The method used in this research is research and development with five selected literary writers who are productive in producing poetry texts. Next, in testing the developed teaching material, students from SMA Negeri 1 Manonjaya Tasikmalaya were chosen. Teaching material developed based on the poet's creative process in producing literary works of poetry text is combined with the composition of basic competencies based on the curriculum with scientific presentation. Teaching material which is evaluated based on content, presentation, language, and graphic criteria by academics and practitioners meets the eligibility criteria as teaching material in high school. Based on the testing of the application of teaching materials, it was found that the teaching materials were able to encourage students to produce quality poetry texts. Indonesian Language learning also takes place effectively in achieving goals.DOI: 10.24071/ijiet.2020.040113

Abstract

Learning to write opinion texts is very required in the Vocational Curriculum However, students still have many difficulties in writing opinion texts. This research aims to overcome the problem of writing opinion texts in vocational schools through a Project Based Learning model assisted by audio-visual media. The object of the research was carried out at SMK Budi Tresna Muhamadiyah Cirebon grade XII. The research method, through experiments, tests the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning model in improving students' ability to write opinion article texts. The research instrument is in the form of a test to collect data on students' ability to write opinion article texts with the help of audio-visual media. The test data is in the form of text of opinion articles written by students both through prates and post-tests. The results showed that learning in the experimental class using the Project Based Learning model got a score of 1790 with an average score of 89.5 higher than the control class using the contextual model got a score of 1340 with an average score of 67. In addition, the results of significant tests that have been carried out by the experimental class (KE) > the control class (KK), H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, then the VAK Project Based Learning model is declared effective. Based on the calculation of the significance test results, a calculation of 3,515 was obtained at a significant level of 5% and a table of 1,687. This shows that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, applying the Project Based Learning model to write opinion article texts for grade XII students of SMK Budi Tresna Muhammadiyah Cirebon for the 2024/2025 school year is effective.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of aesthetic and ethical elements in Islamic children's stories as part of children's literature that promotes Islamic religious values. Islamic children's stories serve not only as a medium of entertainment but also as a means of instilling character and spirituality from an early age. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with content analysis of selected stories texts, namely 9 out of 30 Dongeng Sebelum Tidur untuk Anak Muslim (Bedtime Stories for Muslim Children) by Kidh Hidayat and MB. Rahimsyah. The analysis focuses on aesthetic aspects such as narrative structure and style of language as well as Islamic ethical aspects such as moral values of honesty, empathy, and responsibility. The results of the study indicate that the stories present an aesthetically pleasing narrative with communicative language, effectively capturing children's attention while facilitating understanding of the moral messages. Islamic ethical values are implicitly embedded in the plot and characters, making them an effective medium for character education. This study recommends the utilization of Islamic stories as religious literacy materials to support values-based learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The diversity of learning styles among students in regular elementary school classrooms encourages teachers to use flexible teaching methods, especially for students with learning difficulties. This study aims to understand teachers' perspectives, the problems they face, and how they implement different learning approaches for students with learning difficulties in public elementary schools. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a multiple case study design. The research was conducted in three public elementary schools and involved four classroom teachers selected based on their experience in teaching students with learning difficulties. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and then analyzed using cross-case and intra-case thematic analysis. The findings show that teachers view students with learning difficulties as individuals who require more guidance and repetition of material, especially in basic reading and writing skills. Learning difficulties are not only considered an intellectual limitation but are also influenced by the environment and support from the family. Some of the main challenges in implementing differentiated learning include limited learning time, large class sizes, and low parental participation. To overcome this, teachers differentiate in terms of content, methods, and learning outcomes by simplifying material, using varied media and methods, providing individual or small group support, and adjusting tasks and expectations. This study emphasizes that differentiated learning is implemented in a flexible and context-appropriate manner and plays an important role in supporting inclusive learning in public elementary.

Abstract

Social-emotional intelligence (SEI) refers to individuals’ ability to recognize, understand, and manage their own emotions and those of others, build healthy social relationships, and make responsible decisions. This study aims to describe the development of SEI through play activities among 2nd-grade students at SD Negeri Cicurug 3 Majalengka using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentation. Observation involved all second-grade students during play activities, while in-depth interviews were conducted with four students selected through purposive sampling and one classroom teacher as the key informant. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The findings indicate that (1) students demonstrated positive development in social intelligence aspects; (2) emotional intelligence showed a generally positive developmental tendency; (3) the teacher acted as an empathic facilitator in supporting SEI development; and (4) the school culture consistently supported the development of SEI. These findings suggest that play activities can serve as an effective and natural medium for fostering social-emotional intelligence in lower elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe forms of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, learning discipline patterns, and perceptions of environmental support, as well as the dominant factors that teachers consider most influential in maintaining achievement motivation in the top 1–3 students of grade V at SDN Kartini in Cirebon City. This research uses a qualitative method in the form of a case study, involving twelve high-achieving students and four grade V teachers. Data were collected through motivation questionnaires, student interviews, and teacher interviews, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña with a triangulation approach of sources and techniques. The results show that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation are always present together in all students, with varying degrees of dominance. Learning discipline was found in three variants: structured-external, active learning strategy-based, and autonomous-internal, all of which are associated with consistent achievement. Data triangulation also revealed gaps between students' self-perceptions and teachers' assessments in some cases, indicating that the process of internalizing motivation is not yet fully complete at the elementary school age. Teachers identified supportive parental involvement, family learning culture, students' personal ambitions, classroom appreciation systems, and successful experiences in competitions as the key factors that help maintain students' achievement motivation.
