Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the teacher's role in increasing the discipline of students at SDN 28 Bisang and to find out the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for the role of teachers in increasing the discipline of students at SDN 28 Bisang. The research was conducted at SDN 28 Bisang. This research approach is a qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques in the form of observation and interviews. The collected data were then analyzed using the techniques proposed by Milles and Huberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the teacher's role in increasing the discipline of students at SDN 28 Bisang included: providing an example of discipline for students by coming to school on time; giving advice to students about discipline; reprimand and give punishment to students who arrive late; scold students who often (repeatedly) come late; and control the activities of students at school and at home. Thus, the teacher in this case has more of a role as an educator and role model than just being a teacher. Supporting factors and inhibiting factors for the teacher's role in improving the discipline of students at SDN 28 Bisang, among others, the supporting factors are the application of school rules and regulations, the role of the principal who is quite strict about disciplinary problems for both teachers and students. Whereas the inhibiting factors are the lack of cooperation between fellow teachers, the lack of awareness of students to become disciplined people, the lack of awareness of parents in paying attention to the discipline of students when at home, there are still many teachers who give assignments individually rather than group assignments, and teachers often get criticism and suggestions that are not constructive from the community or parents of students.

Abstract

Kelainan genetik merupakan salah satu bidang yang penting dalam dunia kesehatan, yang menarik perhatian para peneliti, praktisi medis, dan pendidik. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat pemahaman siswa mengenai penyakit kelainan genetik dan cara pencegahannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei, dan pengumpulan data yang memberikan gambaran jelas tentang pengetahuan siswa mengenai kelainan genetik. Berdasarkan data yang kami peroleh tentang penyakit kelainan genetik sebanyak 57 ,40%. Sedangkan data tentang cara pencegahan kelainan genetik memiliki nilai yang lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan yang mengetahui penyakit kelainan genetik yaitu sebanyak 65,80%. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi beberapa area, yang pengetahuan siswa masih perlu ditingkatkan.

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of using the Wordwall website as a learning strategy to enhance students' vocabulary mastery. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the research involved a control group and an experimental group from [mention specific school/level, e.g., a junior high school in Medan]. Data were collected using a vocabulary test (pre-test and post-test) and analyzed using t-test statistical analysis. The findings indicated a significant improvement in vocabulary mastery among students in the experimental group who utilized the Wordwall website compared to the control group. This suggests that the Wordwall website is an effective and engaging tool for improving students' vocabulary acquisition. The study recommends the integration of interactive digital platforms like Wordwall into language learning curricula to support vocabulary development.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the need to assess the effectiveness of lesson plans prepared by class XI biology teachers with reference to the 2013 curriculum. This evaluation aims to understand to what extent the quality of lesson plans includes the expected competencies and to what extent these lesson plans can support an effective learning process. In addition, this study also wanted to evaluate the correlation between the contents of lesson plans and student learning outcomes, with the aim of identifying the extent to which the implementation of lesson plans based on Curriculum 13 had an impact on the level of understanding and academic achievement of students. This research uses a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Aek Songsongan with the research subject being a biology teacher. Data collected by interview technique. Data analysis techniques through data collection, data reduction, data display, and data conclusions. The results showed that the lesson plans based on the 2013 Curriculum have a significant correlation with student learning outcomes in Biology subject so that an organized and structured lesson plan helps enable more focused and efficient learning and encourages the use of innovative and participatory learning methods that involve students more actively.
