Abstract

Abstract

The existence of a village profile is vital, because it provides a comprehensive picture of the character of the village which includes basic family data, the potential of natural resources (SDA) and human resources (HR), institutions, facilities and infrastructure, as well as the development of progress and problems faced by the village. The Patikalain Village profile updating program carried out by the service team was carried out to provide comprehensive and accurate data to support more effective planning and implementation of development programs, understand community needs, and increase the participation and welfare of village communities. The parties involved in the process of updating the village profile include the village government, and the village community itself who play a role in data collection and information validation. In carrying out this village profile updating program, the service team applies the live-in method, meaning that the service team lives permanently at the location of program implementation from July to September 2024 in Patikalain Village, Hantakan District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. The activities carried out to support the Patikalin Village profile updating program include: 1) Recruitment of village youth as prospective pioneers; 2) Training of prospective pioneers to become drivers of village development; 3) Designing data requirements instruments; 4) Participatory household census; 5) Data analysis and compilation; 6) Compilation of village profile documents. A more structured and accurate profile of Patikalain Village, covering various important aspects that were previously not well-documented, can be a strong foothold for more targeted, effective, and sustainable development planning, and can improve the overall welfare of the village community.

Abstract

The wage system is the process of managing everything related to the payment of employees and the reporting of wage taxes. The wage system is essential in order to help the wage process better. The purpose of this research is to know the System and Procedures of Payment and the documents used, then to find out any obstacles that occur in the system of pay, as well as to know whether the calculation of PPh 21 at the University of X is accurate or not with the Regulations of the Taxation Legislation in force today. The results of this survey show that the remuneration system at X University already uses the Fingerprint Engine, the GPP Application, and the Payroll System. The system is already able to help the work of certain departments/divisions to avoid difficulties in making payrolls, calculating wages, reporting wages and preparing tax deductions. The system used is very accurate, and good. The remuneration procedures at the University X have been run by their respective divisions to avoid manipulation and fraud. As for the documents that make up the salary, they are complete and detailed. Then the remuneration procedures at the University X have been implemented in accordance with its functions, the functions consist of the function of staffing, function of payroll maker, accounting and financial functions. And there are barriers that the University of X is experiencing, however, that can be controlled. As well as PPh21 calculations, the result of the calculations is NIHIL due to net income a year below the PTKP income. The results of the evaluation in this study show that in the fingerprint system there are only those who do not do absences but the employees still want their salary to remain full. However, the SDM or Finance department at the University of X must be aware of that. Nevertheless, the employee won't get his rights because of his own mistakes. The University of X must provide even more rigorous supervision so that this will not happen again in the future.   Keywords: pay system, ASN, pay document, PPh 21

Abstract

The village of Patikalain, Hantakan Subdistrict, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, has great potential for coffee commodity development, particularly robusta coffee, thanks to its favorable geographical and climatic conditions. However, the village community still faces various challenges, such as limited infrastructure, access to modern agricultural technology, and a lack of knowledge regarding post-harvest processing techniques. This community service program aims to maximize the potential of coffee as a flagship commodity through community empowerment using a live-in approach, conducted from July 23 to September 4, 2024. The community service team resides in the village to gain a deep understanding of the social and economic conditions of the community. The solutions implemented include coffee cultivation training, post-harvest processing, and the formation of active coffee farmer groups, as well as establishing partnerships with buyers to expand market access. Achievements include improved community understanding of coffee cultivation, increased production, and higher farmer incomes. However, inadequate infrastructure and limited access to technology remain challenges for further development. Developing coffee as a commodity in Patikalain Village requires a comprehensive approach with government and institutional interventions, such as regular training, technology access, and improvements to distribution and marketing channels for farm products. This study explores the potential of coffee in Patikalain Village, analyzes the challenges faced, and identifies optimal strategies for developing coffee as a flagship commodity. It is hoped that the results of this study will serve as a foundation for further collaboration between the government, institutions, and farmers to maximize the potential of coffee as a sustainable source of livelihood for the village community.

Abstract

This study examines the problems encountered by EFL students in composing qualitative research proposals and explores the tactics employed to address these problems. The study included three individuals who were enrolled as students in the English Education Department and had experienced delays in submitting their qualitative research proposals. The data were obtained via semi-structured interviews, wherein the researcher utilized mobile phones to record the participants' responses. The research employed a descriptive case study methodology and applied thematic analysis for data analysis. The findings of this study revealed a number of challenges encountered by students. These challenges encompassed deficiencies in various writing components, such as content-related problems, syntactic issues, vocabulary limitations, and challenges in sourcing references. Additionally, students faced internal obstacles, specifically a lack of motivation stemming from laziness. Lastly, technical difficulties were encountered when undertaking qualitative research proposals. In order to address these challenges, several potential solutions have been identified. One such solution involves fostering a supportive environment among peers, wherein they provide encouragement and assistance in the process of writing proposals. Additionally, it has been suggested that students may benefit from engaging in activities that restore their motivation and enthusiasm for research, such as watching educational content on platforms like YouTube. Lastly, self-evaluation has been proposed as a means of assessing their progress and identifying areas for improvement. Keywords: Qualitative Research, EFL, Challenges and Solutions
