Abstract

This study aimed to determine students' attitudes toward reading electronic books at school. The population of this study was students at SMA Istiqamah Muhammadiyah Samarinda in academic 2022/2023 with a total population of 132 students. The sample of this study was made up of 11th-grade students using the purposive sampling technique; 21 students were selected as the sample of this study. The descriptive-quantitative approach is used in this study, with students accessing an English e-book website. The instrument employed in this study was a questionnaire to determine the attitudes acquired. The data in this study was analyzed using quantitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that students’ attitudes toward reading e-books were positive.

Abstract

Program latihan pencak silat merupakan bentuk upaya dalam peningkatan dan pencapaian prestasi. Tidak sedikit ancaman baik dari segi kondisi fisik hingga kondisi teknis lainnya. Risiko cedera yang selalu menjadi hal yang sangat menakutkan bagi atlet adalah hal yang bisa diminimalisir. Peran kinesio taping menjadi alternatif yang efektif dan perlu untuk menjadi bagian yang harus dipertimbangkan. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini merupakan bentuk kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan bagi atlet dalam penerapan kinesio taping. Sosialisasi dilaksanakan pada cabang olahraga pencak silat di Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada atlet yang dipersiapkan untuk menghadapi pertandingan atau dalam kata lain yang aktif mengikuti program latihan di setiap harinya. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yatu mampu memberikan tambahan pengetahuan bagi atlet dan secara langsung atlet bisa mendemonstrasikan beberapa pemasangan di bagian tubuh atlet. rekomendasi dari kegiatan ini yaitu diharapkan kinesio taping menjadi bagian yang harus diperhatikan untuk menunjang kegiatan baik atlet saat latihan dan bertanding.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPelatihan dan pendampingan E-Voting Pemilihan Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur adalah langkah penting untuk memastikan keberhasilan penggunaan teknologi dalam pemilihan. Namun, pelaksanaannya menghadapi kendala seperti infrastruktur teknologi yang kurang memadai dan kurangnya kesadaran dan motivasi untuk belajar dan menggunakan teknologi tersebut. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi efektif untuk mengatasi kendala-kendala ini. Metode yang digunakan meliputi Tutorial, Praktek Simulasi, dan sesi tanya jawab. Tutorial memberikan penjelasan sistematis tentang penggunaan teknologi kepada pemilih dan petugas pemilihan. Praktek Simulasi memungkinkan peserta berlatih menggunakan E-Voting dalam lingkungan terkendali untuk memahami penggunaannya. Sesi tanya jawab memberikan kesempatan untuk pertanyaan, klarifikasi konsep, dan bimbingan lebih lanjut. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah pemilih dan petugas pemilihan dengan pemahaman yang jelas tentang penggunaan teknologi dalam pemilihan. Diperlukan peningkatan partisipasi dalam pelatihan dan pendampingan agar mereka lebih terbiasa dengan teknologi yang digunakan. Evaluasi berkala dilakukan untuk mengukur efektivitasnya, mengevaluasi pemahaman pemilih dan petugas, serta mengidentifikasi area perbaikan. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan E-Voting Pemilihan Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur penting untuk memastikan efektivitas pemilihan. Dengan menggunakan metode yang tepat dan evaluasi rutin, kendala dapat diatasi dan keberhasilan penggunaan sistem E-Voting dapat dicapai. Kata kunci: e-voting; pelatihan dan pendampingan; pemilihan pimpinan wilayah muhammadiyah ABSTRACTTraining and mentoring are vital in successfully implementing the E-Voting system during the Muhammadiyah East Kalimantan Regional Leadership Election. However, challenges include inadequate technological infrastructure and a need for more awareness and motivation to learn and utilize the technology. Thus, effective strategies are necessary to overcome these obstacles. The program incorporates tutorials, simulation exercises, and question-and-answer sessions. Tutorials systematically explain the E-Voting system's usage to voters and election officials. Simulation exercises offer participants a controlled environment to practice operating the technology, enhancing their understanding of its functionality. Question-and-answer sessions provide opportunities for clarification, addressing concerns, and receiving further guidance. The ultimate objective is to ensure voters and election officials clearly understand the E-Voting system's application in the voting process. Increasing participation in training sessions is crucial for individuals to become familiar with the technology. Regular evaluations assess the program's effectiveness, measure the comprehension level of voters and election officials, and identify areas for improvement. Overall, the training and mentoring program for the E-Voting system in the Muhammadiyah East Kalimantan Regional Leadership Election is crucial for a successful voting process. Implementing suitable methods and conducting regular evaluations, challenges can be promptly addressed, leading to the effective utilization of the E-Voting system. Keywords: e-voting; training and assistance; selection of muhammadiyah regional leaders

