Abstract

The use of the interactive media is important to support teaching and learning process. It also helps the teacher and the students in getting better achievement in writing descriptive texts. This aims of this study were to find out what medium is needed and how it gave significant progress in teaching learning process. This study presented the developing flash media for enchancing seven grade students’ writing ability. The results of the try out were found that the mean of pre-test was lower than the post test. The critical value with the degree of freedom 19 at the 5% alpha level of significant is 2.093. The observed t-value is higher that critical value (2.88 > 2.00). It means that there is a significant difference before and after using flash media in teaching writing descriptive texts.  Based on the students and the teacher’s perception which gave possitive responses on the using of Flash media and the result of calculating students’ work, it can be concluded that the Flash medium is effective and can be used in teaching learning of writing descriptive text at the seventh grade of Junior High School.

Abstract

Penggunaan media interaktif sangat penting untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran. Media juga membantu guru maupun siswa untuk mendapatkan hasil menulis descriptif teks dengan lebih baik. tujuan studi ini untuk mencari tau media apa yang sesuai untuk siswa dan bagaimana media tersebut memberikan progres yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Studi ini menggambarkan pengembangan Flash untuk meningkatkan kemapuan menulis descriptif teks siswa. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan mean pre-test lebih kecil dari mean post-test. hasil t lebih besar dari t hitung. Hal itu berarti ada perbedaan antara sebelum dengan sesudah menggunakan flash. Berdasarkan pendapat guru dan siswa yang memberikan respon positif dan juga hasil test menunjukkan bahwa flash dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks deskriptif siswa.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan visual spasial siswa terlihat pada hasil observasi awal yang menunjukkan bahwa setengah dari jumlah objek observasi tidak dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan yang mengutamakan aspek kemampuan spasial. Padahal kemampuan ini sangat diperlukan dalam memecahkan permasalah geometri ruang. Sehingga perlu adanya upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan visual spasial tersebut, salah satunya dengan melatih siswa untuk berpikir tingkat tinggi, melalui butir soal HOTS. Soal HOTS merupakan proses berpikir yang mengutamakan aspek menganalisis/mengurai (C4), mengevaluasi (C5), dan mencipta (C6). Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk mengetahui sebaran peningkatan kemampuan visual spasial siswa dengan menerapkan butir soal HOTS. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Subyek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII di SMA Muhammadiyah Wonosobo tahun ajaran 2018/2019 yang diambil 65 sampel,sejumlah 32 siswa untuk kelas eksperimen dan 33 siswa ada kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan spasial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata kemampuan visual spasial siswa yang menerapkan butir soal HOTS meningkat secara signifikan, dari 9,344 menjadi 13,563 yaitu sebesar 4,219. Sebaran peningkatan secara signifikan terjadi pada kategori kurang sebelumnya 40,63%, menjadi 0%. Selanjutnya pada kategori sangat baik semula 0% meningkat 15,62 %.

Abstract

Problems for learners of English as Foreign Language may appear due to the lack of English mastery of the teachers. Since teachers are regarded as input for language learning, it impacts the students’ achievement. Pronunciation is one of the problems faced by both Indonesian teachers and students. When the teachers give the correct pronunciation, it results in the correct pronunciation of the students. On the other hand, the wrong pronunciation of the teachers will impact the students’ incorrect pronunciation. This study is aimed to reveal the early childhood teachers’ ability in pronouncing English vocabulary. The findings of the study are to determine the appropriate treatment which might be needed to overcome the problems. The subject of the study were 40 randomly selected early childhood teachers. The data were collected by testing their vocabulary mastery and pronunciation ability. The result of the study showed that the English mastery of early childhood teachers was needed to be developed for less ability in pronouncing the vocabulary correctly. The questionnaires also implied that the teachers need improvement in dealing with English.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the implementation of bahtsul masail fiqih material activities at the Ulumul Qur’an Al-Qindiliyyah Boarding School (2) The role of bahtsul masail fiqih material activities in improving students thinking skills at the Ulumul Qur’an Al-Qindiliyyah Boarding School (3) The inhibiting factors for the implementation of bahtsul masail fiqih material activities at the Ulumul Qur’an Al-Qindiliyyah Boarding School. The method used is field research with a qualitative approach. Collecting data using interview, observation, and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques used are: data reduction data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the bahtsul masail fiqih material at the Ulumul Qur’an Al-Qindiliyyah Islamic Boarding School had several components and stages. Improving students critical thinking skills through bahtsul masail fiqh activities can be seen from the ability to understand and describe problems, search for answers based on strong and relevant sources, identify and analyze answers based on the relationship to the problems discussed, and determine the most appropriate answer as a solution to the problem. The implementation of the bahtsul masail fiqih material encountered several obstacles such as the level of courage and self-confidence of the studens was still low, the reference sources for the answers were incomplete, the studens ability and interest in reading the yellow book were not maximal, and the arrival of students in the bahtsul masail forum was not on time.

