Abstract

Although there have been several studies investigated the effect of COVID-19 outbreak on mental health, studies that specifically analyze the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on bank employees have not been investigated, especially during the new normal era. Therefore, this study aims to assess the mental health of bank employees and its correlation with dimensions of work motivation. This online cross-sectional study measured 403 participants using the DASS-21 and the MWMS scale. Participants who experienced depression, anxiety, and stress at the moderate to extremely severe level were 32.51%, 63.77%, and 7.94%. Furthermore, there are no differences in depression, anxiety, and stress on all demographic variables, except for the job position characteristics, which are significantly different on the anxiety scale. The correlation analysis results show that depression is negatively correlated with introjected regulation, identified regulation, and intrinsic motivation, whereas depression is positively correlated with the amotivation dimension; anxiety has a negative correlation with extrinsic regulation-material, introjected regulation, identified regulation, and intrinsic motivation; then stress is negatively correlated with the five dimensions including extrinsic regulation-social, extrinsic regulation-material, introjected regulation, identified regulation, and intrinsic motivation. These findings suggest that banks in Indonesia should provide mental health interventions for employees.

Abstract

Principals are educational institution leaders responsible for the management and growth of their schools. Principals with solid managerial skills can motivate school staff to work effectively and efficiently, thereby enhancing the performance of teachers and support staff. This study's objective was to identify variances in the managerial competence of school principals based on their accreditation ratings. This research employed a cross-sectional survey methodology. One hundred sixteen school principals participated in the survey. For data collection, researchers utilized the school managerial competence research scale. Developed hypotheses are evaluated using the ANOVA technique. The study results indicate that the managerial competency achievements of A-rated school principals are in the very high category, while those of B- and C-rated schools are in the high category. ANOVA analysis demonstrates differences in the managerial skills of school principals based on their accreditation ratings. This finding proves that the managerial competence of principals in accredited A schools is better than those leading schools that are accredited B and C. The ability of the principal to apply leadership principles will have a positive impact on the management of educational institutions. School principals need to increase their managerial competence through training, competency evaluation, and a greater understanding of the curriculum and education programs. In addition, it is necessary to recruit school principals objectively.

Abstract

A knowledge of religion which is classified as very little, is presented at the elementary school level regarding knowledge of the Islamic Religion which makes the nation's generation not have a strong foundation. Religious learning which is expected to be able to instill Islamic knowledge becomes hampered, due to the limited time regulated by class hours. So in 1997, the Al-Ikhlas Madrasah Diniyah was founded by K.H. Ahmad Husaeni who was able to complete the limited time for teaching religious knowledge at the elementary school level. Besides that, the function of teaching at the Madrasah Diniyah level is to realize the teachings of Islam by a Muslim as the demands and expectations of parents for their children. This research seeks to find out and examine the transformation of Madrasah Diniyah Al-Iklhlas which was originally salafi to khalafi and scores of various achievements resulting from its learning. This article uses historical research methods consisting of heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the study show that Madrasah Diniyah Al-Ikhlas has significance in preserving the continuity of Islamic education, namely, an institution for transforming religious knowledge, media for preserving religious knowledge, a vehicle for planting as well as the formation of akhlakul karimah, and to complement Islamic religious education in elementary schools.
