Abstract

Recently there have been many criminal cases where the victims were not only adults but had reached teenagers, children, and even toddlers. One of the crimes that is being hotly discussed in our society today is crimes against decency such as rape and obscenity (sodomy) of minors. This research is analytical descriptive research. The approach used in this study is a normative juridical approach supported by an empirical juridical approach. The data used in this research are secondary data and primary data. All data and materials obtained from the results of the research were compiled and analyzed qualitatively, and presented in a qualitative descriptive form.

Abstract

Bullying is a harmful behavior that has the potential to cause serious psychological impacts on children, especially in school settings. This study aims to explore the role of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) Student Community Service (KKN) students in educating elementary school students about the dangers of bullying. Socialization activities were conducted in three elementary schools, namely SD 12 Sapan, SD 13 Sungai Durian, and SD 02 Sapan, Durian 2 Village, Barangin District, Sawah Lunto City, using presentation and interactive discussion methods. The results showed that 55% of students considered bullying as a joke, with the most common form of bullying being teasing about parents' names and physical conditions. These findings indicate the need for continuous education to increase students' understanding of the boundaries between joking and bullying and its negative impacts. Through this program, UNP KKN students contribute to creating a safer and more supportive environment for elementary school students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the computational thinking skills of fourth-grade elementary students within the framework of mathematics instruction. Computational thinking is a crucial 21st-century competency that should be cultivated from an early age, particularly in solving mathematical problems. This study adopts a descriptive quantitative method using a written test instrument developed based on four key computational thinking components: decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic processes. The participants in this research were fourth-grade students from a selected elementary school. The results indicate that most students demonstrate a moderate level of computational thinking. Among the assessed indicators, decomposition was the most successfully achieved, while algorithmic thinking was the least mastered. These results highlight the importance of integrating contextual and problem-based learning strategies to further enhance students’ computational thinking abilities in mathematics education.
