Abstract

The development of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia has become a significant concern in recent years, with rapid growth in the number of banks operating based on Sharia principles. To face emerging challenges and opportunities, a deep understanding of the long-term financial behavior of Islamic banks is becoming increasingly important. This study aims to predict the share price of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk, over 28 days using the LSTM-GRU stack. The observation stage includes importing the dataset, data separation, model variations, the training process, output, and evaluation. Observations were conducted using 10 model variations from 4 stacks of LSTM and GRU. Each model performs the training process in four epochs (200, 500, 750, and 1000). The results of observations in this study show that long-term predictions (28 days ahead) using four stacks of LSTM-GRU and daily training accumulation techniques produce better accuracy than the general method (using multiple outputs). From the observations we have made for predictions for the next 28 days, the model with the LGLG stack arrangement (LSTM-GRU-LSTM-GRU) produces the best accuracy at epoch 750 with an MSE LSTM-GRU 63.43762863. This study will undoubtedly continue in order to achieve even better precision, either by utilizing a new design or by further improving the technology we are now employing.

Abstract

The potential for cash waqf in Banten reaches IDR 55 billion per month or IDR 667.2 billion per year, but the realization is still far from expectations. One of the factors is related to the low literacy of the community, especially generation Y and Z about waqf. In a survey conducted by the Indonesian Waqf Board, the waqf literacy index score of Banten province in 2020 was 45.47 and the Waqf Basic Understanding Index Score was 50.88, this figure is in the low category. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the intention of Banten young people to donate through digital platforms, by adopting the concept of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) which consists of subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, behavioral attitudes plus reliability and their influence on the intention to donate. This study uses an associative quantitative approach, the analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS application tool to test seven hypotheses of the relationship between variables in the model. Respondents, as many as 124 people were selected through a purposive sampling technique to get Muslim respondents interested in waqf through digital platforms. The results showed that subjective norms do not have a positive effect on behavioral intentions, perceived behavioral control has a positive and significant effect on behavior intention, religiosity has a significant positive effect on behavioral intention, attitude has a significant positive effect on behavioral intention. This study implies the need to improve their understanding through more intensive education and counseling, and the use of digital platforms that can facilitate access, transparency, and trust, developing and promoting digital platforms that are easily accessible, user-friendly, and secure. a more personalized approach in waqf campaigns, which emphasizes the religious aspects and direct benefits of waqf itself, to encourage waqf intentions. Abstract

Aisyah (52 years old) works as a non-permanent domestic worker (PRT) earning a wage of IDR 500,000 per month. To meet the economic needs of her family with a husband who has been ill for years and is senile, two children, three grandchildren under the age of 10, and one unemployed son-in-law, Aisyah also has to work as an itinerant domestic worker in many of her neighbours' homes. However, with an average income of no more than IDR 1,000,000 per month, it is still not enough to fulfil her family's needs. Aisyah is the most underprivileged family, as a woman who is the backbone of the family found in the Legoso neighbourhood, East Ciputat, South Tangerang based on the results of observations and village maps with the community with 30 indicators of ‘Theology of Al-Maun with Women's Perspective/Feminism (TABP/F)’ which has been developed since 2017 on the campus of the Ahmad Dahlan Institute of Technology and Business Jakarta (ITB-AD). This community service was carried out using the TABP/F methodology, raising funds by selling, which was carried out by group five, semester five, accounting study programme ITB-AD Jakarta for one semester. As a result, the funds collected were used to open selling a seblak and fried food stall as Aisyiyah's effort to increase economic income located in front of her house. Aisyiyah also received training in business management such as calculating capital, production or selling costs, prices, and income. After the business was open for one month and accompanied by the sales process, there was a significant increase in Aisyiyah's monthly income reaching IDR 800,000. Aisyah was also taught how to calculate zakat if her business had progressed. The challenges: the sustainability of Aisyah's business without assistance, as well as the high habit of borrowing from neighbours when buying snacks.

