Abstract

Persoalan minoritas dan mayoritas dalam cerpen “Eksodus”, sedari awal, menonjolkan dominasi salah satu pihak terhadap pihak lain. Dominasi ini diceritakan pada hampir seluruh penceritaan hingga menampilkan bentuk ketidakadilan. Di sisi lain, penggunaan sudut pandang orang pertama dalam cerpen berusaha mencitrakan posisi orang-orang yang terdominasi, bahkan cenderung mengalami proses eksklusi, dengan segala macam pengalaman buruk sepanjang cerita. Proses dominasi serta eksklusi, yang hadir dalam cerpen antara minoritas dan mayoritas, ini mengarah pada isu xenofobia dan diskriminasi rasial. Kedua isu tersebut, dengan melihat peristiwa yang ditulis dalam cerpen, merupakan hasil dari menguatnya keberadaan nasionalisme tribal. Mendasarkan analisis dengan konsep nasionalisme tribal yang dijabarkan oleh Hannah Arendt, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa cerpen, sebagai kritik, memproyeksikan bentuk nasionalisme tribal yang mewujud pada xenofobia dan diskriminasi rasial. Kedua hal itu tercipta karena pelabelan yang menggeneralisasi tokoh para pendatang atas stigma, suku, asal, dan historisitasnya semata. Selain itu, dominasi tokoh penduduk setempat—mayoritas—atas minoritas juga mewujud dalam bentuk-bentuk kekerasan, sebagai manifestasi xenofobia dan rasialisme, yang terjadi: pengusiran, penolakan, pembunuhan, bahkan pemusnahan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji karya sastra perjalanan populer berjudul Passport to Happiness yang berisikan perjalanan perempuan pada 11 negara. Penelitian berusaha mengkaji subjektivitas pengarang dalam persepsinya terhadap objek dalam perjalananannya. Peneltian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis. Pendekatan yang menjadi dasar adalah pandangan Carl Thompson. Penelitian menemukan bahwa tindakan menilai objek yang dilakukan perempuan adalah bentuk pemberdayaan diri melawan kuasa patriarki. Subjektivitas dalam penilaian adalah bentuk suara penegasan diri perempuan

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the form of manifestation through aesthetic means in the lyrics in the album Ini Bukan Nostress by Nosstress. This qualitative descriptive study uses an objective method with listening and noting techniques. The data taken is in the form of three of the nine song lyrics in the album. The results of this study are the discovery of aesthetic concepts through the perception of meanings depicted by the lyrical "I". The results of this perception produce aesthetic values that can be reflected as an aesthetic experience. The existence of self-manifestation based on the interpretation of the law of attraction in the three songs in the album Ini Bukan Nostress is a means to evaluate oneself through the beauty depicted from the intrinsic elements. Elements such as diction, imagery, and the use of rhyme in the lyrics can emphasize hope, optimism, and determination.

Abstract

This study examines the language style and meaning in Bilal Indrajaya's songs “Saujana,” “Niscaya,” and “Dara,” focusing on how diction, metaphor, personification, and repetition shape lyrical meaning. Using a qualitative, descriptive narrative approach with structural and stylistic theories, the research reveals that simple yet symbolically rich language conveys themes of longing, loss, and hope. The lyrics' rhyme and stylistic elements enhance their musicality and emotional impact, allowing listeners to connect deeply with expressions of love, identity, and emotional pain. Overall, the analysis shows that language style in these lyrics functions both as an aesthetic and as a medium for conveying profound life experiences.Keywords: Language style, Meaning, Structure, Song lyric.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the structure and explain the issue of child exploitation as a consequence of poverty in the novel Kita Pergi Hari Ini (KPHI) using a literary sociology approach, along with the theories of fiction structure and child exploitation. Data were collected through literature study and note-taking techniques, and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The findings reveal that the main theme of the novel is the struggle of children to obtain a better life amidst poverty and exploitation. The main characters consist of five children and a recruiter named Nona Gigi, with a progressive plot driving the narrative. Poverty is portrayed through economic hardship and limited access to employment due to a system dominated by certain groups, leading parents to relinquish their responsibilities and hand over their children to exploitative parties. The forms of exploitation depicted in the novel include emotional, verbal, and physical abuse, with emotional abuse being the most dominant. The novel offers social criticism of a system that fails to protect children and emphasizes the importance of child protection and poverty alleviation to prevent further exploitation.Keywords: Kita Pergi Hari Ini, Child Exploitation, Poverty
