Abstract

This study examines the language style and meaning in Bilal Indrajaya's songs “Saujana,” “Niscaya,” and “Dara,” focusing on how diction, metaphor, personification, and repetition shape lyrical meaning. Using a qualitative, descriptive narrative approach with structural and stylistic theories, the research reveals that simple yet symbolically rich language conveys themes of longing, loss, and hope. The lyrics' rhyme and stylistic elements enhance their musicality and emotional impact, allowing listeners to connect deeply with expressions of love, identity, and emotional pain. Overall, the analysis shows that language style in these lyrics functions both as an aesthetic and as a medium for conveying profound life experiences.Keywords: Language style, Meaning, Structure, Song lyric.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the structure and explain the issue of child exploitation as a consequence of poverty in the novel Kita Pergi Hari Ini (KPHI) using a literary sociology approach, along with the theories of fiction structure and child exploitation. Data were collected through literature study and note-taking techniques, and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The findings reveal that the main theme of the novel is the struggle of children to obtain a better life amidst poverty and exploitation. The main characters consist of five children and a recruiter named Nona Gigi, with a progressive plot driving the narrative. Poverty is portrayed through economic hardship and limited access to employment due to a system dominated by certain groups, leading parents to relinquish their responsibilities and hand over their children to exploitative parties. The forms of exploitation depicted in the novel include emotional, verbal, and physical abuse, with emotional abuse being the most dominant. The novel offers social criticism of a system that fails to protect children and emphasizes the importance of child protection and poverty alleviation to prevent further exploitation.Keywords: Kita Pergi Hari Ini, Child Exploitation, Poverty

Abstract

Bersama dengan corak budaya Bali yang tampil menonj ol, novel Sukreni Gadis Bali juga memiliki persoalan trauma yang tertulis di dalam kisah subjek-subjek di dalamnya. Persoalan trauma yang ada dalam novel Sukreni Gadis Bali karya A.A. Panji Tisna yang terbentuk dalam diri subjek terjadi disebabkan interaksi antarsubjek dalam cerita. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berupaya menjabarkan isu trauma yang ada dalam diri subjek cerita Sukreni Gadis Bali: muasal penyebab trauma dan representasi trauma dalam tubuh subjek sebagai dampak budaya patriarki. Dengan demikian, analisis penelitian didasarkan pada pandangan trauma Cathy Caruth dan konsep trauma patriarki yang dipaparkan Michelle Justus. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berada pada ruang perspektif psikomemori feminisme sastra. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa trauma yang dialami subjek, Men Negara dan Sukreni, disebabkan oleh kekerasan interpersonal yang dilakukan oleh laki-laki dengan landasan relasi kuasa yang timpang antarsubjek. Kekerasan interpersonal itu berbentuk intimidasi, pemerkosaan, kekerasan fisik, dan peristiwa katastrofe berupa kebakaran. Subjek yang trauma, Men Negara dan Sukreni, menampilkan sindrom pascatrauma setelah mengalami peristiwa traumatis. Sukreni mengalami krisis identitas dan Men Negara memperlihatkan kegilaan. Dua trauma yang dialami oleh Sukreni dan Men Negara merupakan hasil dari dominasi patriarki.
