Abstract

This writing aims to determine social interaction in performance of Ronggeng Nak Mudo Pinang Sarumpun at Nagari Simpang Mudiak community, Pasaman Regency. This Ronggeng performance is shown between the Ronggeng performers and the audience or the audience and the dancers, who interact through communication by attracting the attention of the audience through poem with the rhymes that are sung. This study used qualitative methods with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Sudariyanto social interaction theory and Alo Liliweri communication theory. The results showed that in the Ronggeng Nak Mudo Pinang Sarumpun performance, there was social interaction between the people of Simpang Mudiak and the Ronggeng performers, and the establishment of friendly intrapersonal communication through poem rhymes as message deliverer and message recipients by dancers and audiens in the Ronggeng Nak Mudo Pinang Sarumpun performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the psychological dynamics of students of the Dance Arts Department of ISI Padangpanjang in determining the form of their final assignment between dance creation and dance study. The study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of 14 active students from the 2022-2024 intake and two supporting informants. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, identification of important statements, grouping themes, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students experienced various psychological dynamics such as confusion, doubt, inner conflict between interests and abilities, anxiety, and dilemmas in determining the choice of their final assignment. Factors influencing these conditions include motivation, academic experience, psychological condition, social environment, and financial factors. Support from lecturers, friends, and seniors had both positive and negative influences on the decision-making process. This study concluded that determining the form of the final assignment is not only an academic decision, but also a psychological process influenced by internal and external factors of the students.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan generasi muda Jorong Sungai Jambu dalam bidang seni pertunjukan, khususnya Randai dan tari tradisi Minangkabau. Pelatihan dilatarbelakangi oleh menurunnya minat serta keterampilan generasi muda terhadap seni tradisi, yang berdampak pada berkurangnya pewarisan nilai budaya lokal. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi observasi awal, identifikasi kebutuhan, pelatihan teknik gerak dan vokal, pendampingan kelompok, serta evaluasi hasil pelatihan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama satu bulan dengan peserta berjumlah 25 orang. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan terhadap pemahaman peserta mengenai struktur pertunjukan Randai, teknik galombang, langkah silek, serta dasar-dasar koreografi tari tradisi. Peserta juga mampu menampilkan satu repertoar Randai dan satu tari tradisi pada akhir program. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pelestarian seni tradisi dan membangun kembali antusiasme generasi muda terhadap identitas budaya mereka.
