Abstract

Asthma is a respiratory disease affecting 339 million people worldwide, which can be treated through various methods, including eucalyptus oil vapor, a non-pharmacological therapy. A literature review examining the effectiveness of eucalyptus oil vapor in reducing breathlessness among asthma patients, conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar databases, analyzed six articles from a pool of 280. Research findings revealed that eucalyptol (cineole) content possesses mucolytic and bronchodilatory properties, and vapor benefits include expanding respiratory passages, thereby facilitating breathing. Consequently, eucalyptus oil vapor emerges as an efficient self-management method for asthma patients, presenting no known side effects

Abstract

Happy and healthy gymnastics is a physical activity designed to enhance preschool children's gross motor skills through enjoyable and educational movements. This study was conducted at TK Wadifatimah Kota Cirebon to analyze the effectiveness of the program in improving movement coordination, balance, and rhythm-following skills in children aged 4-6 years. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) with an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, involving teachers, parents, and children in all stages of the program, from planning and implementation to evaluation. The program was implemented over 12 weeks with a sequence of warm-up, core, and cool-down movements. The results showed a significant improvement in children's gross motor skills. Movement coordination increased by 32.9%, balance by 28.5%, and rhythm-following skills by 33.8%. Additionally, the program encouraged greater participation in physical activities at home and created an enjoyable learning experience. Program evaluation indicated that active teacher involvement and the use of music as movement stimulation played a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of gymnastics. The study concludes that happy and healthy gymnastics can be an effective method for developing preschool children's gross motor skills. For optimization and sustainability, it is recommended that this activity be integrated into the school curriculum, with a wider variety of movements and more intensive parental involvement.

Abstract

Auditory hallucinations are one of the main symptoms experienced by patients with schizophrenia. Non-pharmacological interventions, such as spiritual therapy, serve as important alternatives to support treatment. One increasingly used method is the recitation of Qur’anic verses (murottal therapy), which provides psychological and spiritual calming effects.  To determine the impact of murottal audio therapy of Surah Ar-Rahman on the intensity of auditory hallucinations in patients with schizophrenia at Gramesia Nursing Home, Cirebon.  This scientific paper is presented in the form of a nursing care report focusing on the application of murottal audio therapy using Surah Ar-Rahman as an intervention.  Before the therapy, the patient experienced moderate auditory hallucinations, accompanied by intense emotional reactions and difficulty controlling behavior. After undergoing murottal audio therapy, there was a decrease in hallucination intensity and improvement in the patient’s emotional condition. Murottal audio therapy of Surah Ar-Rahman is effective as a non-pharmacological approach to reduce auditory hallucinations and support psychological recovery in patients with schizophrenia. Following the intervention, patients reported a significant decrease in the intensity of their hallucinations. Emotional reactions were notably less intense, and patients displayed improved emotional regulation and greater behavioral control. The results suggest that murottal audio therapy using Surah Ar-Rahman is an effective non-pharmacological intervention that not only reduces the intensity of auditory hallucinations but also plays a supportive role in the psychological recovery of patients with schizophrenia. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating spiritual therapies into comprehensive treatment plans, as they offer a holistic approach to managing schizophrenia. This intervention can complement traditional pharmacological treatments, providing patients with a sense of spiritual calm and emotional stability, which can enhance their overall mental health and well-being.
