Abstract

The study is aimed to find out whether there is significant difference in writing ability who are taught by using story circle and who are taught by using free writing. This research is an experimental research. The experimental research involves experimental (VIII.4) group and control group B(VIII.3) of 32 students of the eighth grade students of SMP N 1Pringsewu in academic year 2014/2015. Both classes were given pre-test. Then,  the students give the treatment after that both groups were given post-test. Then, for collecting data the researcher applied writing test and analyzed the data by using t-test. The research finding of the research shows that there is any significant difference to writing ability between the students who are taught using story circle and those who are taught using free writing of Junior High School students. After the treatment, the mean is 71.50, the standard deviation is 9.795, the df is 62, and the value of the significance was 0.045 smaller than 0.05. If the significance is smaller than 0.05, its means that hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that using story circle in teaching writing could improve the students to write. Story circle is a technique to motivate the students in learning English, especially in teaching writing.

Abstract

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education on student interest and technology integration in Indonesian secondary schools through a quantitative analysis. A sample of 250 students was surveyed, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results reveal significant relationships between STEAM education, student interest, and technology integration. The measurement model demonstrates robust reliability and validity, while discriminant validity is supported. The structural model indicates that STEAM education positively influences both student interest and technology integration, with student interest mediating the relationship between STEAM education and technology. The study provides practical implications for educational practices, emphasizing the importance of transdisciplinary collaboration and effective teaching strategies to enhance student interest and foster technology integration in secondary education.

Abstract

Inclusive education is increasingly recognized as a vital approach to ensuring equal access to quality education for all students, including those with special needs. However, many schools remain unprepared to implement inclusive practices effectively due to limited resources, lack of training, and insufficient systemic support. This research aims to explore strategies that can increase school readiness in accepting students with special needs through inclusive education. Using a qualitative research design, the study was conducted in three inclusive elementary schools in Indonesia over a three-month period. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, involving teachers, principals, special education coordinators, and parents. The findings reveal that teacher professional development, inclusive school leadership, adaptive learning environments, and strong parent-community engagement are key strategies that enhance readiness. Furthermore, the study highlights a positive shift in teacher attitudes through experience and reflection, promoting a more inclusive school culture. The conclusion emphasizes that readiness is not only a structural issue but also a cultural and attitudinal transformation process. This research contributes to the development of practical models for inclusive education in resource-constrained settings and provides valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and advocates aiming to foster more equitable and supportive learning environments.
