Abstract

Daun kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) mengandung flavonoid yang berpotensi untuk mengurangi rasa nyeri dengan menghambat kerja enzim siklooksigenase. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas analgetik ekstrak daun kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) pada mencit jantan putih (Mus musculus) yang diinduksi asam asetat. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode rangsangan kimia (geliat). Lima belas ekor mencit dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kelompok I diberi Na. CMC sebagai kontrol negatif, kelompok II diberi ibuprofen 400 mg sebagai kontrol positif, kelompok III, IV, dan V diberi perlakuan ekstrak etanol daun kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) dengan dosis 50 mg/kgBB, 100 mg/kgBB, dan 200 mg/kgBB. Masing-masing kelompok diberi perlakuan secara peroral 30 menit kemudian mencit diinduksi asam asetat 1 % secara intraperitonial. Selanjutnya diamati dan dihitung jumlah geliat setiap 5 menit selama 1 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  ekstrak etanol daun kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) pada dosis 200 mg/kgBB dengan persentase 78,27 % memiliki efek analgetik.Kata kunci : Aktivitas analgetik, Daun kembang sepatu, Geliat

Abstract

Rodent tuber (Typhonium flagelliforme (L.) Blume) is a medicinal plant used by the community as a drug. This plant is nutritious because one of chemical contents is triterpenoid which is having a role as the free radical scavenger that can lead to degenerative diseases. The aim of the research is to determine the extract antioxidant activities of rodent tuber (Typhonium flagelliforme (L.) Blume) based on the binding of free radicals of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl. Extract of rodent tuber (Typhonium flagelliforme (L.) Blume) was obtained by maceration method, the sample was macerated by using ethanol of 96%. This research used DPPH method. The antioxidant activity against free radical were measured by mean of UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 516 nm and calculated the value of IC50. The results showed that each rodent tuber extract (Typhonium flagelliforme (L.) Blume) has IC50 for the ethanol extract was 74.359 µ/mL and the comparison of quercetin with the value IC50 was 10.298 µg/mL respectively

Abstract

Tanaman kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman yang banyak tumbuh di negara tropis. Di Nusa Tenggara Timur terdapat dua jenis kelor yaitu kelor tangkai hijau dan kelor tangkai merah. Daun kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, tanin, saponin, alkaloid, dan terpenoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti aktivitas antibakteri fraksi polar dan non polar daun kelor tangkai merah (Moringa oleifera L.) terhadap Propionibacterium acnes. Metode penelitian ini  merupakan penelitian eksperimen laboratorium untuk mengetahui apakah fraksi polar dan non polar daun kelor tangkai merah (Moringa oleifera L.) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acnes dengan menggunakan metode cakram kertas dengan varian konsentrasi 2%, 4%, dan 6%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa fraksi polar dan non polar daun kelor tangkai merah memiliki aktivitas antibakteri, dimana fraksi polar dan non polar daun kelor tangkai merah (Moringa oleifera L.) menunjukKan masing – masing  zona hambat fraksi polar 2% 20,2 mm (sangat kuat), 4% 21,53 mm (sangat kuat), 6% 22,15 mm (sangat kuat) dan fraksi non polar 2% 18,05 mm (kuat), 4% 19,31 mm (kuat), 6% 21,08 mm (sangat kuat). Pada penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa fraksi polar (air) memiliki zona hambat sangat kuat terhadap Propionibacterium acnes dengan konsentrasi 6% (22,15 mm).

Abstract

Pomelofruit (Citrus maxima) has several chemical compounds, one of which is essential oil, 6.68g of essential oil was found in the peel of the pomelofruit (Citrus maxima) which has an active compound, namely limonene (94.96%). The essential oil provided strong antibacterial activity against S. aureus isolates. The purpose of the study was to formulate the essential oil of pomelofruit peel (Citrus maxima) into liquid soap preparations that met physical stability and to test the antibacterial activity of liquid soap preparations of pomelofruit (Citrus maxima) peel essential oil against S. aureus bacteria. The method used in testing the stability of liquid soap preparations is cycling test and in the antibacterial activity test using the Disk diffusion method. The results obtained that the essential oil of pomelofruit peel (Citrus maxima) can be formulated in the form of liquid soap because it meets the physical stability test, namely before and after the cycling test and activity tests. antibacterial against S. aureus. at 1% concentration of 18.9mm (strong), 3% of 20.4mm (very strong), and 5% of 21.1mm (very strong). Based on this, the essential oil of pomelofruit peel (Citrus maxima) can be made into liquid soap preparations that meet the physical stability test and have antibacterial activity in very strong category at a concentration of 5% in inhibiting the growth of S. aureus bacteria.