Abstract

Recently, the use of Instagram in education garnered significant interest due to its visual popularity among students. The potential of Instagram to facilitate communication, collaboration, and creative expression made it valuable asset in modern educational strategies. This study investigates students' perceptions and motivations in learning descriptive writing skills through Instagram. The participants of this study were 33 second-semester English Education students from University of Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur, using mixed-method approach: Data were collected through closed-ended questionnaires via Google Forms and analyzed using descriptive statistic SPSS, and qualitative data were gathered through open-ended interview semi-structured with 5 selected students convenience sampling method. The results of this study indicate that students have a very positive view of using Instagram for learning writing skills and that it motivates them in writing. Additionally, Instagram's interactive features, such as comments and direct messages, allow for quick and constructive feedback, further increase students' motivation and writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the utilization of TikTok to enhance the speaking ability and motivation of pre-service teachers at Muhammadiyah University of Kalimantan Timur. The primary focus is on exploring how incorporating TikTok into teaching practices can positively impact the development of speaking skills and motivation among pre-service teachers. The research methodology involves a mixed-method approach, combining surveys, interviews, and classroom observations. Initial findings suggest that integrating TikTok in teaching activities has the potential to engage students, boost motivation, and improve their speaking proficiency. These results have significant implications for the integration of technology in language education and can inform future strategies aimed at enhancing teaching and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi kesenjangan program pemberdayaan kader kesehatan melalui pelatihan IT serta memperkenalkan telemedicine sebagai alternatif dalam mendapatkan informasi di bidang kesehatan di pulau derawan. Kader Posyandu dapat menghadapi kesulitan dalam menggunakan aplikasi telemedicine dan perangkat lunak mobile yang dirancang untuk mendukung pekerjaan mereka. Kegiatan ini berlangsung pada tangal 16 hingga 20 februari 2024 di aula PKK pulau derawan bekerjasama dengan puskesmas Derawan. Metode yang digunakan pada tahap awal adalah Identifikasi anggota kader kesehatan yang akan berpartisipasi dalam program sehingga ditentukan 20 kader Kesehatan yang mendapat pelatihan IT dan Telemedicine. Bentuk pelatihan pelatihan intensif kepada anggota kader kesehatan tentang penggunaan aplikasi Google, termasuk Google Form, Google Sheet dan Google Calender serta simulasi telemedicine dengan melibatkan anggota komunitas sebagai pasien. evaluasi pelaksanaan program dan keberlanjutan program di lapangan yaitu anggota kader kesehatan telah mencapai kemampuan yang cukup untuk system pelaporan sederhana menggunakan google form, google sheet dalam pelaporan tumbuh kembang anak di posyandu, serta dapat mengatur jadwal kegiatan posyandu selanjutnya menggunakan google calender, sehingga seluruh peserta posyandu dapat mengetahui kegiatan posyandu. Selanjutnya menggunakan teknologi dan praktik telemedicine dengan kompeten. Melalui simulasi telemedicine yang diadakan, akan mengukur tingkat kesiapan mereka dalam mengimplementasikan teknologi dan layanan telemedicine dalam situasi sebenarnya

Abstract

This study explorethe contribution of the Al Islam Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) course to the character education of non-Muslim students at the Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan. The aim is to identify how AIK influences the formation of values ​​such as tolerance, justice, devotion, and social responsibility in non-Muslim students. With a case study approach, this study involved non-Muslim students who had taken AIK as subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observations to understand their experiences and perceptions of the values ​​taught in AIK. The results of the analysis showed five main themes: tolerance, devotion, justice, attitude change, and openness in interfaith dialogue. AIK was shown to encourage non-Muslim students to respect religious and cultural differences, form an attitude of mutual respect, and increase a sense of social responsibility. This study provides new insights into the importance of AIK in creating an inclusive, tolerant, and multicultural educational environment. It is hoped that these findings can support the development of character education in other multicultural universities and strengthen harmony between students from various religious backgrounds.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of YouTube video-based learning media on students at SMA Muhammadiyah Tenggarong. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a significant effect on improving students' English language skills. In this study, the author conducted quantitative research using the pre-experimental design method, which only involved one group of classes that were given a pre-test and post-test. The sample class consisted of twenty-one students. The class was taught to speak by using YouTube videos. As a result, YouTube video-based learning proved to be an effective pedagogical tool to improve students' speaking competence in social situations.

Abstract

In an era of rapid technological advancement, artificial intelligence (AI) has profoundly influenced various sectors, including education. This study explores university students’ perceptions of DeepSeek, an AI-powered chatbot, as a supporting tool in English language learning. Utilizing a qualitative method, the research involved interviews with eight second-semester students from the English Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur. Findings reveal that students perceive DeepSeek as a beneficial tool due to its user-friendly interface, fast and concise responses, and its ability to assist in grammar correction, vocabulary development, and writing improvement. DeepSeek also fosters motivation and self-directed learning. However, limitations such as overly technical answers, daily usage restrictions, and sometimes irrelevant responses were identified. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on AI-powered tool integration in education and highlights the potential and challenges of employing AI chatbots like DeepSeek in language learning contexts.

Abstract

This study examines how pre-service English teachers' life experiences, beliefs, and identity conflicts influence their perceptions and understandings of World Englishes (WE). Using a qualitative method with a narrative inquiry approach, this study used interviews and reflective journals from four sixth-semester students of an English education program at one of the religiously based private universities in East Kalimantan. The findings were that WE understanding developed through exposure to media and personal experiences, as well as language skills courses. These pre-service English teachers perceived that WE is important for students and has a positive impact on students' language skills. Despite challenges, the pre-service English teachers were committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and valued the diversity of the English language. This research suggests further exploration of how World Englishes influence teachers' teaching practices.
