Abstract

Visual signs as a symbol and philosophical value of femininity in wayang golek purwa at this time is less understood by some Pasundan people in Kuningan regency of West Java due to the strong influence of modernization. The problems in this research is how the visual form and femininity values ​​in wayang golek purwa typical of West Java Kuningan.This study aimed at explaining the visual form and the femininity values of wayang golek Purwa typical of West Java. This research utilized a descriptive method with socio-cultural approach based on post-positivism philosophy in the semiotics theory of Roland Barthes and Ferdinand De Saussure. The findings of this research is that the visual form of female characters in wayang golek purwa typical of West Java Kuningan is a denotative sign embodiment that retains the existing visual patterns of the puppet way puppet purwa. Meanwhile, the connotative values signifies that the existing wayang golek purwa typical of Kuningan West Java gives an illustration of the noble values ​​contained in the female characters of the puppet, that is the value of wisdom, holiness, manners, and feminism.

Abstract

Consumers who care about health and the environment are increasingly liking food products such as organic rice. Product image that can be influenced by label and packaging design is one of the factors that can affect consumers. The purpose of this study is to find out the most effective label and packaging design elements to attract consumers' attention to organic rice in Cikurubuk Village, to find out the influence of label and packaging design on the image of organic rice products from Cikurubuk Village in the eyes of consumers, and to find out that the design of organic rice labels and packaging can increase buying interest and product competitiveness in the local and regional markets. The results show that label and packaging designs that emphasize natural quality, health, and sustainability can improve the image of the product and encourage consumers to buy the product. It is hoped that this research will help organic rice producers develop better marketing strategies through label and packaging design.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi dan mengembangkan motif Batik Tamarin yang terinspirasi dari filosofi tokoh wayang golek Dewi Drupadi sebagai upaya pelestarian budaya lokal sekaligus peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat Desa Cikurubuk, Kecamatan Buahdua, Kabupaten Sumedang. Metode yang digunakan adalah partisipatif dengan tahapan observasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan membatik, penerapan teknologi tepat guna, pendampingan produksi, hingga evaluasi. Masyarakat yang terlibat dalam kegiatan terlihat sangat antusias, meskipun sebelumnya belum mengenal tradisi membatik. Beberapa motif telah berhasil dirancang, di antaranya Drupadi Berjuang, Gunungan Sunda, Alam Cikurubuk, dan Golek Karuhun. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa integrasi nilai-nilai filosofis tokoh wayang golek dengan keterampilan membatik dapat menjadi strategi pemberdayaan desa berbasis ekonomi kreatif dan pelestarian budaya.
