This article aims to identify and analyze the role of banks in financing small and medium enterprises in Indonesia North Sumatra Province (SUMUT). The analytical tool used is a quantitative approach. The results of this study are that the role of banking in the development of small and medium enterprises in the province of North Sumatra is very important. This is because the role of non-bank credit and financial institutions in financing small and medium enterprises is still relatively low. Abstract

Poverty is a condition that has not and has never been resolved on this earth. People who are still in poverty are still found in many countries, even in developed countries the phenomenon of poverty is a serious problem. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDPHB), Labor, Population on Poverty in North Sumatra Province. The analysis used in this study is a time series data analysis model, with secondary data for 2001-2020 obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of North Sumatra. The results obtained from this study are; In the short term, the variables of GRDPHB (LNX1), Labor Force (LNX2), and Total Population do not have a significant effect on Poverty in North Sumatra Province. However, the Error Correction Term (ECT) is significant in the short run, which indicates an adjustment towards the long-run equilibrium after a shock; In the long run, the GRDP variable (LNXI) has a negative and significant effect on Poverty in North Sumatra Province. Meanwhile, the variables of Labor Force (LNYX) and Total Population are not significant. The Error Correction Model (ECM) used in this study can explain about 87% of the variation in the Poverty variable in North Sumatra Province.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the rupiah exchange rate, international cocoa prices, and cocoa production volume on Indonesia's cocoa export volume from 2004 to 2023. This research employs a quantitative method using secondary time series data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Bank Indonesia, and the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO). The analysis method used is the Error Correction Model (ECM), preceded by stationarity and cointegration tests. The results indicate that in the long term, the rupiah exchange rate has a negative and significant effect on cocoa export volume (t-statistic –2.174528; prob. 0.0450), while international cocoa prices (t-statistic 0.687522; prob. 0.0016) and cocoa production volume (t-statistic 2.594265; prob. 0.0196) have a positive and significant effect. In the short term, the rupiah exchange rate has a negative effect, while international cocoa prices and cocoa production have a positive effect on export volume. Simultaneously, all three variables significantly influence cocoa export volume with an F-statistic of 7.964367 (long term) and 3.121247 (short term). The coefficient of determination (R²) is 59.89% in the long term and 47.13% in the short term, indicating that the rupiah exchange rate, international cocoa prices, and cocoa production volume can explain variations in Indonesia's cocoa export volume.
