Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the large volume of sedimentation contained in the Batang Piruko River because there was a lot of sedimentation that caused siltation of the river. Apart from being useful for developing and increasing knowledge about sedimentation, for the community in Kenagarian Koto Padang this can also be used as input as an effort to prevent damage to the vicinity of the Batang Piruko river flow. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research, to achieve the research objectives a survey method is used. The map used is a watershed map. Determination of sample points to collect data on physical conditions at the research location was carried out using purposive sampling, namely determining sample points with certain considerations. The results of the calculation of the average river discharge in the dry season is m3/second and the average discharge in the rainy season is 68.7 m3/second. While the amount of sediment load (QS) in the dry season is 24.97651 tons/year and the amount (QS) in the rainy season is 769.1134 tons/year. Based on the calculation results that have been done it can be concluded that the amount of sedimentation contained in the river flow Piruko stems in the dry season and rainy season are different, the amount of sedimentation increases as the river discharge increases. So based on the calculation of the sediment content that has been done, we know that the Batang Piruko river is damaged.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui luasan perubahan penggunaan lahan Kecamatan Gunung Talang dari tahun 2000-2017. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey karena sebagian besar data secara langsung diolah menggunakan metode pengamatan dan pengukuran lapangan. Pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan sistem informasi geografi (SIG). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah menggunakan SIG dan deskriptif, data yang diperoleh dari hasil analisis SIG di sajikan dalam bentuk peta overlay yaitu peta penggunaan lahan tahun 2000-2017 kemudian menghasilkan peta baru dan tabel perubahan penggunaan lahan kemudian dijelaskan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perubahan penggunaan lahan 17 tahun terakhir terjadi pada perubahan pemanfaatan lahan, terutama penurunan sawah seluas 33,59 km² dan penurunan hutan sebesar 11,49 km², kebun campuran seluas 11,03 km², areal pemukiman bertambah 39,26 km². Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perubahan penggunaan lahan adalah tingginya tingkat laju pertumbuhan penduduk di Kecamatan Gunung Talang.

Abstract

In order to realize the objectives of Outcome Based Curriculum (OBC), the Student Centered Learning (SCL) model is the main key. This study is aimed to describe the SCL learning model in the Sea Transportation study program at Poltekpel Sumbar. This research is qualitative research using descriptive methods and library research. The subjects were all lecturers at Poltekpel Sumbar, especially lecturers in the Sea Transportation study program. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and literature studies. Data analysis techniques were carried out by: (1) recording field observations and recording the interview process, (2) collecting all data from observations and interviews, and (3) making conclusions from the results of observations and interviews, (4) looking for literature references related to research from the Internet. The results explain that there are several SCL learning models in the Sea Transportation study program at Poltekpel Sumbar, namely: Self-Directed Learning (SDL), Simulation Based Learning (SBL), Observation Based Learning (OBL), Practice Centered Learning (PCL), Module Based Learning (MBL), and Technology Based Learning (TBL). Research suggestions for lecturers are to be able to apply the SCL model in the learning process and for students to motivate themselves to implement the SCL model for learning activities.

Abstract

The difficulty of handling the corona virus has made many state leaders determine steps to stop its spread, even having to determine very difficult policies, one of the policies that greatly affects various aspects of life is the limitation of social interaction, this restriction will certainly affect especially in the field of education, because for the sake of stop the spread of this corona all students and lecturers study from home, a change in the way of teaching and learning from face-to-face or offline (outside the network) to online (in the network) requires the readiness of all elements, the purpose of this study is to find out how much effectiveness online learning is during the covid 19 pandemic for STKIP Ahlussunnah Bukittinggi students. This study uses a quantitative model with a survey method. Respondents from this study amounted to 126 students. The results of this study indicate that 89% of students want face-to-face learning, while only 9% of students want online learning, while 2% want online forever, it can be concluded that online learning is seen from the effectiveness, online learning has not been able to achieve learning objectives. The unpreparedness of students and lecturers, both in terms of the ability to use technology and the availability of adequate learning facilities, poor internet network connections at home, costs, and the inability of students and lecturers to adapt to new learning methods to be able to provide virtual conducive classroom conditions. factors that make online learning has not been effectively implemented.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of outdoor learning on the attitude of environmental care for students of Geography Education in STKIP Ahlussunah Bukittinggi. This research is an experiment to assess the effect of the educational approach on student’s attitudes and behavior before and after the treatment being given. Referred to the homogeneity test on students' cognitive ability result, it can be concluded that the characters of the subject research were homogeneous. The determination of the experimental and the control class could be done by using a random method. The result of the study shows that the implementation of the outdoor learning can improve student’s awareness toward the environment. It is detected by the significant difference of the tests results between the control class and the experimental class. The using of outdoor class approach is proven to enhance the quality of students’ attitudes in environmental learning material, because it motivates students during the learning process

