Abstract

One of the demands of professional teachers is their competence in the field of classroom action research. The reality on the ground shows that the classroom action research that has been prepared has not shown the CAR that is as expected. The solution that can be done to overcome this is to conduct training on writing class action research proposals (CAR). This activity has an output target in the form of a PTK proposal framework. The target partner in this community service activity is the Indonesian language MGMP for the Middle School in Maros district. The implementation of activities with a follow-up study design will be described in the methods of lectures, questions and answers, assignments, discussions, and practice/simulation as well as evaluation. The benchmark for achieving the goal is that participants can absorb at least 80% of the material provided by the presenters (IbM implementers) in preparing PTK proposals, both theory and practice. The results of the implementation of this activity showed that the participants had been able to develop PTK proposals in accordance with the problems they faced in their schools, especially in learning Indonesian. Thus, it is no longer difficult for teachers to conduct classroom action research. The evaluation results show that this community service activity is categorized as very good (90%) in terms of the participants' activeness and motivation. Meanwhile, in terms of understanding and learning practices produced are categorized as good (80%).

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the manifestations of masculine domination in dating relationships among university students in Makassar City, considering the interaction between global hegemonic masculinity concepts and the local socio-cultural context of Bugis-Makassar, which is rich with the value of siri' (honor). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected from students aged 18-24 through semi-structured in-depth interviews and non-participant observation, followed by thematic analysis. The findings reveal four main forms of masculine domination: (1) Control and surveillance through digital media, normalized as expressions of responsibility and protection; (2) Assertion of economic dominance and decision-making, with pressure on men to be breadwinners and final decision-makers; (3) Regulation of emotion and femininity expression, where men suppress "weak" emotions while controlling their partner's emotional expressions, and women self-censor their independence to avoid threatening masculinity; and (4) Normalization of psychological violence, rationalized as a form of "discipline" for the partner's good. The novelty of the study lies in its empirical contextualization of hegemonic masculinity and cyber dating abuse within the Bugis-Makassar cultural setting, revealing how global norms adapt and are reinforced by local cultural logics such as siri'. The research also highlights the internalization of patriarchal norms by both genders, which facilitates the normalization of control and psychological violence. Implications emphasize the need for contextually relevant relationship health education and dating violence prevention programs in universities, aiming to deconstruct narratives of "control as care" and "violence as discipline." Recommendations include multi-level interventions targeting peer group norms and broader societal discourses that support hegemonic masculinity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of symbolic violence in online media short stories using Pierre Bourdieu’s theoretical perspective, particularly the concepts of habitus, capital, and field. The research employs a qualitative method with a sociological approach to literature. The data sources consist of two short stories, namely Perempuan dalam Bejana and Buaian Rahim Patriarki by Ni Wayan Wijayanti. Data were collected through reading and note-taking techniques, while data analysis was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method. The results show that symbolic violence in the short stories is manifested in the forms of forced marriage, the subordination of women, the silencing of women’s voices, and the objectification of women. This violence occurs due to the internalization of patriarchal habitus, which leads women to perceive domination as something natural. In addition, male domination is reinforced by the possession of economic and social capital, enabling control over women. The family field becomes the primary space where symbolic violence occurs, as unequal power relations are normalized within the domestic structure. Thus, online media short stories function not only as literary works but also as representations of social reality that depict gender inequality and hidden practices of domination.
