Abstract

Solo garlic has been known for its medicinal benefits because of which it is considerably expensive. Nonetheless, no Indonesian farmer produces solo garlic intentionally since no information on how to grow solo garlic in Indonesia is available.  Growers, usually harvest 5-10 kg of solo garlic from 1 hectare of garlic crop they grow. A greenhouse experiment was conducted from November 2018 to January 2019 at the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Bengkulu University, about 10 m above sea level to study the effects of paclobutrazol and organic matter on the เว็บสล็อต | R4shub growth and yield of solo garlic crop grown at low elevation of Bengkulu. The experiment used completely randomized design arranged in factorial (2 factors; 5 replications). The first factor tested was organic matter levels (0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5%) and the second factor was paclobutrazol concentrations (0, 500, 1000, 1500 ppm). Solo garlic seeds were planted in the polybag filled with 5 kg of media, a mixed of topsoil and organic matter. The crops were sprayed with paclobutrazol at 21, 35, and 49 days after planting.  The results showed that organic matter did not significantly affect crop growth and yield. In contrast, paclobutrazol significantly affected crop growth and yield, with the best yield was found at 1500 ppm paclobutrazol. Furthermore, there was no significant interaction between organic matter and paclobutrazol on the growth and yield of solo garlic grown at low elevation at tropical climate in Indonesia. Abstract

Salinity stress causing water deficit, nutrient deficiency, and ion imbalance for the crops has been reported to reduced crop growth, crop yield, and fruit quality in tomatoes. The main objective of this research were to determine the LC-50 of salinity, to evalute the response of six tomato genotypes to LC-50, and to study the effect of genotype and salinity stress on crop growth, crop yield, and fruit quality of tomatoes. The LC-50 of salinity was determinated by growing tomato seedlings at different level of saline solutions (0, 400, 500, 6000, 7000, 9000, 10000, 11000, and 12000 ppm of NaCl) and used the LC-50 of salinity to evaluate the salinity tolerance of six tomato genotypes. The results showed that the LC-50 of saline solution was 9000 ppm NaCl and genotype Empat G was found to be the most tolerant to salinity stress

Abstract

A common problem related to the production of potatoes in Indonesia is the use of poor quality seed sources and declining seeds. Plant tissue culture is one of the best methods used for the provision of quality seeds. This study aims to establish the best combination of BAP concentration and the concentration of paclobutrazol in spurring the growth of cuttings and initiation of potato tubers in vitro. This research was conducted in November 2017 until June 2018 at Agronomy Laboratory of Biotechnology Division and Plant Culture Network of Agriculture Faculty of Bengkulu University. The  research  design  used  was  Completely  Randomized  Design  (CRD)  which  consist  of  18 combination of BAP treatment and Paclobutrazol was repeated 6 times. The concentration of BAP used was 0 mg / l, 5 mg / l, 10 mg / l and the concentration of Paclobutrazol 0 mg / l; 2.5 mg / l; 5 mg / l; 7.5 mg / l; 10 mg / l; 12.5 mg / l. The data of the research were analyzed by F test of 5% level and if there were different between treatments followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) test of5% level. The results showed that the combination of BAP and  Paclobutrazol concentration had significant effect on all observed variables. Treatment of 5 mg / l BAP and 7.5 mg / l Paclobutrazol is the best medium in inducing potato micro tube as indicated by the fastest tuber formation time, highest percentage of productive crops, largest number of tubers per bottle, number of tubers per productive plant, tuber diameter the largest and highest wet weight of tuber per bottle. Keywords : in vitro, BAP, paclobutrazol, Potato
