Abstract

The dialogue and narration in the novel Kita Pergi Hari Ini by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie are interesting to study in more depth. The researcher uses case grammar based on the perspective of Charles J. Fillmore, a modified form of generative transformation theory with verbs as the central part of a sentence and has a semantic relationship in various noun phrases; this relationship is called case. The use of Charles J. Fillmore's perspective case grammar as an analysis tool for the novel Kita Pergi Hari Ini by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie aims to examine two aspects, namely modality and preposition. Researchers use descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique for this research is the reading and notetaking technique. The researcher read the Kita Pergi Hari Ini novel as primary data and Charles J. Fillmore's perspective case grammar theory as supporting data. After reading, the researcher noted essential things to display as data. The data collection technique used in this research is the Miles and Huberman Technique, which consists of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study show that four modalities were found, namely tense composed of past, present, and future; negation, mode consisting of indicative, imperative, interrogative, conditional, and subjunctive; and aspect consisting of non-progressive, as well as eight propositions which consisting of agentive, goal, experience, time, accompanying, locative, objective, and source.

Abstract

This research examines Face-Threatening Acts (FTAs) in Abu Ubaidah's speech on Al Jazeera's YouTube channel within the context of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Unlike previous studies focused on Western political discourse, this research uncovers distinct face management patterns within Arab-Islamic political communication broadcast globally. Using a qualitative approach with pragmatic discourse analysis, the research analyzes Abu Ubaidah's speech on the Gaza conflict on April 23, 2024. Data collection involved indirect observation through watching and transcribing the speech video, complemented by literature review. The analysis combines Brown and Levinson's politeness model with Miles and Huberman's data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing framework. The findings reveal Abu Ubaidah's strategic use of FTAs for delegitimizing adversaries, constructing resistance identity, and fostering solidarity, with 23 FTAs targeting positive face and 19 targeting negative face. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the interaction between FTAs and the social context as markers of cultural-religious identity in Arab political discourse during conflicts, and providing new insights into how FTAs is employed to achieve communicative and ideological goals in non-Western contexts. This research recommends further exploring communication strategies in similar conflicts through various linguistic approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an explanation of the influence of perceived usefulness, perceived risk, and trust on intention to use the Seabank digital banking application, with trust serving as a mediating variable. The research adopts an associative method with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to individuals residing in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), aged 17 and above, who are interested in using the Seabank application. The sampling technique used is Non-Probability Sampling with a Purposive Sampling approach. A total of 110 respondents were analyzed. Data processing was conducted using SmartPLS version 4.1.0.9. The analytical techniques employed include outer model testing, inner model testing, path analysis, t-tests, and mediation analysis using the bootstrapping method. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Perceived Usefulness has a significant positive direct effect on Intention to Use; (2) Perceived Risk has a significant negative direct effect on Intention to Use; (3) Trust has a significant positive direct effect on Intention to Use; (4) Perceived Usefulness has a significant positive direct effect on Trust; (5) Perceived Risk has a significant negative direct effect on Trust; (6) There is a significant indirect positive effect of Perceived Usefulness on Intention to Use through Trust; and (7) There is a significant indirect negative effect of Perceived Risk on Intention to Use through Trust

By utilizing online learning resources, the atmosphere is more interactive and not boring. However, on the one hand, SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari still has limitations in terms of access capacity to learning resources on the Internet. Support for adequate data communication network infrastructure is expected to overcome the problem of access to online resources. By developing a data communication network at SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari, it can overcome obstacles in accessing learning resources and online learning for students and teachers. However, on the other hand, the knowledge and skills of students and teachers need to be improved, so that they can utilize online resources as learning resources and learning materials. The purpose of this community service activity is to optimize the use of data communication networks at SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari by providing internet access points via a wifi network in the SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari environment. This activity also increased the competence of students and teachers in utilizing learning resources and online learning. This activity was able to increase the capacity of internet access, especially in terms of the coverage area of ??wifi network access at SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari which increased by 80%.
