Abstract

In this modern era appeared the modern thinker of Muslims who are trying to respond to the development of modern science with different points of view such as Zia Eddin Sardar, Seyyed Hossein Nasr and others. One such modern Muslim thinker is Nidal Guessoum. Through his book Islam's Quantum Question: Reconciling Muslim Tradition and Modern Science, the author attempted to reconcile Islam and science, which have been in conflict with each other in terms of the truth of knowledge since time immemorial. Islam believes that the source of reality of knowledge is the text (the Qur’an and Hadith), and science believes that the source of reality of knowledge is the mind. Through this launch, Nidal researched in-depth and integrative research on the position of Islam in looking at science, and most of his research revolves around natural sciences such as physics, development theory, global principles (Antropik Principle, Philosophy of Modern Science) and other natural sciences. With his accurate and profound background in the beauty of physical science and astronomy, Nidal presented some philosophical questions about the universality of the modern world, either from the perspective of philosophy or from the perspective of applied sciences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies, creations, and innovations of driving teachers in integrating the value of religious moderation in religious subjects at school. This research uses a qualitative method by applying a descriptive-analytical approach. The results and discussion show that strengthening religious moderation in education is important as an effort to prevent students from extreme and radical views that lead to terrorism. World civilization in the current era must be equipped with a qualified understanding of religious practices in facing a multicultural society. Religious science and natural science work together in exploring the roots of faith or the founding of civilization. The basis for this integration is the unity of sources, goals, means and groups of knowledge. Religious science offers the purpose of life. Natural sciences offer the means necessary to realize these goals. The positive trend of civilization will continue as long as harmony is created between religious and scientific understanding. This research recommends to the position holders, school leaders in the world of education, students, communities, and other stakeholders not to be easily carried away by radicalism and terrorism.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the concept of Islamic education with the values of religious moderation contained in Majid Irsan Al-Kilani's magnum opus falsafah at-tarbiyah al-islamiyyah. Because what is studied is text in the form of data used as a source of research material, this research uses a library research approach or literature study. This research uses a content analysis approach model, emphasizing in-depth discussion of the content of information written in the book. This research tries to build on the theory of human relations with God, humans with fellow humans, humans with nature, humans with life, and humans with the afterlife built by Al-Kilani. The results of this study show that the values of religious moderation in Al-Kilani's educational concept are implied in several things; integration between science and religion, relationships that humans must build for the sake of harmonization, equality between humans and nature, and emphasis on the urgency of values in the concept of education. Education built on the concept of religious moderation insight will make students' understanding moderate, tolerant and able to build harmony with nature.

Abstract

This study examines the use of prayer rooms as a means of fostering Islamic values in the context of non-formal education. Prayer rooms serve a strategic role not only as places of worship, but also as centers for educational, spiritual, and social activities. These functions make prayer rooms effective institutions for instilling Islamic values in society. This research aims to: (1) identify the various forms of prayer room utilization in developing Islamic values, (2) analyze the challenges and obstacles faced in optimizing prayer rooms as non-formal education centers, and (3) formulate optimization strategies to enhance the effectiveness of prayer rooms in instilling Islamic values in the community. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation which was carried out at the Ar-Rahmah Mosque, Salamnunggal Village, Cibeber District, Cianjur Regency over a period of three months. The study involved 15 informants consisting of 3 religious leaders, 4 prayer room administrators, 3Madrasah Diniyah administrators, 2 TPQ administrators, and 3 community members, selected through purposive sampling based on their active involvement in prayer room activities. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive analytical techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through triangulation of sources and methods. The results of the study show that prayer rooms play a role as a center for fostering Islamic values through various activities such as routine recitation, Qur'an learning, practical worship training, and socio-religious activities. Forms of utilization include the implementation of congregational worship, religious extracurricular activities, and community social development. However, the use of prayer rooms faces obstacles in the form of limited human resources, infrastructure, and low community participation. The optimization strategies needed include the development of varied programs, strengthening organizational management, increasing management capacity, and collaboration with various parties. This research confirms that well-managed prayer rooms can be an effective non-formal education center in forming a generation of faith, noble character, and becoming agents of positive change in society.
