<![CDATA[This study aims at describing the violations of the politeness principles committed by the South Celebes governor candidates in 2013 and their factors. This is qualitative research with a pragmatic approach. The data are a written record of the utterances of the South Celebes governor candidates, which violates the maxim of politeness principles. The data were taken from the largest print media in South Celebes, namely the Daily Dawn and East Tribune during the last 4 months including April, May,  June,  and July before the governatorial election. The result shows that the violation mostly happens to the maxim of simplicity. The modesty may arise when the opponents violating the maxim. It is to respond or denigrate the other political opponents who are trying to improve their image by praising themselves. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelanggaran kesopanan berbahasa yang dilakukan oleh calon gubernur Sulawesi Selatan dalam komunikasi politik menjelang pemilihan gubernur 2013 serta faktor- faktornya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan pragmatik. Data penelitian ini ialah data tertulis tuturan para calon gubernur Sulawesi Selatan yang tidak sesuai dengan prinsip kesopanan berbahasa. Sumber data adalah media cetak terbesar di Sulawesi Selatan, yakni Harian Fajar dan Tribun Timur yang terbit selama 4 bulan terakhir, yaitu: April, Mei, Juni dan Juli sebelum pemilihan gubernur. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa 1) sebagian besar pelanggaran terjadi  pada  maksim kesederhanaan dan 2) pelanggaran terjadi karena kandidat lainnya juga melanggar. Tuturan itu berfungsi untuk menanggapi ataupun berusaha menjatuhkan lawan politiknya yang mencoba meningkatkan citranya dengan memuji dirinya sendiri.]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui efektifitas dari modul pelatihan komunikasi positif bagi guru sekolah dasar berbasis teori kesopanan berbahasa yang telah dikembangkan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yakni eksperimen, dalam hal ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini ialah 30 guru sekolah dasar yang diberikan pelatihan komunikasi positif selama 3 kali pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket dengan menggunakan skala likert serta wawancara dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yakni statistik deskripif dan statistik inferensial dalam hal ini adalah paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan mengenai pemahaman guru mengenai komunikasi positif dalam proses pembelajaran. Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa modul pelatihan yang dikembangkan effektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman guru mengenai teknik komunikasi positif dalam proses pembelajaran.]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pelatihan pengembangan model pembelajaran berbasis analisis kebutuhan siswa bagi guru sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yakni eksperimen, dalam hal ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini ialah 30 guru sekolah dasar yang bersedia untuk mengikuti pelatihan yang diberukan. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket dengan menggunakan skala likert serta wawancara dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yakni statistik deskripif dan statistik inferensial dalam hal ini adalah paired sample t-test. Hasil analisis data pre-test dan post-test dengan menggunakan teknik paired sample t-test menunjukkan bahwa nilai signfikansi sebesar (0.oo) lebih kecil dari (0.05). Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan mengenai kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan model-model pembelajaran.]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah sturukturen und wortschatz II ditinjau dari aspek persepsi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yakni deskriptif kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pemahaman mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah sturukturen und wortschatz II. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri atas angket dan wawancara. Angket yang dikembangkan menggunakan skala semantic differential mulai interval 1 (tidak paham) sampai 6 (sangat paham) yang terdiri atas 10 item dimana setiap item mewakili satu materi dari topik sturukturen und wortschatz II. Jumlah partisipan yakni sebanyak 50 mahasiswa yang merupakan mahasiswa bahasa Jerman semester 4 yang telah memprogramkan mata kuliah sturukturen und wortschatz II yang berasal dari 3 universitas yang berbeda yakni Universitas Negeri Makassar, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, dan Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Teknik analisis data yakni statistik deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa materi mengenai penggunaan preposisi yang menguasai akkusativ dan dativ, materi konjugasi kata sifat, serta materi tingkat perbandingan kata sifat menjadi kesulitan bagi mahasiswa dibandingkan dengan materi-materi lainnya. Selain itu terdapat beberapa materi yang mudah dipahami oleh mahasiswa seperti penggunaan possessivpronomen, modal verben, dan penggunaan nebensatz.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract. This study used a survey approach which aims to examine how the intensity of the use of local language in high school students.  Participants were high school students who were selected purposively by considering gender (50% boys and 50% girls) and the area of residence (50% suburban area and 50% rural area).  