Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine the content of flavonoids and polyphenols found in bee bread. This research is a laboratory research. The sample used in the study was bee bread. Examination used in the form of FTIR test (Fourier Transform Infrared) using FTIR spectrophotometer, Phytochemical Test to see the content of saponins, tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids and steroids using a chemical solution to see the content of bee bread and Polyphenol Test using 20D + Electronics to see the amount of polyphenols on bee bread. This research was conducted at the Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin University and the Biochemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Hasanuddin UniversityResults: Phytochemical tests using Pb (CH3COO) 2 and FeCl3 reagent solutions were found to contain flavonoids and tannins. While the FTIR test results indicate the existence of a phenolic framework which belongs to the flavonoid group.Conclusion: This study concludes that bee bread contains flavonoids and polyphenols which have antioxidant effects, so it is good to be used in supplements to deal with stress in women.

Abstract

Introduction: The affective domain is important for assessing student attitudes and behavior in the learning process, but the implementation is still lacking. So far, affective assessment is still implied in the assessment of the cognitive domain, so that the assessment of the affective domain is still carried out with cursory observations. Affective domain assessment needs to be supported using tests that match the characteristics of learning objectives. Attitude assessment can be subjective so we need an instrument that is able to measure objectively. This research aims to evaluate the feasibility of an affective ability assessment instrument in the Communications in Midwifery course at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Borneo Tarakan. Methods: This type of research is descriptive. The research sample was 30 midwifery students who were taken randomly. Data collection used an affective assessment questionnaire in the communication course in midwifery practice. Results: The results of the validity test research carried out, 22 items were declared valid out of 25 statement items (rcount > 0.361) and the instrument reliability test was 0.858 (alpha > 0.7). Conclusion: affective assessment instruments can be declared feasible and reliable so that they can be used to measure students' affective abilities

Abstract

Stunting masih menjadi masalah di Indonesia yang melibatkan banyak sektor dalam bidang kesehatan. Stunting terjadi akibat kekurangan gizi kronis akibat dari asupan gizi yang kurang dalam jangka waktu yang Panjang. Banyak faktor yang menyebabkan stunting pada anak salah satunya yaitu pemberian ASI noneksklusif selama 6 bulan pertama. Penanganan yang dianjurkan adalah meningkatkan produksi ASI. Cara yang dapat dilakukan salah satunya dengan mengonsumsi makanan yang mengandung galactogue. Jahe merupakan salah satu bahan herbal yang memiliki kandungan galactogue yang dapat membantu merangsang, mempertahankan atau meningkatkan produksi ASI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur review yaitu studi yang dilakukan dengan cara menguraikan temuan dari beberapa artikel. Pada penelitian ini artikel yang digunakan adalah artikel 10 tahun terakhir yang berasal dari google scholar, pubmed, Elsevier, dan DOAJ yang dapat diakses secara fulltext. Berdasarkan 8 artikel yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian jahe untuk dikonsumsi selama menyusui dapat meningkatkan produksi ASI. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kandungan senyawa aktif dari jahe berfungsi untuk meningkatkan produksi ASI. Oleh sebab itu, jahe baik diberikan pada ibu menyusui di hari pertama hingga ke tujuh pasca persalinan.

Abstract

Emesis gravidarum (mual dan muntah kehamilan) merupakan salah satu keluhan trimester pertama. Ketidaknyamanan ini memaksa ibu hamil untuk istirahat dari pekerjaan jika tidak ditangani dengan baik. Jahe merupakan  solusi  non farmakologi untuk mengatasi muntah. Masyarakat Dayak percaya bahwa jahe dayak dapat mengatasi muntah-muntah dan pusing pada ibu hamil. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat dalam hal ini kelompok pastry chef dalam membuat kue jahe yang terbukti efektif dalam mengurangi rasa mual dan muntah pada ibu hamil. Objek pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah Kelompok Pembuatan Kue Kecamatan Mamburuni. Metode realisasi pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yakni. tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Gedung Serbaguna Kelurahan Mamburuni Tarakan Timur Kota Tarakan selama 3 hari. Dari kegiatan yang dihasilkan, kelompok pembuat kue mampu membuat kue jahe yang dapat mengurangi muntah pada ibu hamil.

Abstract

Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) still poses a health concern in Indonesia, including in Tarakan, some cases are caused by infections and diarrhea. Exclusive breastfeeding can help prevent these conditions in infants. The extent of this practice can be observed through exclusive breastfeeding coverage in the community. Limited maternal understanding of the advantages of breastfeeding for both the baby and the mother is frequently linked to low coverage. One effective strategy to address this issue is providing structured and effective education. This activity aimed to improve pregnant women’s understanding of exclusive breastfeeding. It was conducted on August 23, 2024, at the home of a community health volunteer in Juata Laut Subdistrict, North Tarakan. The method was a lecture combined with a health education approach and was attended by seven pregnant women and held alongside a routine antenatal class. The assessment instrument used was a 15-item questionnaire on exclusive breastfeeding, with a validity score of 0.973. Three stages made up the activity: preparation, carrying out the activity, and post-test evaluation. Results showed that 5 out of 7 participants (71%) had good knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding. However, 4 participants (57%) believed that breastfeeding leads to weight gain, 1 participant (14%) did not recognize its role in preventing breast cancer, and 5 participants (71%) were unaware of its contraceptive function. Health education proved effective in increasing knowledge, though continued and comprehensive efforts during pregnancy are needed to support optimal breastfeeding practices.
