Abstract

AbstrakDi Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi tepatnya Kecamatan Kuantan Hilir Seberang (KHS), merupakan Kecamatan baru pemekaran dari Kecamatan Kuantan Hilir Baserah, sekarang berdiri sendiri yang bernama  Kecamatan Hilir Seberang di Kecamatan inilah masih banyak tersimpan berbagai bentuk budaya dan tradisi, salah satunya  “Bagito” itu ada. Bagito artinya menerima seseorang yang datang dari daerah lain untuk mengaku sebagai keluarga  sendiri  (mengambil dunsanak) baik diri sendiri mapun keluarga, maka di anggaplah sebagai saudara kandung. Dengan adanya Bagito maka bertambahlah sanak saudatanya semua yang ada dalam suku tempat ia bergabung “Bagito” Kata Kunci: Adat Bagito.AbstractIn the regency of Kuantan Singingi, there is a district name Kuantan Hilir Seberang. This district has separed from district of Kuantan Hilir Baserah and now it becomes new district. In this district, there is “Bagito” tradition which still exists and practices by people. “Bagito” mean receiving someone from different areas to be their own relatives.  The person is confessted to be sibling. By having “Bagito”, the number of family becomes wider. The method used in the research is descriptive by using qualitative approach. The technique used in the research is interview in reader to get real information about the data. The result of the research shown that “Bagito” tradition may strengthen (friendship) all members in a big family. This tradition also can show them where is their origin family and where is “Bagito”, but all of them unite in the family.Keywords: Bagito tradition, Kuantan Hilir Seberang, family

Abstract

“Bila pemimpin tak tahu diri, umat binasa rusaklah negeri”.Maksud dari ungkapan ini menunjukkan bahwa apa bila seorang pemimpin yang tidak lagi bisa memberikan teladan, baik ucapan, tingkah laku, kemudian tidak tahu lahu hak dan kewajibannya dan tidak menyadari bahwa amanah itu adalah suatu beban yang amat berat. Maka bangsa ini akan hancur bimasa.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to examine the religious values   and economic values   of the people on the game Skate “in the village of Multiplication, Kenegarian Kotorajo,.Kuantan Hilir Subdistrict, District Singingi. This study used a descriptive method, a method that is used describe skating in the village folk games Multiplication, Kenegerian Koto tengah Seberang Hilir District of Kuantan, Kuantan District Singingi. Correctly, so that the values   contained in the folk games of skating it can be seen clearly. There are several data collection techniques that I use to understand a descriptive study with interview techniques, observation. The results of this study are yamg religious values   contained in each game is started skating people skating games basmalah always reading and praying, besides instilling honesty, and mutual work sama. Nilai-economic values   contained in the folk games of skating, in the execution of the game can boost the economy of society with digalakkannya social economy. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode  deskriptif, yaitu metode yang digunakan menggambarkan permainan rakyat seluncur di Desa Pengalian, Kenegerian Koto Tengah Kecamatan Kuantan Hilir Seberang, Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Secara benar, sehingga nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam dalam permainan rakyat seluncur itu dapat diketahui dengan jelas. Ada beberapa teknik pengumpulan data yang penulis pakai untuk memahami sebuah penelitian yang bersifat deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara, observasi. Hasil Penelitian ini adalah nilai-nilai agama yang terdapat pada permainan rakyat  seluncur adalah setiap mengawali permainan seluncur selalu membaca basmalah dan berdoa,  selain itu menanamkan sikap jujur, dan saling bekerja sama. Nilai-nilai ekonomi yang terdapat pada permainan rakyat seluncur, dalam pelaksanaan permainan tersebut dapat meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat dengan digalakkannya ekonomi kerakyatan.Kata kunci: Nilai agama dan Nilai-nilai ekonomi

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas mengenai tradisi lisan Kayat Ruda masyarakat Rantau Kuantan Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Tujuan dari tulisan ini adalah untuk menjelaskan peran, fungsi dan nilai yang terkandung dalam Kayat Ruda. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bagaimana peran kesenian tradisi lisan Kayat Ruda menjadi representasi identitas kultural masyarakat Rantau Kuantan Kabupatan Singigi.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berjudul “Upacara Adat Perkawinan Masyarakat Kecamatan Rumbai Pekanbaru Provinsi Riau” Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui dan tata cara upacara adat perkawinan. Seting berlokasi di Kecamatan Rumbai Provinsi Riau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan deskriptif  dengan cara pendekatan wawancara dan di rekam kemudian di catat. Setiap suku dan etnik setiap suku dan bangsa memiliki adat dan tradisi yang berbeda-beda, hal ini terlihat ketika adat pernikahan khususnya di Kecamatan Rumbai Pekanbaru mulai dari persiapan pernikahan sampaike pelaminan.Kata kunci : tradisi nikah, masyarakat RumbaiAbstractThe litle of the resarch is traditional marriage for the society in the districk of rumbai-Pekanbaru. The aims of the research are to investigate, analyze and documenting the procedures of traditional marriage ceremony this area. The research is located in the districk of rumbai-pekanbaru. In analyzing this research, the writer applies a descriptive qualtative method in wich the result of the analyzis will be descrobed clearly. The data was taken by using interview, records and notes,the result shown that every tribe and ethnic has different customs and traditions. This can be seen at the time of the marriage process especially in the districk of Rumbai-Pekanbaru starting from marriage preparation until wedding ceremony.Keywords: traditional marriage cermony, customs and traditions