Abstract

This study evaluates the performance of equity portfolios within the Bisnis-27 Index by economic sector through a Shariah-compliant framework using the Sharpe Ratio. Monthly historical price data for four constituent stocks CPIN (Primary Consumer Goods), KLBF (Healthcare), TLKM (Infrastructure/Telecommunications), and UNTR (Non-Primary Consumer Goods) from January 2021 to December 2025 were sourced from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and Retail Sukuk yields served as the risk-free proxy. Descriptive analysis revealed differing average returns and volatilities across the stocks. Sharpe Ratio calculations ranked UNTR (0.828) and TLKM (0.794) highest, while CPIN (0.784) and KLBF (0.778) ranked lower. Sensitivity tests using Sukuk SR017 (5.90%) and SR018 (6.40%) benchmarks confirmed ranking stability. Bootstrap analysis produced 95% confidence intervals showing overlap between UNTR and TLKM Sharpe estimates, underscoring statistical uncertainty and indicating that their risk-adjusted performances are not significantly distinguishable. Advanced risk analyses including Value at Risk, Conditional Value at Risk, Sortino Ratio, Maximum Drawdown, Calmar Ratio, and EVT POT constructed a multidimensional risk profile, identifying TLKM as the most defensive sector and UNTR as the asset with the highest return potential and greatest tail risk. The discussion addresses post-pandemic macroeconomic implications and the pragmatic application of DSN-MUI Shariah screening criteria (debt ratio ≤ 45%, non-Halal income ≤ 10%) under Fiqh al-Waqīʿ. Strategic recommendations include overweight allocations to the non-primary consumer goods and telecommunications sectors as portfolio cores, cross-sector diversification to mitigate idiosyncratic risk, and dynamic portfolio management with periodic rebalancing. These findings offer practical guidance for Shariah-compliant investors, regulators, and scholars seeking to optimize sectoral investment decisions in Indonesia’s capital market.

Abstract

This paper investigates the mechanisms of Islamic markets as conceptualized within Islamic economic theory, highlighting the fundamental principles that set them apart from conventional market systems. It emphasizes the importance of ethical conduct, justice, and transparency, which are core tenets of Islamic teachings. Key principles such as mutual consent (Ar-Ridha), fairness in transactions, and the prohibition of exploitative practices like usury (riba) and hoarding (ikhtikar) are explored to illustrate how they influence market dynamics. The study further analyzes the role of supply and demand in determining prices within Islamic markets, demonstrating how these principles contribute to establishing a fair and equitable trading environment. Additionally, the contributions of notable Islamic scholars, including Al-Ghazali and Ibn Khaldun, are examined to provide a historical perspective on the evolution of these concepts. The paper also addresses contemporary challenges in applying Islamic market mechanisms in today’s global economy, such as unethical business practices and market distortions that contradict Islamic values. By offering insights into the integration of Islamic principles into modern economic practices, this research aims to foster a more just and equitable economic landscape that aligns with the ethical foundations of Islam.

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of the utilization and distribution of zakat across five key programs of BAZNAS Batam City: Batam Makmur, Batam Cerdas, Batam Sehat, Batam Taqwa, and Batam Peduli. The study employs several analytical tools, including the Allocation to Collection Ratio (ACR), Fishbone Diagram, and the CIBEST Model. Findings reveal that the Batam Makmur program has the lowest distribution rate at 7% when compared to the other programs. Based on ACR analysis, BAZNAS Batam City falls within the effective category, although the distribution of productive zakat remains suboptimal. The Fishbone Diagram highlights critical challenges, particularly related to human resources and the educational level of mustahik. Furthermore, the CIBEST Model indicates that zakat distribution contributes positively to the material and spiritual well-being of mustahik. The study suggests enhancing mustahik education and adopting digital zakat distribution systems as key strategic improvements.
