Abstract

Photo-responsive molecule Sudan III has been developed in form of thin film to pursue their excellent properties especially for optical sensor device application. However, thin film of Sudan III possesses a weak mechanical property. And therefore in order to enhance this functional property of the Sudan III molecule was embedded within polymer matrix to form composite material. In this research, the thin films composite of Sudan III-Poly(N-Vinylcarbazole) or Sudan III/PVK were fabricated by using casting and spin coating methods. The structure of Sudan III-Poly(N-Vinylcarbazole) composite material were characterized by using FTIR, XRD measurement and for the optical property (absorbance) by UV-VIS measurement. Abstract

Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji efek permukaan substrat ITO dan medan listrik luar dalam mengatur orientasi molekul film DR-1; dan juga mengkaji sifat optik film DR-1 untuk aplikasi divais fotonik. Metode fabrikasi yang digunakan adalah metode EFA-PVD (Electric Field Assisted Physical Vapor Deposition,). Metode tersebut adalah modifikasi dari metodekonvensional PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) yang dilengkapi dengan penambahan medan listrik luar (E) dalam chamber. Film dibuat di atas permukaan substrat ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) dengan deposisi molekul-molekul DR-1 oleh variasi medan listrik luar. Film dianalisis dan dikarakterisasidengan menggunakan spektroskopi SEM, difraksi sinar-X, dan reflektometer. Hasil analisis pengukuran SEM, dan difraksi sinar-X memperlihatkan bahwa molekul-molekul DR-1 tersusun teratur (stacking) tegak lurus permukaan substrat, yang menunjukkan suatu indikasi efek permukaan (surfactant effect) substrat yang kuat dari ikatan hidrogen (hydrogen bonding) molekul DR-1 dengan substrat. Hasil pengukuran sifat optik menunjukkan bahwa dengan peningkatan medan listrik luar, terjadi peningkatan konsentrasi molekul-molekul DR-1 yang terdeposisi teratur paralel (stacking) tegak lurus permukaan substrat yang ditandai dengan peningkatan indeks bias film.Kata kunci: Disperse red-1. Abstract

Research on characteristics of fluid-liquid at hot spring water manifestation of Bukit Kasih Kanonang, Kabupaten Minahasa, North Sulawesi have been carried out. The hot spring water manifestation of the Bukit Kasih Kanonang has been known as one of natural tourism object in North Sulawesi. However, the fluid-liquid characterstics at this manifestation location are not yet identified. The aim of this research is to know the chemistry element composition in the fluid-liquid at the hot spring water manifestion Bukit Kasih Kanong and also physical properties such as conductivity and temperature of the fluid-liquid. This research result is very important information for the North Sulawesi community or tourist who visiting this location. The identification the element composition in the fluid-liquid has been measured by using XRF (X-Ray fluorescence spectrometry). And the conductivity and pH were measured using Prolab 2000 Schott Instruments. The experimental results of conductivity measurement and pH, and temperature of fluid-liquid in the three manifestation location are discussed in this article.  The experimental result shows that, the pH value  of  the fluid-liquid in the manifestion location is categorized as strong electrolit acid. The conductivity value of fluid-liquid is depent on its pH value. And the pH value is strongly determined by the Cloride acid composition which dissociates in the fluid-liquid.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um024v2i12017p029

