Abstract

The demand for pakcoy continues to increase as more people must be aware of their nutritional needs. One important factor in pakcoy cultivation is the use of planting media. The main objective was to find out the best media combination and frequency to apply fertilizers for efficiency in intensive growing. The research was conducted in Cikabayan, IPB Bogor using RAL Factorial with six treatment combination and three replications. The first factor was media combination (rice husk, cocopeat, and compost), while the second factor was fertilization frequency (every week and every two weeks). Parameters observation consists of vegetative growth (plant height, number of leaves wide and length of leaves, and width of the stump) and plant production (wet weight and weight suitable for consumption). Research results indicated that planting media combination of rice husk and compost (1:1) gave a better result than other treatments in increasing leaf length (11.36 cm) and wet weight (47.12 grams). The frequency of application of foliar fertilizer had no different effect on pakcoy growth and yield and no interaction significantly between media combination and fertilization frequency.

Abstract

The development of cavendish banana cultivation has higher potential compared to other types of bananas. This is because Cavendish bananas have a higher market selling value, especially as they are a type of banana that sells well on the international market. One of the villages that has the potential to develop cavendish banana tree cultivation is Sukadana Village. This village is one of the buffer villages for the Mandalika Special Economic Zone which is expected to provide basic agricultural needs in the Mandalika area. Service activities will be carried out in December 2022 until may 2023 with the target farmer group Patuh Bersama. This service activity aims to increase community income through assistance in the cultivation of Cavendish bananas. The results of the service activities carried out are providing insight to the community that cavedish bananas are a type of banana that is commonly consumed by the international community. Apart from that, the community can also develop the cultivation of cavendish bananas not only in their yards, but can also cultivate them on unused agricultural land

Abstract

ABSTRACTSegala Anyar Village is located in Pujut Subdistrict and serves as one of the supporting villages within the Mandalika Special Economic Zone. Most of its residents work in the agriculture and livestock sectors. Livestock pens, particularly those for cattle, are not yet properly managed, leading to piles of manure waste that pose a potential threat to the environment and public health. The Community Service Team from the Faculty of Agriculture at Unram aims to educate partner groups ekspecifically the Women Farmers’ Group and community groups in Segala Anyar on converting cattle manure into compost. The partners for this initiative consist of 25 individuals from the Climate-Aware Community Group and the Women Farmers’ Group. This community service project consists of three stages: the initial stage involves a field survey to identify the potential and conditions of the barns; the second stage involves outreach and training on the production of cattle manure fertilizer; and the final stage involves the application of the manure fertilizer as a growing medium in microfarming practices in the village of Segala Anyar. The success of the activity is measured by the successful production of cattle manure fertilizer ready for use in microfarming activities. Keywords: Integrated Farming; Cow Manure; Segala Anyar.
