Abstract

The aim of this research is to provide junior high school students with learning experiences to increase their understanding of environmental conservation and disaster mitigation. This study focuses on reforestation and disaster mitigation efforts through the application of project-based learning models in the surrounding environment. This research was a descriptive study with a post-test design approach, conducted at SMPN Ranoyapo, South Minahasa Regency. There were 42 students of class VII who participated in this study. The results of this research showed that the students' understanding of environmental conservation was in the level of excellent category (26%), good category (48%), fairly good category (24%), and poor category (2%). Meanwhile, the highest average percentage of students' understanding of disaster mitigation efforts was in the excellent category (41%), followed by the good category (39%), fairly good category (16%), and poor category (4%). These results indicate that project-based learning can improve students' understanding of learning, particularly that related to environmental learning.

Abstract

The level of salinity in water quality is one of the determining factors in the success of seaweed aquaculture production. The purpose of this study was to develop a website-based monitoring system for the level of water salinity in seaweed ponds. Monitoring system development is carried out by designing and developing an integrated website. Measurement of water salinity in ponds uses a sensor with a microcontroller connected via the internet network so that monitoring can be carried out without the need to go to the pond location. This type of research is development (Research and Development) which refers to the waterfall model (Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation, Maintenance). The results of the research show that website development as a monitoring system has been successfully developed. There are four pages that can be displayed on the website for monitoring seaweed pond water salinity, namely the login page, homepage, viewing data, and monitoring water salinity. This research is expected to provide an overview in monitoring water quality in increasing the productivity of seaweed cultivation.

Abstract

Clackers are one of the most popular toys in Indonesian society today. There are many physics concepts in this toys that can make clackers as a source of learning physics. The purpose of this research is to examine the concepts of physics, especially the concepts of momentum and collisions in clackers’ games. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with an explanation in the form of descriptive analysis. Literature study and observational analysis were used in this study. This study provides an illustration that every ball's motion in the clackers’ game contains the concept of momentum at each point of its motion and collision when the two balls collide. The results of this study are expected to explain that clackers have the potential as a source of learning physics.

Abstract

The background of this research is to produce professional teachers with digital competency through training in making web-based learning media. This study aims to analyze how effective the training on teachers' knowledge in generating web-based learning media is to produce professional teachers. This research used a quantitative study with the one-group pre-test/post-test design approach. This research was conducted by the 20 teachers at SMAN 2 Tondano who trained in making web-based learning media integrated by a project-based learning model (PjBL). Based on data analysis with the N-gain test, this study concludes that web-based learning media creation training on teachers at SMAN 2 Tondano has improved teacher knowledge in a medium category, with an average increase of 43%. The data has also been confirmed through a hypothetical test showing that the α0.05 significance value indicates that training activities are running effectively. These results indicate that training can improve teachers' knowledge, support a better learning process, and make teachers more professional with digital competency.

Abstract

This study aims to simulate and analyze temperature rise due to the greenhouse effect through a simple experiment and numerical modeling using MATLAB. Two systems—a sealed glass jar (simulating a greenhouse gas-trapping atmosphere) and an open jar (control)—were exposed to sunlight for 30 minutes, with temperature recorded at 5-minute intervals. Experimental results showed that the sealed jar experienced a higher temperature increase (24°C to 28.5°C) compared to the open jar (24°C to 28°C), demonstrating heat trapping. Data were analyzed using MATLAB's Curve Fitting Toolbox for regression modeling and graphical visualization. Numerical simulations exhibited strong consistency with experimental data, confirming the model's accuracy in predicting temperature trends. The study concludes that MATLAB is an effective computational tool for simulating physics phenomena related to global warming while highlighting the urgency of environmental mitigation. These findings can serve as a foundation for developing applied physics experiments or small-scale climate models.

Abstract

Asap cair telah banyak diaplikasikan diberbagai bidang. Beberapa penelitian banyak yang mengembangkan metode, alat dan bahan pembuatan asap cair. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang alat pembuatan asap cair dengan metode pirolisis yang sederhana dalam skala laboratorium. Sasarannya adalah alat ini dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa untuk praktikum agar semakin menambah wawasan dan keterampilan mahasiswa tentang asap cair. Adapun tahapan penelitian ini adalah dimulai dari studi literatur, desain teknologi, fabrikasi dan pengujian alat serta tahap evaluasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah alat pirolisis asap cair telah berhasil dibuat dengan kapasitas 6 kg. berdasarkan hasil pengujian dihasilkan asap cair jenis grade 3.

Abstract

The energy crisis is one of the major challenges facing the world today, triggered by over-reliance on fossil energy sources, rapid population growth, and the threat of climate change. One technology that attracts attention is supercapacitors. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of carbon activation using KOH with varying concentrations on electrical conductivity as a supercapacitor electrode. By using dehydration method, carbonization at 500℃. The chemical activation process is treated with variations in KOH concentration of 6M, 7M, 8M with physical activation in a furnace at 750℃. The test results of conductivity and density values show that the comparison with the increase in KOH concentration results in an increase in conductivity of 0.1012 S/m, 0.1694 S/m, and 0.3282 S/m. Accompanied by a decrease in density of 9.8810 A/

Abstract

This community service aims to increase knowledge and competence in creating website-based learning media integrated with the project-based learning (PjBL) learning model for teachers at SMAN 2 Tondano, Minahasa Regency. Implementing this service used training, which included lectures, discussions, simulations, and mentoring. The activity evaluation instrument used a questionnaire and was analyzed descriptively. The results of this service showed that the ability of ICT teachers at SMAN 2 Tondano increased in creating website-based learning media integrated with the PjBL model. The implementation of training and mentoring activities received a positive response from participants, as evidenced by the enthusiasm and activeness of teachers in participating in the training. The evaluation results showed that the level of satisfaction and increase in teacher knowledge after participating in the training was in the very good category. Teachers were very interested in using website-based learning media because of its advantages and integration with the PjBL learning model.
