Abstract

Survival based on the values of “Toto Kromo” is a strategy that is not least performed by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to survive and exist in the digital era. However, this strategy has not been comprehensively discussed in previous studies. This study also focuses on the question “How is the survival strategy based on the values of “Toto Kromo” applied by conventional SMEs to survive amid the massive online-based buying and selling activities in the digital era?” In order to answer this question, this study uses a descriptive qualitative approach in exploring communication, service, and economic transaction strategies carried out by conventional MSMEs in the digital era. This study highlights three important strategies carried out by conventional MSMEs based on “Toto Kromo” values to survive and exist in the digital era. First, the communication is more persuasive, relational, and interactive with buyers. Second, the services are more solutive, active, and supportive with buyers. Third, transactions are more negotiative, accommodating, and effective with buyers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of funding and financing activities—specifically Mudharabah Savings, Mudharabah Deposits, and buying and selling transactions on the Falah Profit of Sharia Rural Banks (BPRS) in West Sumatra over the period from 2015 to 2023. Employing a descriptive quantitative methodology with panel data regression analysis, secondary data were collected from the official financial reports published on the OJK website, involving a purposive sample of 38 banks. The analysis reveals that both Mudharabah Savings and Mudharabah Deposits have a positive and statistically significant influence on Falah Profit, with regression coefficients indicating that an increase in these funding sources is associated with higher profitability. Conversely, buying and selling activities exhibit a positive but statistically insignificant effect on Falah Profit, suggesting a less direct impact in this context. The combined impact of these variables explains approximately 82.68% of the variation in Falah Profit, illustrating their substantial role in shaping bank performance. These findings imply that strategic enhancement of Mudharabah-based funding mechanisms can effectively boost profitability, contributing to the stability and growth of Sharia banking institutions in the region. The study thus emphasizes the importance of Islamic financial products and funding schemes in driving sustainable bank performance aligned with Sharia principles

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential and development strategies of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) in Kanie Village, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. Although the village has established a BUMDes unit focusing on office supplies, its management has not been optimal and does not yet reflect the village’s full potential. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model and assisted by NVivo 12 Plus software. The findings reveal six major potentials in Kanie Village: natural resources, human resources, economic potential, socio-cultural aspects, institutional capacity, and geography. However, most of these potentials have not been fully utilized by BUMDes. The recommended development strategies include community empowerment, increased transparency, provision of capital and infrastructure, optimization of local resources, and collaboration with third parties. This study highlights the importance of a comprehensive, locallybased approach to ensure that BUMDes can develop sustainably and contribute significantly to improving the welfare of rural communities.

Abstract

Purpose:Understanding the factors that influence financial well-being is important for promoting financial sustainability, especially amid economic uncertainty that requires effective and planned management. Such financial management requires adequate Islamic financial literacy, positive financial attitudes, and appropriate financial behavior.Design/Methodology:This study investigates the mediating role of financial behavior in the relationship between Islamic financial literacy, financial attitudes, and financial well-being. Using a quantitative design, data were collected from 100 civil servant teachers in Agam Regency, Indonesia, through a structured questionnaire. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula and selected through simple random sampling. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling PLS-SEM 4 was used for data analysis.Findings:The findings show that Islamic financial literacy does not directly affect financial well-being but indirectly through financial behavior. Financial attitudes have a significant direct influence on financial well-being, while their indirect influence through financial behavior is not supported. These results underscore the important role of financial behavior as a mechanism linking financial knowledge to better financial outcomes.Practical Implications:This study offers meaningful implications for financial education programs and policy interventions focused on developing long-term financial resilience.Originality/Value:This study offers a novel perspective on understanding financial well-being by positioning Islamic financial literacy as a foundational approach. It not only addresses the limitations of previous research that primarily focused on conventional financial literacy, but also provides a more contextually relevant understanding for communities that manage their finances based on Sharia principles.
