Abstract

Tanjung Papuma is a beach that has become a tourist spot in Jember Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Tanjung Papuma is located in a protected forest area managed by Perhutani. This forest is still natural in which it is a habitat for various flora and fauna such as deer, partridges, to Javanese langurs. Considering the Tanjung Papuma area which is a protected forest, it is necessary to develop ecotourism-based tourism. The ecotourism development that has been carried out will be linked to attracting visiting interest for Generation Z. Generation Z was chosen as the research subject because sustainable tourism behavior is increasingly being recognized as a popular topic among young tourists. The research method used is qualitative with the type of case study research. In extracting data, it is done through observation and interview methods. Interviews were conducted directly by researchers with key informants from tourism object managers, residents, and generation Z. The results showed management of the Tanjung Papuma has carried out tourism development by paying attention to ecotourism principles. However, some aspects are not optimal and need to be improved.

Abstract

Traveling is a pleasant experience. For marketers, the media to promote tourist destinations requires honest recognition from tourists who have visited. Currently, a tourism promotion tool can be carried out using a place storytelling approach that is packaged into a travel writing book. This article is the result of qualitative research using the primary data source of interviewing travel writers and studying travel writing works. Secondary data comes from literature studies. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to implement place storytelling through travel writing? The conclusion of this study is that originality is the main key to place storytelling and travel writing books are an effective promotional tool for marketing tourist destinations.

Abstract

Concerts are a fun attraction. This industry is growing along with the arrival of world bands/musicians to In-donesia and performances by domestic musicians. If packaged well, concerts become a music tourism attrac-tion. This research was conducted qualitatively. Primary data was obtained through observation by attending concerts in Jakarta and Solo. Secondary data was obtained through a study of related literature. The conclu-sion of this research is that Indonesia can become a music tourism destination by holding international standard concerts on a regular basis.

Abstract

Great Bandung is a popular tourism destination, offering a variety of attractions that follow Islamic prin-ciples. These attractions cater to diverse emotional experiences, which vary significantly among tourists of different age groups. Research on emotional experiences of tourists based on age in the context of halal tourism is still rare. Therefore, this study aimed to determine “priority level" and "dominance in religion” as well as consider using "top priority" and "the importance of religious influence on tourist emotional experiences based on age group, namely Baby Boomer, Generation X, Y (Millennials), and Z, in halal tour-ism. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used as the data analysis method and AHP questionnaire sam-ple consisted of 100 tourists. The result showed that spiritual assurance was top priority for Baby Boomer, while religious dominance was the least significant. Furthermore, the highest priority level for Generation X tourists was religious acceptance, and the least important was religious dominance. For Generation Y tourists, the most important factor was joy and the least is spiritual assurance.

Abstract

Ecotourism village development uses social entrepreneurship approach. The village has water springs, rivers, conserved forest and its own biodiversity. The involvement of the community to increase the welfare of the community, to grow the sense of belonging and to grow the sense of responsibility to the existence and sustainability of the living environment are important parts of the development of social entrepreneurship. The aim of the research is to describe the implementation of social entrepreneurship in the development of Ecotourism Village. The research is done using qualitative method, by describing the implementation of the science, technology, and art program to Ecotourism Village within the framework of social entrepreneurship. The primary data source is acquired by observation, interview, and focus group discussion. The secondary data source is acquired from relevant references.

Abstract

Traveling not only creates fun for tourists. Tourism activities are believed to also improving human resources ability. It is a significant aspect related to human resource capacity that soft skills ownership which can be trained to modern travellers through ecotourism activities. This descriptive qualitative study describes soft skills trained to tourists from among younger generation in ecotourism destinations. Statement of the problem in this research is what is the relevance between ecotourism and soft skill ownership? This study identifies soft skills trained in ecotourism activities that are interpersonal skills characterized by communication skills, like others, have empathy and concern, warm, forgiving, open, adaptive and self-control abilities. The interpersonal skills that are part of this soft skill are believed to be important and will help younger generation to succeed in living their lives.

Abstract

Catholics in Indonesia have a long tradition of making pilgrimages to the Gua Maria (Maria Caves), complementing visits to cathedrals and other religious sites. This study focuses on Marian tourism at the Gua Maria in Java and Bali, highlighting their inclusivity as destinations open to both Catholic and non-Catholic visitors, fostering peace and mutual respect. The research explores the spiritual and communal experiences of pilgrims, investigating the interplay between religious practices and tourist behaviour in a multicultural context. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through literature reviews, interviews, and observations. Findings reveal that pilgrimages to the Gua Maria provide a profound sense of brotherhood and exemplify genuine tolerance. These sites' openness contributes to national harmony, while the application of Sapta Pesona Wisata (the Seven Charms of Tourism) enhances visitor experiences by emphasising security, comfort, and serenity. This study contributes to religious tourism literature by demonstrating how Sapta Pesona Wisata can improve the quality of Marian pilgrimage tourism, fostering intercultural dialogue and religious tolerance. It underscores the Gua Maria's role in promoting peace, inclusivity, and social cohesion within Indonesia’s pluralistic society.

Abstract

The development of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (BTSNP) can be done by looking at the tourism experience of Generation Z. The subject of this research is Generation Z (Gen Z). The main problem in this investigate is how the involvement of Gen Z traveling in BTSNP. This study points to describe the experience of Gen Z tourists in BTSNP. This investigate was conducted employing a subjective approach with information collection strategies, specifically interviews and writing. The conclusion of this study is BTSNP has succeeded in fulfilling tourist experience and tourist satisfaction for Gen Z tourists. Abstract

Alternative tourism and ecotourism find their relevance in changing travel patterns in the next normal era. Both enable tourism trips that have a positive impact on the growth of the quality of life of tourists and hosts, as well as the quality of the environment and cultural conservation that are the destinations of travel. Ecotourism is a way for alternative tourism to be increasingly recognized and become the answer, when tourist travel turns to a small scale, considering the capacity of tourist destinations and the welfare of local communities. This article is based on qualitative data obtained through interviews and indepth observations related to the implementation of alternative tourism managed by local communities as well as Forest Conservation Groups in ecotourism destinations in Mendiro Hamlet, Panglungan Village, Wonosalam District, Jombang Regency, East Java Province. Wonosalam is not only known for its durian commodities but has many springs, conservation forests, and Biodiversity Parks. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of alternative tourism in Wonosalam. This study concludes that the concept of alternative tourism finds its relevance to ecotourism practices in Wonosalam through observation of springs, jungle tracking, river crossings, birdwatching which is done on a small scale, and the attraction of tourist villages located on the border of conservation forests.
