Abstract

In Indonesia, each province has its own traditional culture. Traditional arts are used to express the beauty of the human soul. In traditional artwork implicit message of the society of knowledge, ideas, beliefs and values norms. In addition to the function of rituals, traditional performing arts is also being used to honor and commemorate the influential figures in the local community, heroism, patriotism and nationalism. One example of a traditional art that has the functionality is Menak Koncer. Menak Koncer is a community-owned art Sumowono, Kabupaten Semarang, Jawa Tengah raised to preserve the culture and values in society. Through a qualitative descriptive approach with observation techniques and literature, it was found that at the next stage of development, especially in the modern society, arts performances Menak Koncer shift function just as mere entertainment. Menak Koncer existence as art and traditional culture in Indonesia progressively eroded by the expansion of global art and culture. Therefore, efforts must be made to preserve the arts and culture in the midst of changing times and foreign cultural influences have been increasing in Indonesia.

Abstract

“Tjerita Nji Paina” was written during the Dutch Colonial period in Indonesia in 1900. In the work of H. Kommer, “Tjerita Nji Paina” is appeared differently compared to the other writting on gender similar issues at the same era. The author’s strong simphaty and compassion to ”nyai” destiny has ameliorated the negative image of concubine life system in the Dutch Kolonial era. This literature work has clearly shown the braveness of a Dutch Indies woman in dealing with unfairness she faced in her inferior position. Her consiousness on the existent that she was under pressure of patriarchy superiority power has pushed her to struggle to be equal to men. The aim of this research is to unshield ideas fighting the patriarchy system in the community. Other, it pictured the women’s efforts to come out from the negative stereotipe that show them as weak and powerless. This research is conducted using feminist literary criticism approach in descriptive qualitative methods.

Abstract

The global community understand the different of gender based on biological and social indicators. The biological indicators, such as sex, the reproduction function, as a given and unchangeable factor. In the other side, the social difference leads to the different attitudes of men or women. This difference is in constructed by society. In the long run, the gender message has been mixed with the given factor, and the duty of child bearing is assumed to be the duty for women only

Abstract

Folklore has a position and a really important function for its proponent people. One of those folklores that exist in Pati, Central Java, is a folklore called Ondorante. In addition to completely describe the story, this research also intend to discover the transmission process and the funtions that appear in the Ondorante. Finally, through qualitative descriptive approach by interview, observation and bibliographical techniques, it appears that the folklore doesn’t only play its role as an entertainment, education, reflection or ritual, but also offers a consciousness to the people about the past, about who were their ancestors and the origin of how their native land formed.

Abstract

Novel APDP bercerita keseharian hidup tokoh Medasing yang kejam terungkap dalam novel Anak Perawan Disarang Penyamun karya Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengungkap kaitan antarunsur struktur dan eksistensi manusia. Tahap analisis dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data yang diperoleh, setelah itu dianalisis menggunakan teori struktural dan eksistensialisme Kierkegaard untuk mengetahui aspek-aspek sosial yang ada di dalamnya, yaitu aspek eksistensialisme tokoh Medasing. Penyajian hasil analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis. Metode ini digunakan untuk memaparkan hasil dari penelitian, struktur novel mulai dari alur pengaluran, tokoh penokohan, latar, tema dan amanat. Mendeskripsikan masalah eksistensi Kerkegaard yang terdiri dari eksistensi estetis, etis dan religius. Tokoh utama adalah Medasing, Penokohan menggunakan metode dramatik dan analitik. Alur pengaluran menggunakan alur lurus, peristiwa demi peristiwa diceritakan secara kronologis. Adapun latar novel APDP adalah di tengah-tengah hutan rimba, pada zaman dulu. Tema cerita novel APDP menggunakan tema implisit, dengan membaca secara tekun, barulah akan diketahui isi dan maksud dalam cerita novel APDP. Amanat yang terkandung pesan moral, bahwa kejahatan tidak harus dibalas dengan kejahatan. Eksistensi estetis tokoh Medasing berorientasi terbatas masalah materialistis saja, yaitu merampok. Eksistensi etis tokoh Medasing memperhatikan dunia batinnya, yaitu pernikahannya dengan Sayu. Eksistensi religius, tokoh Medasing sudah mulai menjalankan perintah agama, seperti sholat dan naik haji. Hasil penelitian novel Anak Perawan Disarang Penyamun karya Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana, tokoh Medasing memilih eksistensinya dengan menjadi perampok yang kejam hingga akhirnya bertobat dan kembali ke jalan yang benar. Kejahatannya luluh dengan kesabaran dan kasih sayang yang diberikan tokoh Sayu.

Abstract

Folklore serves to reveal about society, people's way of thinking.The folklore of Banyumanis Village Donorojo Jepara serves as entertainment for the supporting community. This story can provide a fun way to escape from the real world that is full of difficulties, thus turning something difficult into something more exciting. This study aims to determine the transmission process and the functions that appear in the folklore of Banyumanis Village. Through a qualitative descriptive approach with interview, observation and literature study techniques, it was found that folklore in addition to functioning as entertainment, education, reflection and ritual also provides awareness to the public about the past.

