Abstract

K.H. Salahuddin Wahid is a national figure with a background in Architecture education, he is called a technocrat because of his role in physical development at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Jombang. This study discusses the figure of K.H. Salahuddin Wahid. three focuses Democratic Leadership Profile of K.H. Salahuddin Wahid in Improving Modern Islamic Education at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Jombang. Democratic Leadership of K.H. Salahuddin Wahid in Improving Modern Islamic Education at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Jombang. The Role of Democratic Leadership K.H. Salahuddin Wahid dedicates the development of modern Islamic education at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with historical methods, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of this study indicate that, the profile of KH. Salahudin Wahid shows good democratic leadership Jcharacteristics, including moderate influence, inspiring motivation, intellectual, and collective consideration. His leadership strategy integrates Islamic and general education. Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School has undergone changes in the era of the caretaker K.H. Salahuddin Wahid., Through his role, Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School has undergone changes in physical and non-physical aspects. and the construction of new buildings to support facilities. In the non-physical field, K.H. Salahuddin Wahid established many units to support the process of organizing Islamic boarding schools. The impact is significant, improving the quality of education, modernizing physical facilities, strengthening the role of Islamic boarding schools in society, and expanding alumni networks. This study contributes to understanding how the principles of transformational leadership can be applied effectively in traditional Islamic educational institutions facing modern challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pola kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di sekolah-sekolah berbasis agama Islam, bagaimana kepala sekolah mengelola waktu dalam menjalankan perannya, dan upaya mereka untuk membongkar stereotip. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan karyawan di sekolah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pola kepemimpinan yang diterapkan oleh Kepala Sekolah MTs Al Hidayah Karangsuci Purwokerto adalah:1) pola kepemimpinan transformasional, karisma yang ditunjukkan melalui berbagai pendekatan yang merangkul semua pihak dengan tujuan menciptakan situasi kerja yang lebih baik; 2) pola kepemimpinan instruksional dan partisipatif, ditandai dengan upaya kepala sekolah untuk lebih banyak berinteraksi dengan guru, siswa, orang tua, kolega, masyarakat, lebih dari laki-laki, dan dukungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji kepemimpinan Kyai di Pesantren Tebuaireng, dengan fokus pada transisi dari pendidikan tradisionl ke pendidikan modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kyai menerapkan gaya kepemimpinan visioner, demokratis, dan spiritual yang menciptakan lingkungan inklusif yang mendorong kolaborasi dan inovasi. Kepemimpinan demokratis memungkinkan partisipasi aktif dalam pengambilan keputusan, sementara kepemimpinan karismatik memperkuat ikatan emosional antara Kyai dan staf, menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang harmonis. Selain itu, integrasi kepemimpinan spiritual membantu menjaga keseimbangan antara nilai-nilai agama tradisional dan kebutuhan pendidikan modern.Upaya modernisasi meliputi adopsi teknologi, pendidikan multibahasa, dan penggabungan perspektif Islam dalam sains, yang membekali santri dengan keterampilan penting untuk menghadapi tantangan global. Manajemen konflik juga dilakukan melalui musyawarah, yang menjamin keselarasan di tengah perubahan. Sebagai kesimpulan, inovasi kepemimpinan di Pesantren Modern Tebuireng berhasil menjembatani tradisi dan modernitas, menawarkan model bagi pesantren lain dalam menghadapi persaingan di dunia Pendidikan yang serba cepat
