer the challenges of human existence in the metaverse innovation age through Martin Heidegger's existentialism. The method used in this research is a type of qualitative research through literature study. The results of this study, according to Heidegger, the essence of technology is a way of revealing reality. The essence of technique is found in the ontological revolution that occurred in the modern era. The Metaverse creates even more sinister opportunities by shifting human existence in this era. According to Heidegger, humans are not self-creation and even an abandoned existence, but humans must be responsible for their existence. Humans must understand the possibilities. What we call "feel" easily translates into numbers that are easy for machines to predict. Humans and nature no longer have any special uniqueness in front of technology. Humans and nature are just data (numbers) standing resources ready to be exploited.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss juvenile delinquency according to the social philosophy perspective of Thomas Hobbes. This research study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a documentation study approach. Qualitative research methods are tools for exploring and understanding the meanings that a number of individuals or groups of people ascribe to social or humanitarian issues. Documentation study is a data collection technique that comes from someone's writing, drawing or work. Juvenile delinquency is an act or action that violates the norms, rules or laws in society that is committed at a young age or during the transition from childhood to adulthood. Factors causing Juvenile Delinquency are social pathological symptoms in adolescents caused by a form of social neglect which ultimately leads to deviant behavior. Teenage age is a very vulnerable age because the characteristics of adolescence are emotional instability due to many problems, because emotionality dominates over abilities so that adolescents are less able to accept other people's opinions. This statement is in accordance with the expression of Thomas Hobbes in his theory "Homo Homini Lupus" that humans are wolves for other humans. This proverb seems to adequately represent someone's brutality towards other people so that with this situation it seems as if humans want to pounce on their prey. If it is associated with juvenile delinquency, it occurs because of desires that cannot be controlled so that the person gets lost in desires that violate the rules of society.
