Abstract

The effectiveness of fertilizer subsidy programs has become a concern in various studies, but research that specifically discusses the relationship between the effectiveness of fertilizer distribution based on the six-right indicators (6T) and changes in farmers’ income at the micro level remains limited. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the government’s fertilizer subsidy program on the income of rice farmers in Simaninggir Village, Sipirok Subdistrict, South Tapanuli Regency. This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design, involving rice farmers receiving subsidized fertilizer who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured interviews and documentation, and were then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively based on the six-right indicators (6T). The results showed that the effectiveness of the fertilizer subsidy program had not been fully optimal, with the right type and right place indicators falling into the very effective category, right price in the effective category, right time and right quality in the moderately effective category, and right quantity in the ineffective category. In addition, the findings revealed an average decrease in farmers’ income of 1.19%, an increase in production costs of 3.28%, and a decline in profit of 2.50% during the 2024–2025 period. These findings indicate that the accuracy of the quantity and timing of fertilizer distribution plays an important role in supporting the success of the fertilizer subsidy program and improving farmers’ welfare. The conclusion of this study affirms the need to improve the distribution system of subsidized fertilizer so that its implementation becomes more effective, while also contributing theoretically to studies of agricultural policy and farm economics and providing practical implications for the government and stakeholders in improving the effectiveness of the fertilizer subsidy program.

The digital marketing mix in songket businesses has become a focus in various previous studies; however, research that specifically discusses the optimization of the 7P digital marketing mix in increasing sales at the Songket AINA Silungkang business remains limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the 7P digital marketing mix in increasing sales at the Songket AINA business in Silungkang Subdistrict, Sawahlunto City. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 11 participants selected through the purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation and were then analyzed using interactive analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the product and place variables have high performance, whereas promotion, process, people, price, and physical evidence are in the low category, which affects sales fluctuations throughout 2024. These findings contribute to the development of studies on the 7P marketing mix in the digital context and broaden understanding of marketing strategies in locally culture-based MSMEs. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that the integration of all elements of the digital marketing mix is important for increasing sales more stably and sustainably. The practical implication is that business actors need to optimize digital promotion, improve human resource capacity, and enhance operational processes so that marketing strategies are more adaptive to market dynamics.

Abstract

Oil palm productivity has received attention in various studies, yet studies specifically discussing independent smallholders’ efforts to increase oil palm productivity from the perspective of sharia business remain limited. This study aims to analyze oil palm farmers’ efforts to increase productivity, identify the obstacles they face, and analyze farmers’ strategies for overcoming these obstacles based on the perspective of sharia business in Nagari Kamang Baru. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving independent oil palm farmers and farm laborers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that efforts to increase productivity were carried out through land fertilization before planting, the use of superior seedlings, regular fertilization, plantation maintenance, and oil palm replanting. The main obstacles faced by farmers included environmental factors, seedling quality, labor availability, limited capital, and farm business management. In addition, cooperative practices among farmers, mutual assistance in the harvesting process, and efforts to maintain the sustainability of farm businesses reflect the application of sharia business values in oil palm agricultural management. This study contributes to the development of sharia agribusiness studies and expands understanding of the relationship between agricultural productivity and the application of sharia business principles in oil palm farm management. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening farmers’ capacity, sharia value-based cooperation, and sustainable farm business governance in increasing oil palm productivity.