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the role of geography learning in high school determined by the students' knowledge and awareness toward the risks of flood disaster in Kecamatan Kubung, West Sumatera. The students’ awareness and response are expected during the emergency condition of flood disaster, especially in securing their life and properties. The research was conducted in several high school in Kecamatan Kubung, Kabupaten Solok. The research use sample determination table (Isac and Michael) as the sampling technique, and multiple linear regression as the analysis method. The test results shows that there is a significant influence of knowledge and awareness toward the adolescent preparedness. The influence of both factors can be seen from the value of the determination coefficient that is equal to 0.757, which means the rate of high school students’ preparadness toward the risk of flood disaster in Kecamatan Kubung is 67.5%

Abstract

Research on sediment discharge measurements and DAS rod hollow central part Kenagarian Selayo Solok District, this study was conducted in January 2017- February 2017. This study aims to determine the volume of sediment contained in DAS Batang Lembang central part because a lot of precipitation occurs that causes silting up of the river, the type of research used in this research is descriptive, to achieve the objectives of this study used a survey method. Determination of sample points to take physical condition data on the location of the research is done by using purposive sampling, that the determination of sample points with a certain considerations. The result of the calculation of average river flow in the dry season 3 m3 / sec and average discharge in the rainy season is 68.7 m3 / sec. While the amount of sediment loads (QS) in the dry season is at 24.97651 tons / year and the amount (QS) during the rainy season is 769.1134 tons / year. Based on calculations that have been done can be concluded that the amount of sediment contained in DAS Batang Lembang the middle of the dry season and the rainy season is different, large sedimentation increases with increasing streamflow.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the physical quality of water Pamsimas program based on the nature of physics, chemistry and biology in Nagari Cupak District of Mount Talang in Solok regency. This study was a descriptive observational study to obtain a picture of the physical quality of the water of clean water in Nagari Cupak Program Pamsimas District of Gunung Talang in Solok regency. Total Sampling is the first spring that is the source of water Pamsimas. Physical quality of water adjusted with 492 in 2010. The Minister of Health concerning requirements and Monitoring Water Quality. Results of spring test physical parameters obtained by the odorless, tasteless, color and temperature of 22,6ºC. Chemical parameters springs obtained by the nitrite <0.01 mg / l, iron 0.06 mg / l, hardness of 230 mg / l, manganese <0.25 mg / l, pH of 5.5 mg / l, sulfate 2, 48 mg / l, and an organic substance 1.26 mg / l. Results of laboratory tests for microbiological parameters (total coliforms) in spring is 4 per 100 ml sample.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the problem of cadets' leadership, which is still not perfect. The cadets' leadership is assumed to be influenced by parenting patterns from the institution and their self-efficacy. This research aims to describe the influence of parenting patterns and self-efficacy on the leadership of the cadet regiment. This quantitative research applied ex post facto methods. The population was the cadets of Batch VII and VIII at Merchant Marine Polytechnic of West Sumatera. Accordingly, the research sample used a probability sampling technique with proportionate stratified random sampling by using the Slovin formula. The total sample of this research was 191 cadets, while the instrumentation was a questionnaire about parenting patterns, self-efficacy, and leadership. The data collection technique involved giving a questionnaire directly to the sample. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis by using the SPSS application. The results showed that Hypotheses 1, 2, and 3 were accepted, which means parenting patterns and self-efficacy influenced the leadership of the cadet regiment, and there is an influence of self-efficacy and parenting patterns simultaneously on the leadership of the cadet regiment. The relevant practical implication of this research focused on both internal stakeholders, namely the lecturers or officers and the cadets of Merchant Marine Polytechnic of West Sumatera. Therefore, it is recommended that the director and management pay attention to the parenting patterns and the cadets pay attention to their self-efficacy in order to develop better leadership of the cadet regiment.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see how outdoor learning impacts the learning outcomes of social responsibility in environmental care among students of the Nautical Study Program at the West Sumatra Shipping Polytechnic. The research was conducted using a pre-test and post-test design. The research instrument is a test that evaluates the learning outcomes of social responsibility, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The content validity test of this learning outcome test instrument received a high validity score when evaluated for content validity by experts at a maritime institution, with a content validity score of 3.7 and an A category rating. The results of the normality test using the Wilcoxon test show that in the experimental group, all participants experienced an increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores, with an average of 15.50 and a total of 465, indicating a significant change. In the control group, 27 participants experienced an increase in scores, but only 3 participants had the same score between the pre-test and post-test, with an average of 14.00 and a total of 378. The output of the statistical test shows that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000, which is less than 0.05, allowing us to conclude that the hypothesis is accepted, meaning there is a difference in learning outcomes using the outdoor learning method between the Pre-test and Post-test. The effectiveness test of the instrument shows that the test questions have a balanced level of difficulty and adequate discriminatory power. The instrument is effective because the N-Gain percentage is 73.54%, and the reliability test using the pre-test and post-test methods and inter-rater reliability found a t-value of -1.7162, indicating good consistency. The research results show that outdoor learning significantly improves the learning outcomes of social responsibility towards the maritime environment for Nautical Studies students.
