Abstract

The lack of teacher creativity to design teaching and learning activities by applying various teaching methods suitable for the characteristics of the students' subject matter, situation, or condition is one of the problems in learning. This community service aims to support educators in Noemuti District, North Central Timor Regency, in carrying out activities to compile learning tools based on field trip learning methods, carry out learning in the classroom, and write scientific articles. The plans for this activity are training and mentoring strategies. Exercise is related to planning, action, observation and evaluation, and reflection, while mentoring is carried out outside this training activity according to the needs of learners in the field. Participants in this training came from teachers in the Noemuti sub-district, including elementary, junior high, and high school teachers. The material provided in this activity is related to the field trip learning method, the preparation of learning tools based on the steps of the field trip learning method, simulation of teaching and learning activities both in the room and out of the classroom. The results achieved in this service activity where teachers with different educational backgrounds can be guided in preparing learning tools based on field trip learning methods, and implementing them in class, making scientific articles to be published. In addition, although quantitatively, this activity still does not provide maximum results, qualitatively, these teachers are helped by the learning practices carried out by the service team. They can then be used as an alternative teaching model that can be implemented in their schools.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed educational institutions, presenting opportunities to enhance campus energy management and security. This research investigates the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve energy efficiency and security systems in a university campus setting. The study employed a qualitative research method using a case study approach, which included interviews, observations, and document analysis conducted over six months. Data analysis followed a thematic approach to identify patterns in energy consumption, security threats, and system performance. The results demonstrated that integrating IoT and AI reduced energy consumption by 20% through automated controls and predictive analytics, while security incidents decreased by 30% with improved response times by 40%. The study confirms previous theoretical energy conservation and security enhancement models while highlighting practical challenges such as sensor connectivity issues and staff training. This research contributes to the field by demonstrating the synergistic potential of combining IoT and AI for holistic campus management. Future research should explore integrating renewable energy sources with IoT technologies to enhance environmental sustainability while maintaining campus security. The findings offer valuable insights for educational institutions adopting smart campus technologies for improved operational efficiency and safety.

Abstract

This study explores the evolving role of teachers as digital facilitators, focusing on the shift from traditional content delivery to learning design in digitally mediated classrooms. With the rapid integration of technology in education, many teachers still struggle to adapt their practices, which raises the question of how they can effectively transition to roles that require instructional design thinking and technological fluency. The research employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis to investigate the experiences of 12 secondary school teachers in West Java, Indonesia. The findings reveal that teachers are increasingly adopting roles as learning designers, curating digital tools and resources to foster student-centered, collaborative, and inquiry-based learning. However, challenges such as rigid curriculum standards, lack of institutional support, and limited professional development hinder the full realization of this shift. The study concludes that becoming an effective digital facilitator requires not only technical skills but also pedagogical flexibility, reflection, and systemic support.

Abstract

Abstract

Micro enterprises play a vital role in Indonesia’s economic ecosystem, yet many continue to face serious challenges in managing their financial records due to low digital literacy and the absence of structured bookkeeping systems. This community service program, titled Smart Financial Mapping: Community Mentoring for Digital Bookkeeping in Micro Enterprises, aimed to empower micro business actors in Kelurahan Margodadi, Metro Selatan, through participatory mentoring focused on digital financial management. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program was conducted over three months and involved training, mentoring, and monitoring activities using the BukuWarung mobile application. Data collection techniques included surveys, interviews, observations, and focus group discussions, while analysis combined quantitative statistical testing and thematic qualitative analysis. The results showed a significant improvement in financial literacy and digital bookkeeping practices, with increased confidence and behavioral change among participants. Despite some limitations related to digital access and literacy gaps, the mentoring approach proved effective in fostering long-term financial awareness. This program contributes to the development of inclusive digital transformation strategies for micro enterprises and highlights the value of sustained, community-based mentoring in achieving financial resilience.