The research instrument used was in the form of 3 survey questions consisting of 1) how often to use local languages in schools, 2) how often to use local languages in the community, and 3) how often to use local languages in the family. The data collection process is carried out online using the google form platform.  The verified data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods and inferential statistics using the SPSS 26 application. Finding show that 1) students in urban areas use local languages less than students in rural area, 2) students use more local languages in the home environment than in the school environment and social environment, 3) there is no significant difference in the use of local languages between male students and female students. It can  be concluded that gender is not a factor affecting language attitudes for the context of using local languages.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract. Strukturen Und Wortschatz Material (German grammar) is one of the difficult materials for students to understand. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve the quality of learning in these courses so that students can easily understand the material in these courses. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of the textbook based on metacognitive abilities that had been developed. This study uses a Research and Development approach. Research respondents consisted of expert validators (German lecturers and teachers) and students as user validators. Based on the results of the validity test, the book developed is valid. In addition, based on the public test of the response of students of the German education study program, textbooks have a very positive meaning for students. <![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using youtube media based on various approaches in improving the learning motivation of English learners. This research is a classroom action research. Data collection techniques used in this study consisted of observations and questionnaires. The subjects in this study were 35 people. This research was carried out in two cycles, each meeting held two meetings. In the initial test, the average learning motivation was 33.74, in the first cycle was 41.25 and in the second cycle was 48.28. Therefore, if we compare it from the initial test to the second cycle test. There is an increase of 14.54. This shows that the use of youtube media has an effect on increasing students' motivation to learn English.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to investigate the verb conjugation process of German, Bahasa, and English. This study used a contrastive analysis which is one of approaches in applied linguistics. Data consisted of words and sentences in German, Bahasa, and English, and were analyzed descriptively. This article is a preliminary study which aims to do need analysis in developing German grammar book based contrastive analysis approach. Finding shows that there are 4 factors causing verb of a sentence should be conjugated: 1) Verb Conjugation Adjusted with Person as Subject, 2) Verb Conjugation Adjusted with active-passive voice sentence, 3) Verb Conjugation Adjusted with tenses of sentence, 4) Verb Conjugation Adjusted with quantifier factor of sentence subject.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of PBL (Project Based Learning) learning models in Deutsch für Tourismus courses in foreign language majors. This research is an experimental study using one group design as an experimental group without involving the control group. Respondents in this study were 30 students who were programming the Deutsch fuer Tourismus course. Student speaking skills data were measured using assessment rubrics with intervals of 1 to 9. This assessment rubric was adapted from assessments in the IELTS test specifically in aspects of speaking skills. The intervention given was in the form of implementing the PBL model for 6 meetings, where each meeting was 2 hours long. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. There are 4 types of advantages of the PBL model that are felt by students when implemented in the learning process namely 1) can trigger students to find and explore ideas or ideas that they want to express when speaking. 2) train students to work in groups to solve a problem. 3) This model produces products that are self-developed by students. 4) The PBL model requires students to read a lot, so that it can have a positive effect in increasing student reading interest. <![CDATA[This article describes how geographic factor influences students’ language skill which in this case is the mastery of vocabularies. This study is a quantitative research with sociolinguistic approach. The respondents of this study were elementary school students that live in Lae-Lae Island, Makassar City, and as for the comparison the researcher took other respondents from other elementary schools in urban areas. The researcher selected 30 students from each school. The techniques used in this study were a vocabulary mastery test, observations, and interviews. The data analysis technique is descriptive analysis and independent sample t test. The result indicates that there are significant geographical factors on the students’ vocabulary mastery. Elementary students in urban area have higher skill in mastering vocabularies than those in Lae-Lae Island. In addition, the geographical factors also influence the type of their vocabularies mastered by the students. The students from Lae-Lae Island are better in mastering marine vocabularies than those of urban areas.]]>