Abstract

Perkembangan penggunaan material/bahan bangunan rumah dengan menggunakan atap seng berbasis baja ringan semakin pesat karena dengan menggunakan material tersebut lebih tahan lama dan relatif lebih cepat pekerjaan diselesaikan. Namun demikian pengerjaan konstruksi bangunan/rumah/garasi dengan atap seng berbasis baja ringan diperlukan pengetahuan tentang material, disain dan konstruksi serta ketrampilan dalam pembuatannya. Berdasarkan pengamatan kami bahwa, Masyarakat-Tukang di Kelurahan Titiwungen Selatan, Kecamatan Sario Kota Manado kalah bersaing dengan tenaga kerja dari luar daerah dalam mengerjakan konstruksi bangunan/rumah dengan atap seng berbasis baja ringan karena mereka hanya terbiasa dengan mengerjakan atap seng berbasis kayu (konstruksi dengan bahan kayu). Disamping kekurangan tentang pengetahuan disain dan kosntruksi atap seng dengan baja ringan mereka juga belum memiliki ketrampilan serta peralatan seperti bor-elektrik.   Dengan demikian mereka kehilangan peluang kerja sehingga sangat berdampak pada masalah ekonomi/pendapatan keluarga. Melalui Pendidikan dan Latihan Kerja merupakan solusi tepat yakni memberikan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan bagi masyarakat-tukang agar mereka boleh bersaing dan mendapat peluang kerja dan akhirnya dapat  meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga.  Melalui PKM Latihan Kerja ini para tukang (masyarakat)  di Kelurahan Titiwungen Selatan Kecamatan Sario Kota Manado telah berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan  ketrampilan membuat disain dan konstruksi atap seng berbasis baja ringan. Para tukang (masyarakat) di Kelurahan Titiwungen Selatan Kecamatan Sario Kota Manado menyarankan agar  PKM Latihan Kerja ini kiranya dapat di kembangkan untuk pola /disain konstruksi yang lebih variatif.

Abstract

Perkembangan penggunaan material/bahan bangunan rumah dengan menggunakan material logam seperti atap seng berbasis baja ringan, gantungan baju, lemari, rak cepatu dll semakin pesat karena dengan menggunakan material tersebut lebih tahan lama dan relatif lebih cepat pekerjaan diselesaikan. Namun demikian pengerjaan konstruksi bangunan/rumah/garasi dengan atap seng atau gantungan baju, lemari, rak cepatu dll berbasis baja ringan diperlukan pengetahuan tentang material, disain dan konstruksi serta ketrampilan dalam pembuatannya. Masyarakat di Kelurahan Titiwungen Selatan, Kecamatan Sario Kota Manado kalah bersaing dalam mengerjakan konstruksi bangunan/rumah dengan atap seng berbasis baja ringan karena mereka hanya terbiasa dengan mengerjakan atap seng berbasis kayu (konstruksi dengan bahan kayu). Disamping kekurangan tentang pengetahuan disain dan konstruksi atap seng, gantungan baju, lemari dan rak cepatu dengan baja ringan mereka juga belum memiliki ketrampilan serta peralatan seperti bor-elektrik. Dengan demikian mereka kurang berdaya dan kehilangan peluang kerja sehingga sangat berdampak pada masalah ekonomi/pendapatan keluarga. Oleh karena itu melalui pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dibiayai oleh LPPM Unima ini kami ingin melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian dengan judul : “PPM LATIHAN KERJA BAGI MASYARAKAT TENTANG DISAIN DAN KONSTRUKSI BAJA RINGAN DI KOTA MANADO Tulisan ini kiranya boleh memberikan kontribusi nyata memecahkan persoalan dalam mengatasi persoalan ketrampilan tenaga kerja di Kota Manado khususnya di Kelurahan Titiwungen Selatan, Kecamatan Sario. Kami percaya melalui kegiatan latihan kerja bagi masyarakat akan berhasil dan bemanfaat karena kerjasama Perguruan Tinggi (Unima), masyarakat Kelurahan Titiwungen Seatan, Kecamatan Sario dan pemerintah Kota Manado.

