Abstract

Increasing scientific literacy in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era is a must. Scientific literacy is a skill that is very necessary in the 21st century, so it is important to improve it through various strategies. One effective strategy is innovative learning with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach, which integrates science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the learning process. This research involved samples from the Subject Teachers' Conference (MGMP) at the elementary, middle and high school levels in Kediri City to analyze the effectiveness of STEM-based learning in increasing scientific literacy. This article is a literature review that discusses the relationship between scientific literacy and the competencies needed in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, as well as how the STEM approach can be a solution in increasing scientific literacy

Abstract

High-risk pregnancy and childbirth remain major contributors to maternal and neonatal mortality in Indonesia. Limited knowledge among women of reproductive age regarding pregnancy risk factors and delayed early detection are common community problems. This community service program aimed to improve knowledge and conduct early detection of high-risk childbirth through integrated education and screening. The activity was conducted in the working area of Balowerti Public Health Center, Kediri City, involving 20 women of reproductive age. Methods included reproductive health education, early risk screening, counseling, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test. Results showed an increase in average knowledge scores from 56 to 84 (50% improvement). Screening results indicated that 60% of participants were not at risk, 30% had moderate risk, and 10% were categorized as high risk and received further counseling and referral. This program effectively enhanced participants’ knowledge and supported preventive efforts to reduce pregnancy and childbirth complications

Abstract

Kehamilan trimester akhir merupakan periode krusial yang menuntut kesiapan fisik dan psikologis ibu dalam menghadapi persalinan, menyusui, dan perawatan bayi baru lahir. Keterbatasan pengetahuan serta minimnya pengalaman praktis sering kali menjadi hambatan dalam mempersiapkan diri secara optimal, yang berpotensi berdampak pada morbiditas ibu dan bayi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil trimester akhir melalui program SMART MOM CLASS. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 2 Desember 2025 di Kelurahan Mojoroto, Kecamatan Mojoroto, Kota Kediri, dengan melibatkan ibu hamil usia kehamilan 35–38 minggu. Metode yang digunakan meliputi edukasi interaktif, diskusi, demonstrasi, serta praktik senam hamil. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan peserta. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan, ditandai dengan perubahan skor dari kategori cukup menjadi baik. Peserta mampu mendemonstrasikan teknik menyusui secara tepat dan memahami aktivitas fisik yang aman selama kehamilan. Sebanyak 8 dari 10 peserta menyatakan bahwa praktik langsung senam hamil memudahkan pemahaman dibandingkan metode ceramah semata. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kesiapan ibu hamil menghadapi persalinan dan masa nifas melalui pendekatan pembelajaran partisipatif dan aplikatif.
