Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah penelitian Quasi Eksperimental Design yang bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan Spinning Wheel sebagai media pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas XI MA DDI Cambalagi Kabupaten Maros. Variabel yang menjadi fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan media pembelajaran Spinning Wheel sebagai variabel bebas, sementara penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab merupakan variabel terikat. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 64 siswa kelas XI MA DDI Cambalagi Kabupaten Maros, dan sampel yang diambil terdiri dari 40 siswa kelas XI MA DDI Cambalagi Kabupaten Maros. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode acak (random sampling), di mana 20 siswa dari kelas XI IPA 2 menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan 20 siswa dari kelas XI IPA 3 menjadi kelompok kontrol. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui pemberian pre-test dan post-test tertulis pada materi "Kesehatan". Hasil analisis menggunakan uji-t dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa nilai 3,392 >  2,03. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran Spinning Wheel efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas XI MA DDI Cambalagi Kabupaten Maros.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the intrinsic elements in the form of characters, setting, plot, point of view, theme, and moral value in the novel "Emil und die Detective" by Erich Kästner.  The research data is in the form of primary data and secondary data.  Primary data is direct data from the text of the novel “Emil und die Detective”.  Secondary data is supporting data that contains additional information in the form of journals, articles and books.  Data were analyzed based on a qualitative approach with content analysis.  The results of the research are as follows, setting of place: Berlin, setting of time: summer vacation, social environment: culture, plot: progressive plot, theme: adventure, point of view: third person omniscient, moral value: doesn’t easily trust strangers strangers.  Character education values: religious values, integrity values, independent values, and mutual cooperation values.Keyword: intrinsic element, content analysis, Emil und die Detektive, Erich Kästner

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of project assignments in learning and to elaborate the results of project assignments as well as the improvement of students' reading and writing literacy skills through Project-based learning (PjBL), particularly in Psycholinguistics learning. The population of this study is students of the Department of Foreign Language Education, Faculty of Language and Literature, and the research sample is the 2023 cohort B class students of the Arabic Language Education program selected randomly. This type of research is quasi-experiment, and the data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics. The research results show that PjBL-based is proven to be able to improve students' reading and writing literacy. Quantitatively, descriptively, the improvement is indicated by the students' ability to sift, understand, and relate various theoretical literature sources (reading literacy) into cohesive and argumentative project reports (writing literacy). These results are reinforced by the achievement of very satisfactory final scores, where 77.27% (17 out of 22) of students managed to obtain scores in the range of 81-100 (categories Very Satisfactory and Excellent). This predominantly high score achievement serves as a strong indicator that the learning objectives of Psycholinguistics, which require mastery of academic literacy, have been fully achieved. Therefore, it can be concluded that PjBL is a relevant and successful learning model in integrating course content with the development of literacy competencies for students of the Foreign Language Education Department.

Abstract

This study examines the linguistic landscape phenomenon in writings found on truck beds in Indonesia as a form of linguistic practice in mobile public spaces. Writings on truck beds are understood as vernacular discourse that represents life experiences, social identity, religious values, social criticism, and the ideology of marginalised communities, particularly truck driver communities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with visual observation and semiotic analysis of the sentences written on truck beds. The data are analysed through theme classification, discourse function, and symbolic meaning within the framework of linguistic landscape and sociolinguistic theory. The results show that truck bed writing functions not only as a medium of personal expression, but also as a means of social communication, moral control, and symbolic criticism that moves across geographical and social spaces. This research contributes theoretically by expanding the study of linguistic landscape to the realm of non-institutional and mobile public spaces, and empirically by providing systematic documentation of the vernacular language practices of the working class. Practically, the findings of this study are relevant to the development of context-based critical literacy, the study of popular culture, and the formulation of language policies that are more inclusive of the language practices of marginalised communities. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena mobile linguistic landscape pada tulisan bak mobil truk di Indonesia sebagai bentuk praktik kebahasaan vernakular di ruang publik bergerak. Berbeda dengan kajian linguistic landscape konvensional yang memusatkan perhatian pada ruang statis, penelitian ini memosisikan bak truk sebagai medium linguistik yang melintasi batas geografis dan sosial secara dinamis. Melalui analisis terhadap tiga belas data tulisan bak truk, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi empat tema dominan, yaitu wacana religius dan spiritualitas jalanan, refleksi emosional dan pengalaman hidup, humor dan kritik sosial, serta wacana relasional dan gender. Analisis linguistik difokuskan pada fitur leksikal, strategi retoris (metafora konseptual, aforisme, paralelisme, paradoks), fungsi pragmatik, dan makna ideologis. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa tulisan bak truk merupakan bottom-up sign yang berfungsi sebagai counter-discourse terhadap wacana dominan serta merepresentasikan suara autentik masyarakat kelas pekerja. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada perluasan konseptual kajian linguistic landscape menuju ruang publik bergerak (mobile public space) dan memperkuat relevansi kajian wacana vernakular dalam sosiolinguistik Indonesia.