Abstract

Abstract. Highly crystalline thin films of photorefractive Disperse Red 1 (DR 1) molecule have been fabricated on clean substrate of ITO (indium tin oxide) glass by means of physical vapor deposition at various substrate temperatures. In addition to molecular orientation and organization revealed by their XRD and FTIR spectral characteristic and the enhancement of those effects by substrate temperature, further analysis of FTIR spectrum around nitrobenzene absorption band indicates the formation of strong hydrogen bond resulting in a head-tail stacking of the molecules. The deposited films also show systematic reduction of light absorption in the visible region with increasing substrate temperature. This modification of the optical property is clearly favorable for long wavelength photonic applications of DR1 film. Pengaruh Suhu Substrat pada Film Tipis 'Disperse Red 1' yang Dideposisi pada Gelas ITO dalam VakumSari. Dalam eksperimen ini telah berhasil diperoleh melalui proses deposisi vakum sejumlah film tipis bahan fotorefraktif dari molekul "Disperse Red 1" (DR1) dengan krisalinitas tinggi di atas substrat gelas ITO ("indium tin oxide") pada berbagai suhu. Selain efek orientasi dan organisasi molekul yang ditunjukkan oleh karakteristik spectra XRD dan FTIR bersangkutan serta peningkatan efek tersebut dengan suhu substrat, analisis lebih lanjut dari data FTIR di sekitar pita absorpsi nitrobenzene telah mengungkapkan tanda embentukan ikatan hydrogen yang kuat yang menghasilkan susunan "head-tail" yang bertumpuk. Film yang terdeposisi juga memperkihatkan pengurangan absorpsi cahaya secara sistematik di daerah tampak, seiring dengan peningkatan suhu substrat. Perubahan sifat optik ini jelas bermanfaat bagi aplikasi film DR1 untuk devais fotonik dalam daerah gelombang panjang.

Abstract

One of marine current power plant equipment is turbine. In the design of marine current turbines required variables such as velocity and kinetic energy. This paper presents numerical study on a numerical design of marine current for predicting velocity and kinetic energy in the Bangka strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia that developed from Yaxum/3D model. This study includes the simulation of velocity and kinetic energy distributions at low and high tide current conditions by two flow rates of 0.1 and 0.3 Sv respectively.  The numerical method used to design computational program. Semi-implicit finite difference method used to 3D shallow water flow.  It found distributions of velocity and kinetic energy at high tide current condition greater than low tide current condition. The future, these results will be developed in marine current power plant project in the Bangka strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Abstract

The study was carried out with the goal of producing teaching products with the aid of Amrita olabs on sound wave materials for the 11th grade in physics. The study was conducted at 11th SMA Negeri 1 Tondano science class, which held 33 students. In this study only 22 of the 33 trainees participated in the study. Amrita olabs is the latest innovation for simulations of virtual laboratory experiments. Amrita olabs can be used not only in labtop but also in android/iphone phones. The research method used was research and development (R&D) with model 4D. Data retrieval involves validating the learning tools of Amrita olabs using angkets. Based on the results of improved response analysis after using the teaching material Amrita olabs is obtained that the teaching material with Amrita olabs is said to be good according to the avarage percentage of learners’ responses. The effectiveness of using an Amrita olabs based on gain value is gained 54,7% by medium category. Analysis of the results of the study suggests that the teaching material provided by Amrita olabs is worthy of use in the study of physics and is capable of improving the physical abilities of learners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of the Guided Inquiry learning model on the physics learning outcomes of straight motion material in class VIII SMP Kristen Tomohon. The samples used in this study were students of class VIII-A, Tomohon Christian Middle School. This study uses an experimental method using the same subject design (treatment by subject design). The data collection instrument used test questions which were analyzed using the t-test. The results showed that the guided inquiry learning model obtained t_count > t_table, namely 4,930 > 1,684. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using the Guided Inquiry learning model on the process and learning outcomes of students of class VIII physics in straight motion material at Tomohon Christian Middle School.

Abstract

Geothermal development is carried out by increasing the efficiency of existing generators. In this study, geothermal development at the Lahendong Unit-2 geothermal power plant is carried out by conducting exergy analysis and optimizing geothermal plant efficiency using a genetic algorithm by adjusting the pressure on the separator. Exergy calculations and optimization of genetic algorithms, using the Python programming language with the help of libraries such as PyXSteam, Pandas, Numpy, matplotlib, random, and time. Exergy flow and efficiency are calculated on the components of the separator, turbine, condenser, cooling tower, and the entire plant. The amount of exergy that enters the generator from geothermal fluids is 28882.73 kW. The amount of exergy that comes in produces an output power of 13,000 kW with an overall efficiency of the generator is 45.010%, and the amount of exergy from brine is 1794.11 kW. Optimization using the genetic algorithm method produces the most optimal output power value of 13035,480445 kW at a separator pressure of 10.4025 bar. The increased quality of the steam generates this increase in power so that the mass flow rate of the steam that rotates the turbine becomes more than before.
