Abstract

The utilization of social media in agricultural extension has emerged as a strategy deemed quite effective and efficient in disseminating information to farmers in the digital era. Social media offers easier, faster, and broader access to convey information related to agricultural technology, cultivation techniques, and the latest policies relevant to the agricultural sector. This community empowerment activity aims to encourage farmers to leverage social media to enhance their knowledge and skills. The activity employs lecture and training methods, carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results indicate that the community service activity, aimed at encouraging farmers to utilize social media to improve their knowledge and skills, has yielded positive outcomes for farmers. The development of farmers' awareness is a crucial initial step in motivating them to use social media as a productive tool. However, challenges such as limited internet access in some areas pose a major obstacle to maximizing social media utilization. Overall, social media holds the potential to be an efficient extension tool, but it also requires support from various parties, including the government, extension organizations, and the community, to maximize its effectiveness.

Abstract

The competitiveness of the local rice market affects the efficiency of the supply chain, thus highlighting the need for a robust supply chain system. Farmers, as the main marketing entity, are crucial in meeting domestic demand. This study aims to analyze the marketing margin, marketing channel, farmer share of rice. The sampling method was conducted in 10 sub-districts, namely Kota Bangun, Muara Kaman, Sebulu, Tenggarong Seberang, Muara Kaman, Marangkayu, Anggana, Samboja, Loa Janan, Loa Kulu, and Tengarong. The research method was carried out qualitatively by conducting an in-depth review so that 100 respondents were collected which were then analyzed using qualitative analysis and marketing analysis. The results show that rice marketing margins vary depending on the marketing channel used. The marketing margin of rice in Kutai Kartanegara Regency varies between IDR 5,300 to IDR 8,000 per kg, depending on the marketing channel and location. Farmer Share: Farmers receive about 53.84% of consumers' final price, while marketing agencies take the rest. Marketing Efficiency: The marketing channels used by paddy rice farmers in Kutai Kartanegara Regency are considered efficient because the marketing efficiency value is below 50%.

Abstract

The Seribu Rumah Gadang village is one of the potential tourist destinations to be developed. The aim is to ensure that the tourism sector in West Sumatra continues to progress and grow, thereby increasing the economic sector. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The data analysis technique used is SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). The study results indicate that the strategy for developing the village of a thousand "rumah gadang" should be formulated using SWOT analysis. By using SWOT analysis, the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats in development will be apparent, making it easier to formulate an ideal strategy for development planning. The right strategy in developing the village of a thousand "rumah gadang" as a tourist attraction is crucial. One effective approach is to utilize the strengths of the village to optimize tourism opportunities. By combining the natural beauty, cultural uniqueness, environmental sustainability, culinary tourism (rendang), cool environmental conditions, adequate accessibility, friendly community attitudes, security provided by authorities, and by implementing the right strategies, the village of a thousand "rumah gadang" has great potential to become a leading tourist destination attracting both domestic and international tourists.

Abstract

Terhitung tanggal 4 Januari 2021, pemerintah Kota Padang resmi mengeluarkan izin pelaksanaan Proses Belajar Mengajar (PBM) secara tatap muka bagi Sekolah Dasar dan Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Kebijakan ini tentunya perlu diiringi dengan pelaksanaan protokol kesehatan di lingkungan sekolah. Jika lalai, maka diprediksi sekolah akan menjadi kluster penyebaran virus Covid-19. Sehingga perlu dilaksanakan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dalam bentuk sosialisasi dan diseminasi informasi penerapan kebiasaan baru (new normal) di SDN 23 Ujung Gurun, Kota Padang, Sumatera Barat. Lokasi ini menjadi menarik karena berada di Kawasan perkantoran dimana tentunya mobilitas masyarakat tinggi, dan potensi penyebaran Virus Covid-19 tinggi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong penguatan pelaksanaan protokol kesehatan di lingkungan Sekolah Dasar. Abstract

Rendahnya minat menulis di kalangan Gen-Z, tidak bisa dipandang sebelah mata. Padahal semestinya generasi Gen-Z, khususnya mahasiswa/i ketika menempuh pendidikan, harus mengasah kemampuan menulisnya, agar nantinya mereka mampu menghasilkan tugas akhir yang berkualitas. Kegiatan pembekalan dan pelatihan penulisan esai ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mahasiswa/i secara sistematis dan logis. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode pelatihan. Kegiatan pembekalan dan pelatihan penulisan esai dilaksanakan selama dua hari, yaitu pada tanggal 30 Oktober sampai dengan 1 November 2023 di laboratorium IKPM Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Mulawarman. Peserta berjumlah 21 orang, dan dilaksanakan secara luring (luar jaringan) atau offline. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan memberikan pemahaman dari sejarah penulisan esai, alasan menulis esai, berbagai pemahaman tentang esai, esai akademis dan esai kreatif, dan tips menulis esai. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pembekalan dan pelatihan penulisan esai ini adalah secara keseluruhan kegiatan ini telah mampu memberikan hasil yang positif bagi para peserta. Peserta dinilai berhasil menulis esai yang logis dan sistematis, dan hal ini memberikan peluang bagi peserta untuk berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Di samping itu, kegiatan ini bukan hanya sekadar pembekalan dan pelatihan penulisan esai, tetapi juga langkah nyata menuju peningkatan kapasitas peserta, serta memperkuat semangat keberanian dalam mengemukakan gagasan atau ide melalui tulisan.

Abstract

The Seribu Rumah Gadang village holds immense potential as a tourist destination awaiting development. The primary objective is to foster the continuous progress and growth of the tourism sector in West Sumatra, consequently bolstering the economic landscape. This research adopts a descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach. SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) is employed as the data analysis technique. The findings highlight the necessity of formulating development strategies for the village of a thousand "rumah gadang" using SWOT analysis. This approach elucidates the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats inherent in development, facilitating the formulation of an optimal development strategy. Crafting the right strategy for developing the village of a thousand "rumah gadang" as a tourist attraction is paramount. Leveraging the village's strengths to optimize tourism opportunities is identified as an effective approach. By synergizing natural beauty, cultural uniqueness, environmental sustainability, culinary delights (rendang), favorable environmental conditions, accessible infrastructure, hospitable community attitudes, and security measures provided by authorities, the village of a thousand "rumah gadang" stands poised to emerge as a premier tourist destination, appealing to both domestic and international visitors.
