Abstract

An- Nur/ 24 ayat 31.

Abstract

This study examines technology based teaching methods for Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MAN 4 Sleman from the perspective of Ki Hajar Dewantara's teaching methods. This study uses a qualitative approach based on a systematic literature review and collects data from various historical literature, classical Islamic education, and current academic sources. The results of the study indicate that the transformation of SKI learning in the digital era not only highlights technological advances but also emphasizes the importance of character building and moral values among students. Although digital media such as LMS, interactive videos, and infographics have been used, the aforementioned approach remains informative and lacks context and reflection. Ki Hajar Dewantara's educational philosophy, encompassing the trilogy of education “Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo,” “Ing Madyo Mangun Karso,” and “Tut Wuri Handayani,” is crucial in developing an SKI learning model that is not only cognitively robust but also socially effective and resilient.

Abstract

In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), the existence of universities as institutions of higher education has become a pressing question, especially regarding their role in shaping students' character, morals, and critical thinking within the context of Islamic education. This article analyzes the relevance of universities amid the advancement of AI, drawing on Fathul Wahid's arguments regarding the preservation of academic functions and religious values. The methods used are a literature review and a conceptual analysis of Wahid's works, with a focus on how universities can serve as forums for integrating science, ethics, and spiritual values in Islamic higher education. The findings show that, even though AI offers easy access to information and supports innovation in the learning process, universities still play an irreplaceable strategic role, namely shaping character, critical thinking, and a comprehensive understanding of religious values. The conclusion of this article emphasizes that universities remain relevant in the AI era, and their. The main contribution is to emphasize the importance of integrating knowledge and religious values as the foundation of Islamic higher education, thereby producing a generation that is intelligent, moral, and adaptable to technological developments.

Abstract

This study examines how Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah) in Indonesia manage educational quality by systematically integrating academic achievement and character formation through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle within Total Quality Management (TQM) frameworks. Unlike previous research treating character education as supplementary, this study positions it as strategic management. Using a qualitative multiple-case study design, data were collected from three State Islamic Senior High Schools through interviews, observations, focus groups, and document analysis. The study investigated PDCA implementation in each school and patterns across institutional contexts. Findings reveal three management models: (1) structural-regulative (MAN X), emphasizing discipline through strict SOPs; (2) community-collaborative (MAN Y), integrating pesantren culture and parental involvement; and (3) innovation-capacity oriented (MAN Z), cultivating literacy and 21st-century skills. Cross-case analysis shows all schools applied PDCA principles—strategic planning (Plan), consistent implementation (Do), integrated evaluation (Check), and improvement (Act). Educational quality in faith-based schools is enhanced when academic and character dimensions are embedded throughout the management cycle. This research demonstrates how TQM-PDCA frameworks can be contextualized for faith-based schools in developing countries and identifies critical gaps in quality systems that require strengthening.

Abstract

Teacher competence plays a significant role in improving the quality of learning in primary education institutions, including Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. However, many teachers still face challenges in designing effective learning, implementing innovative teaching strategies, and conducting meaningful learning evaluations. This community service program aims to assist teachers in developing pedagogical competencies to improve the quality of learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The program employed a mentoring-based approach consisting of training, classroom mentoring, and reflective evaluation. The participants were teachers at a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah who were actively involved in the learning process. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of mentoring activities. The results indicate that the mentoring program improved teachers’ ability to design lesson plans, implement active learning strategies, and conduct learning assessments. In addition, the mentoring process increased teachers’ professional confidence and fostered collaborative learning. This program demonstrates that mentoring-based professional development can become an effective strategy for strengthening teacher competence and improving learning quality in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