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) to determine the suitability of the Auto Drill Speak Arabic Book based on content, language and graphic assessment criteria. 2) to determine the advantages and disadvantages of the Auto Drill Speak Arabic Book. This research uses a qualitative research approach. Where the type of research is liberal research. Data collection techniques use documentary study methods and online data tracking. Then the data sources were obtained from primary data sources and secondary data sources (Arabic books, references related to textbooks, materials, graphic aspects, previous theses, articles, journals and internet sites). The analysis technique used is the content analysis technique, namely an in-depth discussion of the content. The results of the research show that the material of this textbook meets the criteria for a good textbook. The size of the teaching materials used is in accordance with ISO in the field of textbook creation. The placement of book cover layout elements is in accordance with BSNP standards and the design of the book's contents includes a reflection of the contents. book, the harmony of the layout, typography of the book's contents, and illustrations of the contents are also appropriate. In the advantages of this book, researchers found several advantages, including that there are around 1,500 conversation items summarized into 29 theme categories. The conversations are divided into three major themes, namely daily situational conversations, popular expressions, and expressions for Hajj and Umrah. Miscellaneous Arabic cultural material is also presented to enrich insight and increase communication skills in Arabic. Each chapter is equipped with explanations of Arabic language rules. so that our logical patterns of Arabic are formed, not just memorizing. There are bonuses from e-books, videos, to applications for learning Arabic independently. There are bonuses from e-books, videos, to applications for learning. As for the shortcomings of the book, the researcher found several shortcomings, including that the book looks monotonous because each conversation theme is not accompanied by pictures, the conversations in the book are not colored, between the conversations between A and B, they are not colored, only black and white, the book is printed using opaque paper and colorless.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of textbooks circulating among Madrash Ibtidaiyah which are used by teachers and students in the learning process. This research aims to describe the comparison of the quality of class VI Arabic textbooks published by the Ministry of Religion and Erlangga based on the theory of W.F. Mackey. This research uses qualitative research methodology in library research. This research focuses on the quality of books in terms of selection, gradation, presentation and repetition. The results of comparative analysis research on Arabic language textbooks for class VI published by the Ministry of Religion and Erlangga were reviewed based on W.F. Mackey's theory, namely selection, gradation, presentation and repetition. This Class VI Arabic textbook released by the Ministry of Religion has high standards both in terms of selection and assessment. Meanwhile the quality is very good in terms of repetition and presentation. From the four aspects of presentation, the Arabic language textbook for class VI produced by Erlangga is of very high quality. The textbooks published by Erlangga are better than those published by the Ministry of Religion, based on the findings of the quality inspection of the two volumes.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning strategies with an ethnopedagogical approach to strengthen students' self-awareness competencies and public speaking skills in English; to determine the effect of understanding self-awareness on students' interest in digital entrepreneurship and public speaking skills. The study used a Mixed Methods Sequential Explanatory model with a True Experimental Design research design. Quantitative data collection was in the form of descriptive data on understanding self-awareness, interest in digital entrepreneurship, and students' public speaking skills in English, while qualitative data collection was in the form of written interviews. Sampling was carried out using Purposive Sampling with sample criteria coming from: 1) FEB, 2) FBS, and 3) FITK at the Al-Qur'an Science University of Central Java in Wonosobo (UNSIQ). Quantitative analysis techniques used swimmer tests, effectiveness tests, and correlation tests, while for qualitative analysis using descriptive analysis of the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study showed that learning strategies with an ethnopedagogical approach were effective in improving students' self-awareness competencies and public speaking skills in English, and self-awareness competencies had a strong and very strong influence on students' public speaking skills in English and students' interest in digital entrepreneurship.
