Abstract

The development of the times and demands for the use of technology in student competency tests provide opportunities to continue to innovate. This study aims to find out how the application of the CBT (Computer based Test) system uses Google Forms on the Arabic language test (Ikhtibar al-Lughah al-Arabiyah al-‗Ammah) in the Language Center ILA-AL class. The type of research used is Research and Development with the ADDIE development model. The research subjects were ILA-AL class students at the Language Center of UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan. The research used descriptive analytical methods—data collection techniques using interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results showed that the Google Form-based CBT application was effectively used as a standardized Arabic language test for students. Application development is needed for digitalization at the UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan Language Center.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the low mastery of Arabic language mufradat by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students at UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. Meanwhile، mufradat is very influential on students' proficiency in Arabic because mufradat is one of the components of Arabic. PAI students are required to understand Arabic because there are many courses whose reference books use Arabic such as Qawaid Imla '، Educational Manuscript Studies، Tahsin Al-Qur'an، Arabic Calligraphy، Fiqh Muamalat، etc. This study aims to determine the effect of audio-visual media on the mastery of mufradat of PAI students. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design method. Data were taken from the results of the pre test and post test in the control and experimental classes. After the data was processed using SPSS، the data obtained were not normally distributed. Therefore، to test the hypothesis، a nonparametric test was carried out، namely the Wilcoxon test. From the results of this test، it can be obtained a significance of 0.000 which is small from 0.05 with an error level of 5%، so according to the basis for decision making in the Wilcoxon test it can be say that Ha is accepted، that is، there is a significant effect of using audio-visual media on the mastery of mufradat of PAI students.

Abstract

This study aims to map research trends in Arabic language curriculum development, based on twelve scholarly articles indexed in the Scopus database and published between 2014 and 2025. The study employs a systematic literature review approach, grounded in Arlene Fink’s framework, which comprises three main stages: literature sampling, literature screening, and data extraction. The selected articles met specific inclusion criteria relevant to the theme of Arabic curriculum development in the context of contemporary education. The data extraction process focused on four key elements of each article: authorship, research objectives, methods, and findings. Thematic analysis of these articles identified five central themes in curriculum development: the integration of environmental values, the incorporation of local wisdom, the integration of spiritual aspects, the enhancement of creativity through curriculum design, and the urgency of formulating a more adaptive and contextual national curriculum standard. These thematic findings are further analyzed through the lens of William Pinar’s reconceptualist curriculum theory, which views curriculum not merely as a technical instructional tool, but as a subjective, reflective, and cultural process (currere). The study reveals that the Arabic language curriculum in Indonesia remains normative and is not yet fully responsive to local and global dynamics. Accordingly, this research recommends the development of a more collaborative, contextual, and holistically oriented Arabic language curriculum. It is expected that this study will serve as a significant reference for policymakers and curriculum developers in designing an Arabic curriculum that is relevant, responsive, and transformative.