Abstract

This writing attempts to show that the ritual of drifting off the boat is one tradition to drive away the magical power which causes various diseases to human beaings and plants in the regency of Kuantan Sengingi, Riau. The ritual is led by a shaman who will read charm to drive away the evil spirits. However, in reading the charm, the shaman will combine the elements of charm with the verses of Al-Quran and prayers to the propehet Muhammad, s.a.w.

Abstract

In Malay society, a leader is an important aspect. For that reason, religion is used as guideline to determine good leader, in this case Islamic doctrine. The society awares that a leader has important role, that's why the motto "adat bersandi syara, dan syara' bersendikan kitabullah" is used which means the tradition would be based on religion and holy Qur'an.

Abstract

This writing deals with a ritual called "Perahu Begandung". It highlights the impacts of the tradition in the village in the opposite coast of Kuantan district Mudik Singingi, Kuantan Regency. Positively, this tradition (ritual) makes the people in Kuantan Mudik applies their Islamic doctrine. Socially, this ritual strengthens the spirit of "gotong royong" and economically it increases the local people's income, and the various and colorful ornaments in the boat show the people's artistic taste. Besides, it also affects the people negatively. The coming of the oustider with their inappropriate behavior affects the local people morally. Moreover, the people come, the more crimes occur.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the moral values in the Eid al-Fitr tradition in Kenegerian Kotorajo, Kuantan Hilir Seberang District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis used is by reducing the data obtained in the field and then presenting the data in the form of descriptions or describing and interpreting Eid traditional objects in Kenegerian Kotorajo, Kuantan Hilir Seberang District, Kuantan Hilir Regency. And verify the data according to the research results found. The results of this research show that the Eid tradition carries out various activities carried out in general by both men and women, small and large people, even from children to the elderly. This activity begins on the evening of takbiran, after the Isha prayer they go around the village on foot starting from the mosque or surau and ending back at the mosque. Then in the morning perform the Eid prayer/Eid prayer. Then they returned home, some stopped at neighboring houses. Next, get ready to go to the grave or cemetery. Then go to the godang house or tribal house. Then for the next three days there will be pencak silat games. From this series of traditional activities, there are moral values contained in the relationship between living creatures and the creator, the relationship with the environment, mutual friendship, greeting each other, etiquette, the Eid tradition is one way to maintain friendship carried out by the community by walking. together around the village and at the same time forgiving the people who had been waiting along the road. Next, the value of grave pilgrimage is: 1). The Value of Being Thankful to Allah, 2). The Value of Praying to Allah and 3). The Value of Charity. Religious values are solidarity values, moral values, artistic values and now these values are increasing with economic values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pragmatic elements present in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) textbooks used in senior high schools in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Specifically, it examines the coverage of speech acts, metapragmatic strategies, and contextual variables in two widely used textbooks: Buku Sarana Elektronik (BSE) and Pathway to English, for grades X, XI, and XII. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with document analysis techniques, drawing data from the textbooks and interviews with English teachers in Pekanbaru. The findings reveal that the coverage of speech acts in both textbooks is incomplete, with an overemphasis on directives such as commands, requests, and suggestions. These speech acts, often face-threatening, require higher pragmatic competence from learners, which the textbooks do not adequately support. Additionally, metapragmatic information provided in the textbooks is limited and focuses more on pragmalinguistics than sociopragmatic factors, leaving students underprepared for real-life communication where social norms and contextual variables such as power dynamics play a crucial role. The textbooks also lack diversity in contextual variables, with most dialogues featuring interactions between individuals of equal power and little social distance, reducing learners’ exposure to various social roles and communication contexts. The study concludes that both BSE and Pathway to English fail to provide sufficient pragmatic content and suggests that future textbook design should include a broader range of speech acts, metapragmatic strategies, and diverse social contexts to better develop learners' pragmatic competence. The findings have significant implications for improving the effectiveness of teaching materials in Indonesian EFL classrooms.
