Abstract

Land disputes are a significant issue in Bumiaji Village, Batu City, East Java, due to the community's low legal literacy and limited involvement of local stakeholders. Lack of understanding of formal legal procedures, the importance of land certification, and disharmony between customary and national laws have made it difficult to resolve land conflicts. This research aims to improve community legal literacy by considering the local context and strengthening the involvement of local stakeholders in land dispute resolution. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which actively involved communities and local stakeholders in problem identification, program design, and evaluation. The results showed that a locally-based approach that integrates customary and national laws was successful in improving community understanding of their legal rights and obligations, as well as encouraging participation in formal dispute resolution. In addition, the involvement of village officials, traditional leaders, and the National Land Agency in the dispute resolution process was able to create a more inclusive and equitable solution. The research concludes that legal literacy and synergy between local actors are key to resolving land disputes effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by problems faced by millennial farmers of PCPM Dau in hydroponic lettuce cultivation, including the high incidence of tip burn, suboptimal monitoring of nutrient solution pH and EC, and weak product branding and digital marketing. This program aimed to strengthen partners’ capacity in managing hydroponic lettuce plant health through nutrient formula innovation based on calcium and magnesium balance, nutrient solution monitoring, product identity development, and digital marketing enhancement. The methods included community education, training, science and technology diffusion, mentoring, and evaluation. The activity was conducted in Mulyoagung Village, Dau District, Malang Regency, involving 10 millennial farmers of PCPM Dau who manage an NFT hydroponic system. The results showed that the application of the nutrient formula and pH and EC monitoring reduced tip burn incidence from 30–40% to less than 10%. Marketable yield increased from 10–20 kg per cycle to 20–30 kg per cycle. In addition, the partners developed a product brand identity and began utilizing social media as a digital marketing platform. This program demonstrates that integrating nutrient innovation, branding, and digital marketing can serve as an applicable mentoring model for developing more productive and competitive millennial hydroponic farming.ABSTRAKKegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang dihadapi petani milenial PCPM Dau dalam budidaya selada hidroponik, yaitu tingginya kejadian tip burn, belum optimalnya monitoring pH dan EC larutan nutrisi, serta belum kuatnya branding dan pemasaran digital produk.