Abstract

Culture is a human product as a result of community activities. The culture can be in the form of traditional art which contains knowledge, beliefs, norm values and beauty values. Indonesia is famous as a country rich in culture. In every region there are diverse cultures. Cultural heritage of ancestors is also found in the highlands of Central Java, namely Tlogopucang Village, Kandangan District, Temanggung Regency. In the area there are several traditional arts in the form of Angklung Tapak Asta, Sadranan Kyai Kramat, Razor Shear, and the Ngedun-dunke Tradition. Through a combination of historical and descriptive qualitative approaches and in-depth interview techniques, observations and documentation have found that the impediment to the inheritance of traditional culture is due to the influence of global cultural expansion. For this reason, a strategy in the form of inventory and revitalization is needed so that traditional arts can survive and can strengthen the identity of the community

Abstract

Bagi organisasi karang taruna  surat merupakan hal penting yang tidak bisa diabaikan, karena  surat dapat mewakili institusi atau pengirimnya. Organisasi pemuda mempunyai potensi sebagai agen perubahan  dalam mengisi pembangunan. Oleh karena itu keberadaan organisasi pemuda perlu dikelola secara profesional agar dapat  memberikan kontribusi pada peningkatan  pembangunan daerah. Permasalahan yang sering muncul  dalam organisasi pemuda  adalah ketidak tahuan para  pengurus dan anggota   berhubungan dengan tata administrasi ,  terutama tentang bagaimana menulis dan menjawab surat  resmi dari dinas terkait . Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah  metode edukatif atau pengajaran . Sedangakan tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam   pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah  pengurus  dan anggota karang taruna desa Kemetul  dapat  terampil menulis dan menjawab surat resmi dengan menggunakan  Bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar. Hasil yang dicapai dalam pengabdian masyarakat  ini adalah  meningkatnya ketrampilan  pengurus dan anggota karang taruna desa Kemetul  dalam  menulis dan menjawab  surat resmi dari dinas terkait dengan  menggunakan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan sesuai dengan Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia. Kata kunci: Organisasi pemuda, kemampuan, menulis, surat resmi For youth organizations, letters are important things that cannot be ignored, because letters can represent the institution or sender. Youth organizations have the potential as agents of change in filling development. Therefore, the existence of youth organizations needs to be managed professionally in order to contribute to the improvement of regional development. The problem that often arises in youth organizations is the ignorance of the administrators and members related to the administration, especially about how to write and answer official letters from the relevant agencies. The method used in this community service is an educative or teaching method. While the goal to be achieved in this community service is that the management and members of the Kemetul village youth group can be skilled at writing and answering official letters using good and correct Indonesian. The results achieved in this community service are the increased skills of the management and members of the Kemetul village youth organization in writing and responding to official letters from the relevant agencies using good Indonesian and in accordance with Indonesian Spelling. Keywords: Youth organization, ability, writing, official letter

Abstract

“Rawagambut” karya Conie Sema merupakan naskah lakon yang menarik untuk diteliti karena menggambarkan persoalan lingkungan yang krusial dan masih relevan hingga sekarang, yaitu pembukaan lahan perkebunan yang menimbulkan masalah-masalah lingkungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan permasalahan ekologi dalam naskah lakon “Rawagambut” dan relevansinya dengan kebakaran hutan di Sumatera Selatan pada tahun 2015. “Rawagambut” akan dianalisis menggunakan teori ekokritik sastra. Ekokritik sastra mengkaji hubungan antara sastra dan lingkungan fisik. Secara lebih lanjut, teori yang digunakan adalah konsep ekokritik Greg Garrard. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa permasalahan ekologi dalam “Rawagambut” adalah  degradasi lahan gambut, pencemaran udara, instabilitas tempat tinggal, ancaman bagi satwa liar, dan pemanasan global. Semua permasalahan ekologi tersebut disebabkan oleh peristiwa kebakaran hutan dan lahan yang dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena ekspansi perkebunan di kawasan Pantai Timur Sumatera. Hasil analisis juga menunjukkan relevansi antara “Rawagambut” dengan peristiwa kebakaran hutan di Sumatera Selatan pada tahun 2015.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of inferiority and superiority of the Raja character in The First, Second, & Third Love films, which will be released in 2022. This study uses the theory of film narrative structure, literary psychology, and Alfred Adler's individual psychology. This research includes library research using descriptive qualitative methods by utilizing interpretation methods by presenting them in the form of descriptions. The data were obtained by watching and understanding the storyline of the First, Second, & Third Love films, taking several scenes of the Raja character with other characters, recording data related to the form of the inferiority and superiority of the Raja character, and grouping the data results with an adapted format. The technique of presenting the results of data analysis is presented in the form of a description. The results of this study indicate that: First, the form of the inferiority of the Raja character includes feelings of doubt, weakness, helplessness, worry, shame, and fear. Second, the form of the superiority of the Raja figure is finding happiness, a sense of responsibility arises, a feeling of sympathy arises, and a feeling of courage arises.
